Volks Super Dollfie in "Vogue Nippon" magazine!
So according to this week's Volks email magazine, Super Dollfie are debuting as models in this month's edition of "Vogue Nippon"! I have no idea what sort of article or anything -- they were purposely vague and told us to check the November issue of Vogue Nippon (on sale "late September") for details. But considering that it's Vogue, anything is cool imho!
I'm hoping that maybe some of our members in Japan will be able to pick up the magazine and let us know what the scoop is?

Although if I ever see Paris Hilton toting one around in a Versace dog carrier, I'll be torn between a desire to laugh hysterically, and the desire to cry a lot...

Seconded. I feel for any doll a starlet ever gets her slimy paws on.

I really doubt that ABJDs will ever become a hip celebrity accessory! So no need to fear in that department. I'm sure it has something to do with ABJDs' photogenic abilities and of course their close link to fashion. I buy a VOGUE Nippon every month so I'm excited about the new November issue! I'll have to keep an eye out for it. I wonder if they are out today? It is practically October already.

Ok so I scootered down to my local bookstore and movie rental place and picked up the November issue of VOGUE Nippon. It took me a minute to find it, but there is an article called "Tough Love" that shows four different Volks dolls wearing "tough" fashions. The four heads are: Michele, F-07 (Nono), F-01, and an F-29. At least I think that's who they are, I could be wrong! At first I thought the heads were photoshopped onto real models' bodies, but on closer inspection you can see that joints are still visible, and the hands are resin of course. The clothes may have been photoshopped on but I can't really tell. The kicker for me is that white leather jacket, but I suppose something like that could have been made SD-sized! Anyway, the heads appear to be on SD16 bodies. The last page shows profiles for each of the "models" and it doesn't actually say who the real dolls are, but it does have a link to Volks.

Oh wow, that's FANTASTIC! I love it, they look soooo awesome! Thank you so much for sharing that with us!!
I was wondering, could you scan/photograph the text areas in a bit bigger for me? Then I could translate them I noticed the first page has that big text block plus some smaller text down the bottom, and then the "profile" pages have some text as well.. anyway I'm just curious and I'd love to see what it says. Whenever you have the time to do so, of course!!
Wow, way to go Volks!

I'm not sure if they put the heads on SD16 or SD13 bodies. My guess is SD16. Can anyone tell which one it is?

If you look at the abs and collar bone sculpts on "Veronique" "Heidi" and "Ellen" you can see that they have the SD16 body, but "Naomi" is on an SD13 girl body. I guess if you always wondered what those heads would look like on a bigger body, now you have your answer.
Cassiel, I don't have a scanner but I will try to take better pictures tonight or tomorrow. Maybe someone who has a scanner could get clearer pictures?

They look really cool. Reminds me of a more "clean" and stylish version of this photoshoot.

I love the spread, and its giving me inspiration to try something similiar. The clothes are pretty boring as compared to some of the fabulous bjd clothes I've seen tho...

I'm sure that big metal belt is from a recent Dolce & Gabbana collection... in fact I think I can just about make out the words "Dolce & Gabbana" in the paragraph on the first picture. That would suggest that this is a photo-manipulation.

This is such a fantastic idea! I'm going to have to try and grab a copy at Kino
I agree with Rhian, that belt is definitely Dolce & Gabbana!

Definitely looks Photoshopped to me. The poses and bodies-in-clothing look more like real human flexibility and proportions. I bet folks more familiar with Vogue could rummage up the original shoots. I think they just took photos of the dolls heads/necks and limbs in the appropriate poses and shopped them in.

I saw it in person today, didn't pick it up, but I don't think it's photoshopped. It was pretty bizzare, but interesting.

What a beautiful idea! I have to agree with the people who think this is photo-shopped. I think it's the posing that's giving me the unsettling vibe.

Definitely Photoshopped, but the concept is wonderful! Definitely something people could pick up and run with in other photo shoots.
