$$$ for doll

Okay today while checking my bank acount to figure out how to pay for my dollies and saving for new ones.I been wondering what have other addicts done to buy their dolls.Would you sell one of your dolls for another one or perhaps sell some stuff?

I know some collectors who have sold their dolls to replace them with another.
A friend of mine had sold her MSD so she could afford a YO-SD as a 'replacement' for him,
meaning that her new doll had the same name, personality and colour scheme as the last one.
She did this because she mainly collects tinies now, so he looked out of place.

Personally, I'm too attached to my dolls (including my porcelain girls) to sell them.
When I want a new dollfie, I save up as much money as possible.
If I can't do that, I usually try to sell some old things.

I make and sell clothes and wigs to fund my hobby. It's hard to resist the urge to save my dolly funds for a new doll... so I sometimes end up buying stuff for my dolls instead. XD Most of the time the money stays in the hobby.

Before this I used to make up a budget plan to watch my spending. It helped me save in the beginning!

My mom sew some clothes for my Karou(Ys) she likes him more then my other boys..well other than my T line choco and cofee.Though I wish I had a good camera to take pictures of them QAQ.I save money for school and add 10.00 every day in my saving for dolly funds.Though selling your doll family is emotionally hard and takes along time!

I always have this problem with getting dolls that I like but don't fit in with the rest of my doll family It kind of bothers me if they don't fit in.. So I'll end up selling the dolls that don't fit in even if I really like the sculpt / face-up >.<

I used to have 10 over heads but my doll family has since downsized to 3. One of which I am currrrently putting up for sale cos I still don't think he fit in with the other two so I have problems bonding with him

I started this hobby when I was 15. At that time my pocket money was only $5 a day so I'd skip lunch just to save for my first doll ^^;; But now I have a part time job.. Ironically, despite having more money now, I find it even harder to save! Cos there are more stuff I wanna buy like clothes and on social life >.<

I was inactive from this hobby for quite sometime because when I was focusing in this hobby, I had no money for myself literally ;( it's like feeding a kid! Guess now I'm back into it cos I basically have no life working and schooling at the same time. I hardly have time to go out anyway

When I got my first BJD I already had enough money in the bank to get her, the same with my other two as well. But since then I've been looking at more expensive dolls and I'm having a hard time justifying paying so much, even if I have cash on hand. Mainly, I've finally starting to understand I need to save my money, not spend it willy nilly.

So! To fund my dolly habits, I've just started customizing my little ponies to sell to get money to fund my BJD hobby. I've also started selling odds and ends that, with BJDs, are not being used or wanted anymore. Thus, my old hobbies are funding my new hobby(new, as in I've not had my crew long, old, though, because I've lurked in the hobby for several years).

I usually rummage through all my old stuff and find things I can put on Ebay, but I also take advantage of Christmas and my birthdays. XD

I'm writing a screenplay for a TV series about a high school science teacher in New Mexico who starts cooking meth in a old RV to raise money to support his BJD habit. The hilarious parts are when he's out in the desert in the camper cooking with 10 dolls who are all arguing with him over the best recipe for making methamphetamine. Of course there's many miscommunications between himself and various drug dealers and cartel members because while he can hear the dolls talking, they can't. Much hilarity ensues. I'm going to call it "Breaking Resin".

Seriously though, yes, this stuff is expensive...and driven by the limited quantity of dolls, clothes and shoes and having to look over and over again on various sites at all the cool stuff that is now SOLD OUT! Which of course creates consumer anxiety and makes me count the days till I get paid again and can hopefully get that one item (or five) before it's(or they) are gone....

I'm selling a bunch of stuff on eBay I have lying around that's collecting dust. Plus, I do Monster High customs so I get some money from them.

I currently only have one here, with two on the way and luckily my parents offered to help pay for part of one for a Christmas present. So, that's a little bit off my shoulders.

For a while I was living apart from my parents due to my university being far away from home and I needed to live nearer. They put money in my bank account for food, water, electricity (they paid rent) and all that good stuff...well I just used to eat a little less and tried to be economic and whatever was left, I used it for my dolls~
After I came back to live with them (while trying to get into another uni), I started working for my dad's company so they paid me ^ ^~

I personally save allowance (because I'm a poor college student ), book buyback cash, paychecks and plasma donation cash to fund my dollie family. Plus, my brother and I started a penny bank that we split right down middle and that really helps when there's something extra and cheap that I want for a doll. I'm very Type A, so it also helps me to know the total (include the shipping fee) and keeping an eye on my cashflow by budgeting, so I can reach that dollie goal faster without my bank account wanting my neck.

I save every and any penny I can. I've also thought of sewing a bunch of stuff and selling it and just hopefully being able to cash in from that as well.

All I do is have a separate bank account and each time I get paid, a little money gets put into it. so eventually I'll have money for someone new

I have two expensive hobbies: lolita and BJDs. So, if I want to buy a new doll, I either have to have an influx of money or sell a dress. So, my lolita hobby is maybe suffering a bit, lol..
