I love twin dolls. There are certain molds that I could very easily have multiples of, possibly as siblings or twins. I'd love to have Volks F16 girls in every skintone, for example. I don't think of them as duplicates, but as a mold I really, REALLY like, and want to try different things with. I'd have a hard time doing "exactly alike," even with my planned twins, because even the most identical of twins have differences in personality and attitude, and I'd want to express that in their faceups.
However, even if you had the same faceup artist give each doll the exact same faceup, I think there would still be subtle differences between the two. ^-^

Tinka and Teagan are twins - my U-Noa Sist girl and Sist/B-El boy.
They share clothes, but never dress the same. They also have completely different personalities and interests :)

Fun topic!
I have three sets of twins and one set of triplets. Did I ever think I'd go that far? No. Am I loving it? Oh yeah! I really enjoy the differences and similarities. And well, there's just something so endearing and fascinating about twins/triplets anyway. I wouldn't at all be surprised if I got more sets in the future
Here's the extent of my obsession

My School A twins, Jean-Baptiste and Felix. (Jean-Baptiste is modded.)

My Sweet Dream School A twins, Thomas and Sigrid. (Thomas is obviously modded. They are my only set of girl-and-boy twins.)

My Black Cat Lucas and White Cat Chris twins, Devon and David. (Both have default faceups and same eye colors. None of my other twins have the same eye colors.)

My triplet set, which I refer to as The Lucai Trinity: (L-R) Winter Rain (Kai), Cyricus (Chris 2nd), and Linus (Lucas 1st) (Two beauty white, one normal skin - all the same mold with different faceups.)

I have two sets of twins. I have a pair of Roxy Yams and two Twink-keys. Neither set has dressed alike, but as soon as I finish the curtains for the kitchen, I'm declaring a doll sewing day. Who knows what might come of it?

I have a Serendipity Dobby and I really think the Charles mold looks like it could be is twin, with just a different expression on. Id love to do exact twins just for the great photo opportunities, but I dont think Ill ever sink that much money into this hobby.

I would love to buy multiples of the same sculpt. They may technically be the same mold but once painted and clothed they can become very unique. For instance I would love to explore the possibility of identical twins of opposite genders.
Even for those who make their identical twins look exactly the same - I feel that it is human nature to enjoy synchronicity and symmetry. If having one feels good, two is possibly better!

I have triplets of a mold I wasn't entirely fond of to begin with. It started as a free head, so I did a faceup on her and actually dug it. Then I wound up getting a second free head with another order, so I did a faceup on that one to give as a gift to a friend. It sort of went in theme with the first, so I figured I'd acquire another one to continue the theme... and then another...
Now I'm actually working on acquiring a fourth to complete the group! They're all very different in faceup, wigs, outfits, so while they might be the same mold and skintone, they're very distinct.

Would I buy twins? Yes, in fact I already have twins. I love to look at twins. The more identical they are the more I love looking at them, but I also love searching for small differences between the two ---- particularly if the doll owner intended for these differences.
My twins are nearly identical, though they are more mirrors of each other. Each have one light grey and one darker grey, with the order reversed from one to the other.
Their face up did their face-ups at the same time and were done nearly identical as I had requested. I say nearly because there are differences. The biggest is that that while one has a scar on his right eyebrow, the other has the scar on the left. The best part of their face-ups is that they were painted to give subtle differences in impressions. Whether at a cursory appraisals or a long-hard examination, one twin has a sweeter appearance than the other. This was done by subtle variations by the Face-up Artist (Violaine). But, when one first glances at the twins they are almost impossible to tell apart. The more on becomes familiar with them the easiest it is to spot them apart; just as it is for many so-called identical twins.

I had Cristal twins for a few weeks after I won the second one at the LA Dolpa. Technically they were different "personalities" of the same character, but essentially they were the same doll with different faceups. I ended up selling my first Cristal with the normal faceup because, like many others have said, there are many other headsculpts out there and it feels like a waste to me to have two of the same. I adore the normal Cristal faceup and some part of me is sad I let it go, but most of me is happy because in selling Cristal 1.0 I got to bring home my Amakusa .

Ooh, interesting topic! XD
I love the idea of twin (or more!) dolls, but for a while never had a reason to have any, since all of my dolls are supposed to be justifiable as story characters. Then I saw an Angelregion Jade and fell in love with his little face, which could be sweet (Present Jade v1) or sharp (Present Jade v2, Tanning Jade). My brain got rolling on one of my favorite forms of presentation: contrasts.
I love the idea of comparing and contrasting this way... I think the two of them sharing the same base made the contrasts all the more interesting
I like the idea of open-eyed vs. sleeping twins, too  Just, again, not on my agenda at the moment. Personally, I'd probably never get two of the same mold, in the same skintone, with the same faceup. I guess I'd like to see the differences that can be brought out in the same mold, rather than playing in similarities... personal preference. ^^;

I like twins...for me as long as the face-up is different enough...if I really love the sculpt I am tempted. I have a few 'twins' that are normal and tan colored and I love 'em!

I technically have a pair of twins, although they're just two characters put into the same mold because they both somehow looked 'right' to me. I think it's a nice demonstration of how flexible some head molds can be when you can have multiples of them and still have them look distinct~ Heck, even real identical twins have their differences, so it's nice to appreciate that in twin dolls too, although there's a certain appeal in seeing perfect symmetry... I'd definitely love a pair of perfectly identical dolls if I could afford it, just so I could admire them through the camera lens. X3
(PS. I can't really claim that my two K's look that overwhelmingly different from each other, but I think they're different enough XD )

Jenova, your Jades are beautiful! They're a very interesting set of twins. I like their contrats. Where did you get their outfits? I love them.

Thank you! I made pretty much everything they're wearing, except their wigs and the red pair of wings :3 (Saris are really easy to make )

Twins...? ^^;;;

Megu and Kira

Licht and Leona
I wanted to create Lord of the Rings Elladan and Elrohir - so when Elf El was created, I ordered two on purpose to portray the twins. They're my only nearly identical twins.
I have Little Fair twins, Rhei and Lhei: a Little Fair Tanning Ren and an Only For You Tanning Ren. I love that their face-ups are a little different, reflecting their personalities
I also have a an old (normal) F29 and a pureskin Sunlight F17, a Black Cat Lucas and a White Cat Chris and a Kohya and a Tohya, although I don't think of any of these sets as "twins." I just love the headmolds, and they fit certain characters. (I would love a Sunlight Lucas-esque or Tohya-esque triplet, if Volks ever made one. But story-wise, like these "twins," they wouldn't be related.)
Briefly had twin Inheungsa Lucyels, because I sold mine, missed him, bought another, but he wasn't the same, and was able to buy my original one back. (Yay!) And so sold the second. It was fun to have two for awhile, though.
Oh, and I currently have three white CH Jins. Maybe my favorite doll sculpt of all! One is twin to my Customhouse Jun.
I recently was able to get a Customhouse Evan (Ivan), who's not related, but I love that he's part of the Jin family too!
At the last NY Dolpa, I was able to order a "twin" for my Sunlight F16 Rhunei.
And last but not least, was able to get 3 Migi Miho's in suntan last year - a boy, a girl and a vampire. The boy and girl are twins, the vampire unrelated.
So yeah, twins. I'd have to say love them, and there's no such thing as too much of a good thing.

I adore twins! We have three sets here at home - one identical pair, one set of fraternal brothers (Custom House Mars and Jupiter) and a set of fraternal siblings (Volks Syo and Megu).
We also (between my girlfriend and I) have two other sets of the same head mold and I have three boys that are similar head molds.
I guess when you see something you like, there's a tendency to get more of the same sometimes! But none are exactly alike.

Twins become addictive. I've had Silvia twins planned for awhile (one open eyed, one dreaming), and hiritai and I have twin characters as part of our doll family. One of these, our BC Elf Gun twins, became all mine recently when she sold Lucy to me. They are different skin tone, and different personalities, and I love that about them. But I do love to have them wear matching outfits (that still reflect their own personalities):

I completely agree with what others above had said about not wanting twins....... I think that if I had twins I would completely change there face up and cloths, I don't really know, twins that look exactly alike would get boring for me!!! Fraternal twins would be a good idea though, because it gives a lot more opportunity for change and diversity, but really I would never own more than a couple of bjd at a time, because I wouldn't have enough time to spend with each of them.......

I have multiples. 4 f-01 and someday another f-01 (FCS bw this time) is going to come, so they'll be 5. I don't know if my 2 sweet dreams can be considered part of the multiples too. My f-01 are different versions ( excepting Standard Sara Oldskin, that one is modded and the other not ) oldskins, pureskins...new make up version, new body version...etc...So they are not "exactly" the same. All of them belong to the same story/family.
I feel very comfortable with multiples (obviously XD). Mine are all different. Diferent makeups, clothes style, personality...I don't think I ever have identical twins. I like to experiment with each one of them.
My girls:

1999 - Still working on her

Emily

Claire Elizabeth

Lana
(details about versions are on my profile)
Bonus:
The rest of the family, the sleeping beauties

I would tend to be more inclined to get "sibling" dolls. More veriety that way! But if I was going to get twins, it would be specifically because I wanted to make one different from the other in some major way. Say, one male and one female. One sweet lolita and one a hard-core goth. One sleeping and one awake.
I really love admiring other people's twins though .
