I feel so icky inside!!
I was trying to sell my camera to get money for my first abjd, and someone tried to get me to send it to Nigeria, to their son apparantly. That was my first heads up. And they were doing it through paypal, and apparantly, I wasn't going to get the money 'til I shipped it. That was the second heads up. So I called paypal and found out they were trying to scam me. I am SO glad I didn't send out the camera, but I've still got 200 less than I though I was going to have. I thought I was going to be so close to being able to afford my DoD Petsha...But noooo. Someone had to scam me. Sigh...I don't suppose anyone's in need of a camera?

That sucks, but it's a good thing you recognised it for what it was, a scam. Go intuition!

Sorry to hear about what happened!
I would try to sell it on craigslist and then the buyer could pay cash and you could meet face to face.
I know it doesn't always sound safe to do that, but I bought my TV off of craigslist (for $5 since it was old but still working) and the people were local (2 miles from home) and I took my fiance with me so that he could carry the tv. I also once bought an electric guitar for him on craigslist and the seller went to the school across the street from mine so we met in the parkinglot to do the sale.

That sucks lucky you caught it in enough time. Maybe try again? Perhaps second times a charm?

Is it bad that my first thought was "Sell your CAMERA??? What will you do with a doll without a camera?" - I more often see people selling doll stuff to get a newer, better camera FOR the dolls!
I hope you find a good buyer, though!

ya you gotta capture the moment when you first bring it home...like a newborn
and you're gonna wanna share that joy with the rest of the world and therefore a doll owner should always own a camera

I know. That seems so ridiculous!
You'd think they'd at least try to scam someone closer

I second Craigslist, but be aware that you may still get scam emails are people who just flat out either stand you up (If your meeting them some where),or bail out at the last second. At least that's what I get sometimes. *glares at local craigslist*

That happened to a friend. The other way around. She wanted to buy a doll, and started getting suspicious that she was being scammed.
When that was confirmed she sent them a mail saying she wouldn't buy the doll (Wasn't even their picture) and the responded more than once using insulting terms.
I'm glad you didn't get scammed.

You were smart enough to avoid being scammed. The experience of being a target is certainly no fun but everything is okay, you didn't lose any of your possessions. It could have been alot worse.
