Tiny zippers, IRL?

I don't want to order them online.

But does anyone know a store that might carry small zippers? I've only ever seen JoAnn's go down to 12", and I'm looking for more the 7" range, maybe 4"-5".

I DID google it, but best I found was some site that hasn't been updated since 2006. And like I said, I'd prefer to find them offline.

I had already found that site, but I'm not interested in ordering online. They also don't have the colors I need.

Sadly, it's the best place I can suggest. All the brick and mortar places have turned out the instore stock that I know of

Yeah, I don't think I've ever actually seen small zippers in a store before, but I assumed that was because I wasn't looking. D:

Oh well...if online is the last option, I guess it'll have to do. xD;

My Hobby Lobby had some doll buckles for clearance... back in 2006. After that, it's been a long and dry haul.

If you are only looking for just a shorter zipper not smaller in overall size.... you can always just cut them to the length you need. Cut them at the top. It works for even open bottom zippers.

Also most zippers can be dyed. Color the zipper heads with a sharpie

I have ordered from Tiny Zippers many times - they ship pretty quickly and if I remember correctly their shipping is reasonable. I have never seen the things they sell in a store.

Tiny Zippers is like the only place with a good range of colors for zippers in doll scale, next to trying to find a wholesaler and buying a lot of zippers.
I don't use the silver zipper stops anymore though, I just zigzag in place over the ends to create a stop. You could whip a couple stitches around the top by hand on each side too. Plus the thread coordinates with the outfit better.

I'm seconding blackbox' reply. Find zipper with small teeth and head so it doesn't seem to be too oversized, then cut off from top to size =).

Try looking at independent fabric stores. In Louisville, KY, for example, there's a giant 3-story one that has all kinds of tiny findings...I would have never found it if my girlfriends wasn't like, "HEY LET'S GO TO THE FABRIC PLACE DOWNTOWN." If I was in town all the time I'd way prefer it to corporate places like Michael's -- they have vintage fabrics and patterns and the nicest people, too. Indie stores are the best!
