Hello! I'm CatMoran just about everywhere.

Last fall a member of my flist lured me into bjds, I've been collecting them since January. As a software developer I possibly have too much money to invest in resin. So far I have:

Elfdoll Wu "Scout"
CP Shiwoo "Dennis"
BC mb elf Roko "Asha"
CP mnf elf Shiwoos "Andy" and "Nicky"
Domuya Flexi Perennial Fin

And I have a CP Miyu and Yo-SD Ayumu on the way.

The thing I like best is the imagination and creativity people put into their dolls.

Hello, I'm Jennifer.

I've been into bjds since 2005, and now have 14 at-home boys, with my Cristal on the way. I live in Florida and work for the government doing tricksy genetic manipulating things.

My favorite skintone is tan, and I love love love boy dolls. My favorite thing to do with them is take pictures and occasionally write stories about snippets of their lives. (But not in a roleplay sense.) I'm actually just starting a big writing project with one of my couples right now. And yes, all of my dolls are gay, as that's the way I like them.

Hey, I'm Jill, or Hatten, or Hat-chan on DOA (man that name was a mistake. XD)

I have been interested and collecting BJDs since 2005. My dolls will be in my sig as soon as I get around to it, heh. Just registered!

And uh, that's about it!

Hi all!

I'm Kelly, but go by kellyhime in the doll world, because my husband and father say that I'm a princess, which works really well for getting pictures hung and jars opened, but at 42, I'm kind of an old princess. I have a BA in Textile Art and an MA in Philosophy and plan to go back to school next year for another MA in Japanese Art History, as I've been doing a lot of informal lecturing on the topic and figured I might as well have a degree in it. Over the years, I've done everything from retail sales to roofing, but for most of my adult life, my husband and I have been antique dealers and estate liquidators.

I first discovered BJD in early 2004 while doing searches for anime stuff on eBay and was instantly struck by their beauty -- and price! However, the more I researched them, they more I wanted one and got my first BJD in August of 2004 -- and it was all downhill from there. I'll save you the entire list, but you're welcome to check out my doll profile.

Little did I know where this hobby would lead me. I'm usually very much of a dilettante, but after three years, I'm more and more immersed in this hobby everyday. Like many of you have mentioned, I've made some of the best friends I've had in my life through this hobby. I also design and make doll clothes for my company, LavenderKiss, and am the director of next year's NorCal BJD con, Dollectable. I've even traveled to Japan three times specifically for Volks events. It's kind of scary in a way, but I would say that the majority of what I do relates somehow to this hobby -- and I'm loving every minute of it!

I've been wishing for a smaller, more intimate forum that has a more flexible format than LJ, so I'm very excited about Resinality and I can't wait to participate!

Hi guys! I'm Meg. I'm 18 and in my first year of College with an undecided major right now (hopefully one day I want to end up with a job in costume design but I'm not quite sure how to achieve that just yet @_@; ).

I've been in the BJD "scene" since 2003, when I got my first doll, a CustomHouse Gene from Domuya back when they sold other brands. I keep pretty quiet on DOA because I'm lame and big forums intimidate me, so hopefully I'll be able to get off on the right foot and actually participate here rather than just observe in a nervous silence xD

Once upon a time I had a doll site, but I'm finicky and grow unhappy and tired of things way to easily, so after one to many renovations and name changes, I took it down entirely. I've got a brand new version in the works now, however, so that should start existing one of these days, and with any luck, for longer than it's ill-fated predecessors.

ANYHOW. My doll family right no consists of:

Michael, a Volks School A
Bastian, a Customhouse Gene/Jin
Griffin, a Bluefairy Jerome
Andre, a Tensiya Hound
And a YoSD Ayumu who's on the way home right now.

Hi, I'm Pooki (or Diep in real life). I'm 37, female, live in OH w/ 2 kids and a husband. I just found out about this forum from bunnythe13th on LJ.

I think I got into abjd in 2002, but I can't remember....old age, I guess... Jujube's Volks dolls were the first ones that I can remember, that really made an impression on me. I wish I had a lot of dolls, as there are so many that I greatly admire and greatly covet, but right now I only have one. Hopefully more will find their way here some time in the future.

I'm mostly into art and fashion, but these days my interest is primarily in sculpting.

It's nice to have this new forum! I mostly lurk, as I don't have a lot of time to go on forums these days....life keeps you busy!

Big Grin

Hi there! I'm Kii, and I go by Kiyala on LJ and DoA and anywhere else I can get the name ^^ I'm a student in the first year of university, studying psychology and I've been interested in dolls for about a year.
I only recently got my first less than a month ago - his name's Shinya and he's a CP El. I hope to get more, but my parents seem pretty opposed to the idea (waah, such cute smilies )
I'm really looking forward to being able to make things for Shinya - props, clothes, anything I can think of! (Just need to get past this kind-of-busy time in uni first...) and I want to learn how to do faceups and such too (but only after I get a head to practice on that isn't Shinya's... don't want to stuff it up )
So yes~ pleased to meet you all! And I hope to see you around on the boards too

Heya~ I'm Celeste, and I go by Pia on DoA. 4th year music student in Melb Uni, graduating this sem! Whee! Hoping to go on to masters of teaching after this .. *grins*

I've been in this hobby for about 3 years, currently have 6 girls with me, even though if you came to visit, there's more than just 6 sitting around! I house many other dolls that belong to my friends too, so it's a real doll museum over here!

My doll collection consist.. 100% of girls at the moment. I just find myself much more attracted to girls, and bond better with them, even though my first doll was a boy!

Anyways - nice to meet you and you and you! Hope to see you guys around the board, which hopefully will be much cozier than big ol' DoA!

Erm, hi. Lotsa familiar names here--me, I'm Cynthia in FlintHills most places, sedens on LJ.

- What's your real name? Oh, *guess*. It isn't "sedens."
- What's your occupation? College professor.
- How long have you been collecting BJDs? Since August of 2004--I feel like a latecomer, still.
- What dolls do you own? Eep. Do I hafta tell? It's embarrassing!
- What's your favorite aspect of the BJD hobby? The dolls themselves: they're such a pleasure to handle, before and above and beyond anything else. But I don't think that's what the question is asking, so . . . I suppose it's a dead heat between (a) photography and (b) learning about the intersection of doll history with Japanese & Korean culture.
- Anything else you feel like telling us! *points to profile*

Heeeello. I'm Sha (my real name's Leesa, but Sha I still prefer Sha overall). I'm a 19 year-old college sophomore majoring in English literature. I've been collecting BJDs since 2004. I've gone through about a dozen since then, but right now, I have a Volks Sweet Dream Syo girl named Riley and a YoSD Ayumu I'll call Little Bird on the way. I've been in and out of the hobby for a while now, but I've discovered my favorite part right now is playing dress up with my girl. I love buying things for her and developing her sense of style. She's fab. :3

Looking forward to what this new forum will grow into.

I'm talithax on DoA, Live Journalc and most likely many other places that I can't immediately bring to mind as well! I live in Adelaide, South Australia, and work for the Government on the clerical side of mental health.

After falling in love with a 1/6 Volks / Obitsu hybrid I decided that I had to investigate 'proper' BJDs in more detail and purchased my first MSD in March '06.

I now have far more dolls than I ever thought I would and can't imagine life without them.

In order of arrival, my crew consists ofc

Tarlei - Dollzone Xi
Kaspar - DoC Too
Latimer - Dollmore U-Jee
Lafayette - CP Moon (Redemption)
Kyran - CP El
Telinka - MNF Shiwoo
Tarkan - DoC Homme Kiril
Talachi - MNF El
Chloe - CP Yder
Aya - CP Shine
Faith - CP Shiwoo
Tachita - CP Dreaming Vamp Shiwoo on a Fantasy Doll body
Katarsha - CP Na-Nu-Ri '07

I'm also waiting on a Lishe and a Lu-Wen

Needless to say my big loves are both boys and CP dolls. (The Lishe is anc experiment!)

What I love most about BJDs is the different forms of creativity they inspire. Be it face-ups and mods to photostories or simply dressing them in their own style, they offer something for everyone.

- What's your real name? -- My real name is Annie. You might know me as mana_sama or littlesuki on Livejournal and, of course, as Majenta here and on DoA =)

- What's your occupation? -- Until recently I was working as an English teacher on a remote island in Japan. I returned to the states just a month ago and am currently job hunting.

- How long have you been collectiing BJDs? -- For over four years now (yes, I came from the era of no English websites!)

- What dolls do you own?

Haika - Volks Tohya
Suki - Happydoll Rian
Haruhiko - Shiwoo Elf
Jedusor - Sleeping Shiwoo Elf
Marcie - Volks Kun
Halo - SA Saint
Akiko - Volks Toppi
Shizune - Volks Shizu
Ithuriel - Senior Delf Bliss
Asadel - Narin60

- What's your favorite aspect of the BJD hobby? -- As an artist, it covers so many of my passions: painting, photography, story-telling, sewing, etc.

- Anything else you feel like telling us! -- Thanks to my recent year in Japan and my pains now to find a job and start the application process for graduate school, I've largely fallen off the face of the earth and seem to have lost many of my dolly friends online. I hope I can reconnected with people here!

I'm Nicolle aka radiotrash on pretty much every forum I join. I first learned of BJDs when I was in my first year of college about four years ago through Aimee's website. (I followed her art for awhile and was curious of this new doll section that opened up.) Being without funds to get them (and since I was in Canada on a student visa I was unable to work legally) I pushed them out of my mind and went on my merry way.

Then Leigh/Hitasura posted on her LJ about this doll she bought and I fell in love all over again. I've been through a bit of molds before settling on my true love, Anisa, my white Kun.

The hobby really got me into photography, something that I had been interested in but hadn't actively pursued, and I'm interested in sewing as well although that is going much much more slowly. The downside is that for almost two years my drawing has dwindled to non-existent because of these resin lovlies. XD; I'm pretty much concentrating on getting back into that full force now.

Hi! I'm Mara! I'm originally from historic and lovely Boston, Massachusetts and I'm 28 years old. I recently got married to a tall, handsome video game nerd. Together, our humble little condo in MA's South Shore is a fine geeky fifedom where we rule as alpha-nerds over all! I went to the oldest public school in America, then went to college at my safety school, and now I work as a graphic designer/creative director/professional computer geek at one the world's leading institutions of technology!! I've been in love with dolls since I was little. The courtship of BJDs was a little longer than some of my other love affairs with dolls, but oh, did I ever fall and fall hard!!!

Even though I've been in this hobby for a good three years, sometimes it feels longer than that because of all the changes that have happened both online and off. In a lot of ways, my resin pals have gone through these changes with me together... the death of a friend, moving into a new home, huge changes in professional responsibility, a major medical problem, and now going from "perpetually dating" to "married and settling down."

My other big hobby is anime fandom. I'm the Vice Chair of the Providence Anime Conference, an upcoming event for fans of Japanese animation aged 21+ and older (want to staff? Talk to me!). I'm also on the staff of Anime Boston (my job there is to feed the staff).

Being a young professional with a long commute, I don't really expect to ever be "part of the scene" or a person whose name rests immediately on the lips of people who enjoy BJDs - I really just want to be able to enjoy a gluttonous visual feast of the loveliest dolls from some of the best photographers and storytellers that the English-speaking fandom has to offer. I don't have much to give, really, than my attention and admiration. What I like about this forum so far is the intimacy, the neat way that content is organized and presented, and best of all, to see so many names that I've come to admire a lot. I'm happy to be here!

HELLO! My name's Claudia, though you may know me as kuro on DoA. I currently own a Volks School A named Hisashi, and am waiting on a Yo-SD Ayumu who will perhaps be named Oliver. (Haven't decided yet.)

I saw my first BJD, tasu's MSD Tsubaki, Sora, when I met tasu at an anime con in fall 2005. Coincidentally, in the same weekend, a friend of mine (who's a huge fan of Hyde), showed me Caress of Venus, and that really nailed it in for me.

I originally got into the hobby with big dreams of starting a successful line of doll clothing, yet that never quite happened. I'm not disappointed though, because through dolls I was given the chance to expand my painting into faceups (which, to be frank, I don't suck at), as well as photography (which, in equal honesty, I do kind of suck at). But hey, Rome wasn't built in a day, right? Should you see my threads here or on DoA, let me tell you know that I'm always open to some good constructive criticism

I always love meeting new people in this hobby, and the best way is through my LJ. Pop by if you're interested!
