Who else likes more mature doll heads?
And by mature, I mostly mean a stronger jawline, and just less childish features overall. Don't get me wrong, I adore most of the doll's faces (one of my favorites has a really young face), I've just come to notice that more mature menfolk aren't that common.
If you've got a doll that doesn't look pre-pubescent, I wanna see him or hear about him. What got your attention, what made you fall in love with the mold? And since I'm looking to get one too, where'd you get 'em?
And let's not forget about the girls. I've seen a few very nice woman molds with more defined features and they were wonderful. I'm also pretty fond of women who can have strong features and still look beautiful.
Share pictures with a poor doll-less wannabe.
P.S. Strong jawline + facial hair = <3 ( *cough* Hitasura's Null *cough* )

My hubby bought me my first guy last christmas. I looked so hard, because I really wanted him to look "mature" rather than pre-teen. I've got Domuya Zen head on a male flexi-body. I have been working on blushing and a face-up (sad to admit, but I've had him almost 4 months and have not painted his face). He is going to get a moustache and a goatee if I can get it to work correctly. I'm planning on using alpaca hair for both parts. I'd like the look of real hair over paint. (I promise to post a picture once he's painted and whiskered ... is it bad to promise your doll not to post pictures until he's got a face?)
It was hard to purchase my first resin girl because I wanted a mature girl rather than a 12 or 14 year old girl. I prefer more risque clothing styles and mature themes and just couldn't put them on a little girl. My first resin girl is an Elfdoll Sooah (River). My MSD girls fall into the younger group, though, cause I bought sculpts that I really just loved (DZ Felian and BBB Sprite). My Sprite, Pippen, especially falls towards the younger group because she came with the immature body.

LauraJ: I looked at the Zen, but his eyes bothered me a little. I've seen pictures of him with various faceups and wigs that looked great but he always freaked me out a little. ^^;; I do wanna see pictures of your guy when he's done though. I've only ever seen painted facial hair (but I'm noob-ish and sheltered). The Sooah is gorgeous too. I'll have to get into the girl dolls ( I only have one planned, a Dollmore Ipsae ) but my boys will prolly come first.
Carolyn.S: Awh, I really like the Limho. I also found the Mano pictures and back-pedaled furiously because that particular mold weirds me out. A lot.
Thanks much for the links. Your girl is really pretty.
Yay, feedback! You guys rock. =D

Check out Soom's Super Gem and Mecha Angel. I like Rex and Spinel very much. The ladies are too mannish for my taste, but they might be the defined sort of sculpt you're looking for. My favorite mature girl is Supia Roda, but she is very soft and tender-faced. Elfdoll's new girl Hazel is also gorgeous and mature - but also very realistic, so it may or may not be your aesthetic.
Personally, I prefer youthful and androgynous sculpts, but I must admit that Rex tempts me terribly - if he weren't so HUGE (Mecha Angels are the largest size bjd out there, at 80 cm) I might seriously consider him.
Volks Yukinojo is a muscly fellow. Way too muscly for me, in fact, and I don't like his face; but there's the squarest jaw in all doll-dom. Volks new F-38 is also quite strong-jawed, and in my opinion a bit more handsome.
Volks Olivia, Amelia, Garnet, and Ruby are all mature girls. I must confess I don't like any of them (as girls - Olivia and Amelia make pretty boys), but don't take my word for it. Like I said, I personally favor feminine, androgynous, soft sculpts.
*cough* Sorry for the babbling! I tried to recommend not only sculpts I like but also sculpts that might fit what you're looking for.
Edit: Soom just proved me wrong about their Super Gem girls - they released this lovely creature today and she's divine (or rather, demonic): http://dollsoom.com/shop/step1.php?number=3030 Yum! So yeah, one rec for Beryl (keep in mind if you are seriously interested in her, that this is a limited edition fullset release, and Soom will probably release her as a less expensive standard later...though she might not have the kickass extra leg parts and horns.)

Kogepan: Roda is gorgeous. Wow.Elfdoll's Hazel is stunning too but not my cup of tea. Passed her onto a friend who is hyperventilating with glee, however.
80 cm? Goodness gracious. I want you, Rex, but you're too tall. xD Spinel, you're perfect. You're coming home with me. Now.

Spinel = ! You must get him.
Mature sculpts seem to be becoming more popular lately. I think most of Iplehouse's dolls are pretty mature looking, especially Barron, Aaron, and Cocori. Somebody already steered you to the Soom dolls which I also think are gorgeously strong sculpts.
Although I don't actually have her yet , I have ordered a Swan Lake Cocori for the very reason that she looked mature enough to be an adult human since I'm planning a character doll and needed her to look realistic. I especially appreciate how her features are sculpted to portray a different look than the average "normal skin" doll. I think that really adds to the realism, for me anyway.

I love you, Iplehouse, all your girls are belong to me. .__.
I need a lot of money or I need to stop looking a dolls. I already found a match for my character with Spinel but I need more mature guys and girls.
( They're not as mature looking, but I'm getting a Louis, who's character needs to look young, and a SooRi who is supposed to be an older-brother sort. xB )

I needed a more mature sculpt for a character of mine, and most girl dolls out there are so stylized that I have been looking at mostly boy sculpts for her. Cause even most of the boys out there are just so darn pretty! I have decided that the ideal sculpt for my girl would be either a dollndoll Raam, or a Souldoll Marvin.

I've recently been getting into the more 'mature' sculpts as well. My personal favourites have already been mentioned, such as Volks Yukinojo and the new f-38 (I also love love love customized Heaths, and Williams is a pretty manly fellow), as well as the Soom guys. I'm not too into girl sculpts, but there are definitely a handful of more 'mature' molds out there.

*raises hand* You're not alone. I've loved BJDs since I first saw them quite some time ago, but I definitely wanted a very mature-looking doll. It was great -- I could, uhm, not have something new and gorgeous to go (even more) broke over! I could just smile, ooh, ahh, and not risk the wallet. The Mecha Angels are the official doom to that not-so-well-crafted budgeting plan. A friend of mine pointed out the link in the midst of oohs and ahhs over a costume on one of them, and... well, I've paid for two girls now, but having them? Not yet.
I absolutely fell in love with their faces, to be honest. They reminded me of the style I used to draw in, back when I had time and energy to draw. The combination of that, their size, and the can't-be-mistaken-for-anything-but-an-adult bodies and faces won me over in an instant.

I also prefer the older dolls. I love the baby-faced tinies but they are just not my thing. I also prefer more realistic dolls. so for that reason I like Unidolls and Supiadolls.

LOL! Well Barron is one of the best molds I know of in the 60cm range with strong masculine features. Facial hair and side burns were cut from sticky sided velcro. He has a default face up with a dusting of black pastel to give him the '5 o'clock' shadow....Oh! and he has a slight point to his ears...which you can ignore...or not
This is what he looks like without the additions:
My other mature boys:

Dollshe Bernard
