The new girl is home! Pics and a couple questions

The new girl is home! Last month I ordered Daisy from Dolkot and she arrived on Monday. Though there's much I like about her, I'm having some reservations. Her body sculpt is very sweet and I like her proportions, though I really don't like her torso joints. I sorta feel like her head is too large, too. Her resin seems of decent quality though the texture put me off at first. While my other doll is silky smooth, Daisy has a distinct texture; I suppose that will wear down(?). In the past couple days I've thought about selling her. It's not that I'm dissatisfied, I'm just wondering if I wouldn't be happier with a different doll. So my question is: Have others here received a doll and had it not be quite what you wanted? Did you hang onto it or sell it? What were the factors that led you to the choice you made?

My little concerns aside - my goodness, she's photogenic! Looking at these pictures I can see how I fell in love.

A little pink outfit I'm working on.

Not her best angle, but such a pretty kimono!

Thank you for your input!

She's so cute! I love the eyes you gave her. Her wig is super adorable too.

I still don't have my first doll. (I'm waiting for her to come in right now!)

What I'd do if I didn't like some parts of a doll is I'd weigh the pro's and con's. Two pro's right now would be the body sculpt and how photogenic she is, while con's would be the texture and torso joints. I guess just think about what is most important to you. Would you be able to get around the texture through a little Magic Eraser action, or is it something that just bothers you to no end? Is there hope for the joints via sueding or wiring?

I hope you can figure out what the right decision is for you!

Aw, thanks. She came with random eyes and they look so nice.

Her texture has smoothed out with handling and I'm quite a bit happier with that issue. I'm still not wild about the torso joints but meh - I'll live. For the time being I'll keep her but if there's another doll that I think I'll be happier with, I may sell her at that point. Either way, I'm enjoying how nicely she photographs. Thanks, and hopefully your dolly comes soon!

ifyou like the head and not the body, try making a hybrid with another doll company! I have a minifee shushu head with a souldkid body and I love how she's different in size/proportion to my OTHER minifee shushu. :P

It's kind of a gamble with the resin matcheing, but always an option!

She is very cute, and I 2nd the hybridding. I have a whole slew of cross breeds at my place and frankly even resin that not a perfect match can look pretty good. My Unoa/Minifee hybrid isn't too close in color but with her faceup she looks just fine.

The doll (rather body) I received and was disappointed in is still kicking around here, I got a dollzone 65 and he is a pain and a half and I hate his double joints, but it's currently the only suitable body for the character he represents so unless I find something better, it stays

Thank you! I've been a little nervous about creating a hybrid doll but it sounds more do-able than I thought.

She's lovely! And shipped pretty quickly! How lucky. I agree with the others about hybriding. I know it's nerve wracking and you can never be too sure about resin matches but luckily there's a ton of people in the community who have done it and post their information! (thank god!)

Again, she's such a beauty!
