First up, my preferences are based on function over form. Function is defined by whether the doll is double-jointed, can stand on its own, and how realistic the body looks when posing.

Looks-wise, my favorite is Iplehouse. The doll bodies are well-made, and the face-scultps aren't too cartoonish. They're well-made, but incredibly pricey. I love their variety of skintones and face molds... definitely worth a look or three (it's practically doll porn.) One drawback I heard about, though, that the feed for some of the larger dolls (60cm+) are hard to find shoes for. But that was a while back, and maybe things have changed?

Price-and-feature-wise, I like AOD. AOD is a bit cartoonish, but if you're into anime and don't mind that, then AOD is a good choice (I like their Wang doll.) I also heard good things about Doll Leaves, but mostly about their 45cm minis (I don't like their larger dolls, but that's a question of taste.)

Fairyland makes some gorgeous dolls, too, and they pose pretty well.

Volks are all right, although they have an unrealistic anime-ish quality in their face-ups and their skintone selection is small. Also, with all the anime-inspired lines currently clogging the market, Volks needs to come up with something more original than what they currently offer (maybe more dolls of color, not just their generic "tan"?) Considering their price level, I'd expect a little more bang for the buck.

If you love a doll, go and get it... just make sure it's double-jointed (and second-hand, if possible.)

I am absolutely in love with Soony from Luts. Her face is just too sweet. The bodies and hand details that Luts offers are also the most detailed/prettiest in my personal opinion (though I know it depends on the individual).

I know nothing of pose ability though, since I don't own one.

Volks is a good company. I've been to several of their Dolpas and I've always been impressed by their enthusiasm and care.

Cerberus Project/LUTS--has been around a long while and are good about keeping customers happy. I love CP sculpts: Most of my dolls (6) are CP designs. One is from Fairyland--the company CP created for their own lines, other than the ones they make for LUTS. Fairyland seems pretty good, although they are currently running a bit slow because they get so many orders. But they are fixing that. People seem generally happy with them.

Soom is currently my favorite company when it comes to loving their fantasy-themed dolls and sculpts. I have 4 Soom Monthly Dolls and have another on layaway... and am thinking of getting another...

Iplehouse is another favorite when it comes to loving their dolls. I have 2 Iplehouse dolls and would love to buy more.

I have other BJDs from 7 other companies. They have all seemed good to buy from. I haven't had any problems.

I have dolls from Volks, Blue Fairy, Narin and Alchemo lab. My favorite is Volks. I like their sculpts and resin the best. I haven't had any problems with the other dolls. The Narin urethane tan resin is a little brittle, though and will chip (personal experience). I haven't had any dolls turn yellow. My oldest Volks doll (Before they had head plates- from the Super Dollfie Dream days web group) has turned color - a slightly creamy ivory, but its not bad (Volks old resin).

Since most of my dolls are from SoOm I guess they are the brand I would prefer. Of course I can't say that to be 100% true as I do not own a doll from every company but for right now I would say SoOm is pretty nice.

LUTS' CP Delfs! Every mold is so beautiful and are really great for customizing (unlike some molds that still look like each other even when they have different face-ups).

All my dolls are CP delfs xD I especially love their size.

I personally find SDs above 61 cm too big for my liking. That's why it's kinda hard for me to include another male doll from a different company cos my Delf dolls are suppose to already be mature ><

I've been looking at so many companies for my first dolls but I loved the look of the Fairyland ones the most.

I love BBB/ResinsSoul; their 27cm sculpts are my absolute favorite, and now I think I'm falling in love with their tinies as well!

I really love fairyland poseability, but I'm not in love with the head sculpts. I'm a HUGE unoa fan, with 3 unoa hybrids at home that I love and cherish. I also have a weakness for a few soom dolls, but I think many of them are overrated in my opinion.
Pipos is another company that deserves some recognition, I love my charlotte and derek to bits<3

I'd love to get my hands on a littlefee and a cerisedoll though. I don't plan to for either, but I hear amazing things about littlefees and cerisedolls are just gorgeous!

I LOVE Resin Soul! I have had about 10 of them and they all pose beautifully, they have a great variety of resin colors and the price is hard to beat.

Wonderful for modding or just playing

If were just stating opinions now, I recently received a Dikadoll and love the workmanship on him! Ifve been to a couple doll meet ups, and kind of prefer him to the top brands Ifve seen *^^*. Other Dikadoll owners at the meets seemed to be very pleased with them as well. He wasnft too expensive, and is good for a starter doll. Itfs a Chinese company so Ifve been warned the resin will yellow faster, but other than that their attention to detail is wonderful. They also have really good balance and flexibility. There 70cm even come with a 5 part torso, and it works really well

The fairylands Ifve seen are also really nice. Ifm not an owner, but comparing the minis Ifve seen, thatfs what Ifd buy.

I've just brought home a lovely Ellowyne Wilde (Totally Refined) in resin. Would any of you be familiar with the Wilde Imagination company? I'd appreciate hearing what you think of the quality of their sculpts, resin, etc. Thanks!

I don't think I have a favorite, if you went by numbers Supia must be my prefence because they're the only company that I own two full, non hybrid dolls from They pose fantastic and are beautiful. Though I love Dollstown for their absolute beauty too. Iplehouse, Fairyland, and on and on forever.
Volks are lovely dolls, I've played with many and even owned one for a time (school A on SD 13 boy body.) I enjoy admiring them and their Lucas was my frist love, but they're not the most glorious posers out there, and their child like bodies and fat little doll hands leave a lot to be desired from me. I find a prefrence for one company or another mostly comes from asthetic desires, or ease of posing. Atleast for me.
