What is the most prefered doll maker company?
For me, there are more than one. Elfdoll, Dollzone, Doll Leaves, and lately, Soom (because of those Remaining Story MDs... they stole my heart).

What kind of doll interests you most? / What type of doll it is?
MSD-sized, somewhere in the middle between mature and childlike.
Elfdoll Lovely is pretty much the best example.

Would you prefer the type of doll in buying or the company first?
Doll.

Why would other buyers prefer other doll companies compared to Volk?
I like Volks (and own 1/6 off-topic dolls from them). But in resin, only SDCs would fit well with my collection right now, and they are too expensive for my budget (at least the ones I have seen so far on the second-hand market). And I also don't like this lottery thing

What really is good about BJD?
Is there anything bad about them? They are a great hobby.

What is the most prefered doll maker company?

For any size female, I like Supia and Elfdoll.

What kind of doll interests you most?

I love sculpts that look more realistic and less anime/manga.

What type of doll it is?

I'm liking the larger size the more I play with my new 60cm doll. I thought I wouldn't at first, but...

Would you prefer the type of doll in buying or the company first?

Doll first, then I find out about the company.

Why would other buyers prefer other doll companies compared to Volk?

I've never bought or handled a doll from Volks, so I have no idea what they're like, but I don't like their sculpts much. I prefer more realistic molds.

What really is good about BJD?

The amount of customization and creativity that they allow, and are great for photographing.

What is the most preferred doll maker company?

I don't think I have a preferred company. I like quite a few different ones.

What kind of doll interests you most?/What type of doll it is?

Right now I only have MSD sized dolls, but I'm looking into getting SD. I don't really know that I have a type.

Would you prefer the type of doll in buying or the company first?

I find dolls I like, then I find out about the company.

Why would other buyers prefer other doll companies compared to Volk?

I am not a big fan of Volk's sculpts, so I've never handled one. In my opinion they are a little overrated

What really is good about BJD?

All the creativity and freedom hey give you

What is the most preferred doll maker company?
For everyone? Every doll company is loved for XYZ reason so it really depends on what the collector is looking for. Some people are loyal to one company and some look for certain sculpts or aspects. For myself? Not that I can say from personal experience because my babies are in processing... But from photographs I like CP/Fairyland because of the sculpts, posing, and jointing. I tend to notice knees and elbows if they stick out and FL makes great joints that look realistic. I also tend to love pictures of IpleHouse dollies. I like their adults for their, um, sexy factor.

What kind of doll interests you most?
Minis but I like it when they look like little elfs or gnomes, which is why I purchased a PukiPuki. For larger dolls, like SD size I like the ones that look like an adult. I got the Feeple Chloe (SD size) because I wanted something big to make costumes for.

What type of doll it is?
My mini - CP PukiPuki Cupid
My SD - CP Feeple65 Chloe

Would you prefer the type of doll in buying or the company first?
Dollie first. I tend to be someone that is loyal to certain brands but when it came to BJD's I searched through every store and looked at all the dollies and sculpts before I settled on my Chloe.

Why would other buyers prefer other doll companies compared to Volk?
Why do buyers buy a Volkswagen and not a Toyota? I mean... Volks is not the only choice out there. It all depends on what you want, the type of doll, the jointing, the sculpt... all of it comes into play.

What really is good about BJD?
They pose, they are pretty, and you can make costumes for them.

What is the most prefered doll maker company?
I have quite a few that I like though I'm sure it wont be all that I'll be getting a pretty piece of resin from. DOD, DZ, Iplehouse, DIMdoll are a few of the many that I like.

What kind of doll interests you most? / What type of doll it is?
SD and Hounds. I like the big guys the most as it's easier to sew for them, put detail into their clothing and such. Plus I like that I can feel like I'm carrying them around unlike an MSD that weighs nothing in comparison.

Would you prefer the type of doll in buying or the company first?
If it's a doll I like who care's what company it comes from?

Why would other buyers prefer other doll companies compared to Volks?
Their sculpts aren't really all too pretty most of the time and looks more like something out of a manga. I go for something quite more realistic. Their prices are sky-high and all of those limited dolls they keep launching @_@ There are other companies out there who make prettier dolls at prices that are affordable. BJDs don't have to be so exclusive.

What really is good about BJD?
The creativity they inspire, the things you can sew and craft for them, they're great for photographing/drawing, they can cheer you up on a blue day ^^

What is the most prefered doll maker company?

-I'd probably say Volks since they were the first.

What kind of doll interests you most?

-Fairyland dolls. Their faces are just so enchanting!

What type of doll it is?

-I prefer females because they're easier to dress in my opinion.

Would you prefer the type of doll in buying or the company first?

-Probably the doll.

Why would other buyers prefer other doll companies compared to Volk?

-Most definitely. I myself don't like Volks.

What really is good about BJD?

I'm far from being an authority on BJD's but I'll take a crack at this.

What is the most prefered doll maker company?
In general, I don't know. I just know that I have seen quite a few incredible dolls from a variety of companies. Even some of the lesser known companies make some impressive items.

What kind of doll interests you most? / What type of doll it is?
Personally, I think MSD's interest me most. There is a certain cuteness factor that is almost guaranteed with them and they seem to be the size I would feel most comfortable with in a BJD. SD's seem a little bit oversized for a doll in my opinion but that's just me. I mean, at least for a starter doll, I'd go with something a little smaller before taking the full plunge.

Would you prefer the type of doll in buying or the company first?
Doll.

Why would other buyers prefer other doll companies compared to Volks?
The price is one of the biggest factors. Another factor is preference in appearance. Like others have said, there are many other companies that make dolls that come across more artful and expressive. However, Volks dolls do have their own beauty. It's just very much influenced by manga and Japanese culture and it shows. Nothing wrong with that, as I love manga. But when you look at Volk's models, you can't deny that they look solid and far from cheaply made. And I think there is a certain amount of prestige associated with the Volks brand because of their role in the BJD culture as a whole. The question of why people buy from other companies than Volks is all about which doll models they found most impressive for one reason or another, combined with which company fit within the boundaries of what they were willing to pay.

What really is good about BJD?

For me, I'm impressed with the quality and how easily they can be posed. It's art to me and I respect art.

I really really like sculpts from Migidoll, and I'm in love with Leeke Mihael, Khal, Zaoll luv and Muse, so... it's not easy to choose! (Oh, and Elfdoll Vivian, Sooah, Supia Rosy...)

What kind of doll interests you most?/ What type of doll it is?
I realise I like male dolls that look a bit feminine, haha, though that wasn't what I was particularly looking out for: my dolls just turn out this way, before I realised it. But I like sculpts that aren't just prettily smiling at you. No, scratch that. I like dolls the most when they have a personality and it shows

Would you prefer the type of doll in buying or the company first?
Sculpt first, then company, though I'm really biased towards Migidoll.

Why would other buyers prefer other doll companies compared to Volks?
Why not? It's the sculpt that they like, and if Volks doesn' thave what they want, they can always find something else they like. Volks has its plus points, but for me, I don't particularly like their sculpts, save for a few, which are er, really expensive, so... I'll rather use that money and get other dolls, since the Volks dolls I like aren't high on my dolly wishlist, and they cost more than the ones higher up my wishlist.

What really is good about BJD?
One word: Customisable. I like dolls, but I love bjds cos they're so highly customisable. They allow me to see my OCs in some solid form

I'm relatively new to BJDs, so keep that in mind

What is the most prefered doll maker company?
I have a doll from Dream of Doll and am looking to get a KDF from Luts. I also like a few Ringdolls and Asleep Eidolon dolls, but in general it's the doll I fall in love with more than the company.

What kind of doll interests you most?
Other people's doll XP By which I mean I love seeing what other people have done with the same base sculpt. I have trouble seeing the possibilities of the base sculpt, and it always amazes me what people can come up with!

What type of doll it is?
I tend to be drawn to SDs and MSDs. They're a good size for me to make clothing for.

Would you prefer the type of doll in buying or the company first?
I look for dolls that I like. I might decide against buying it if the company has bad reviews. Luckily, for me falling in love with a doll is a process that takes several months, so I have plenty of time to do research.

Why would other buyers prefer other doll companies compared to Volk?
To tell the truth, when I first started looking for a doll, Volks was the only company I knew about and it bummed me out. I wasn't in love with their style, and they were even more expensive then I was expecting. Then I did some more searching around and found a doll that was more what I had envisioned.

What really is good about BJD?
Whenever I look at my doll she makes me happy. And for me that's no small thing

The dolls can become whatever you dream of. There may be one million dolls that come from the same mold but there will only be ONE of whoever you create from it. That's the amazing and addictive beauty of BJDs.

This basically sums it up for me EXACTLY! This is why I couldnt resist buying the two that are on their way, though they will likely be my only two this is not a hobby I can afford to go overboard with!.....

What is the most prefered doll maker company?
The dolls that seem to get the most attention are the Korean dolls, (including, but not limited to) Soom, Fairyland and Luts, Dollmore, Dream of Doll.

My favorite doll, and most of the dolls currently on my wishlist are from Chinese companies. I love Loongsoul doll, Dollzone, SpiritDoll, and many of the new Angell-Studio sculpts.

What kind of doll interests you most?
I like tinies and 1/3 scale dolls. They have to be at least decently pose-able, especially in the elbows and torso. 1/4 dolls are cool, but kind of an odd size for me.

Would you prefer the type of doll in buying or the company first?
I look at the doll first, the sculpt first, but especially the body and how pose-able it is. When I was shopping for my first 1/3 doll, I knew I wanted a girl. I was really impressed by a review of the Loongsoul 62cm boy dolls and when I heard that they would be coming out with a female doll, I chose to hold off buying until then. I have never been disappointed by my LS girl, and I'm actually a bit spoiled by how flexible she is.

The next thing I look at is the company's reputation and overall quality... the actual brand of doll doesn't matter all that much to me. I also consider price... Fairyland dolls are beautiful... but I can't see owning one simply because of the price.

Why would other buyers prefer other doll companies compared to Volk?
Because there are so many choices! Volks isn't to everyone's taste. It's like sticking with vanilla when there's a Ben & Jerry's smorgasbord on the table (if you like ice cream, naturally. :P)

I don't particularly care for their sculpts. I saw one recently, at a doll meet... it was a sculpt that I had heard was highly coveted and sought after... I really couldn't see what the hype was about.

What really is good about BJD?
Networking and chatting with other doll owners. I also really enjoy doing faceups on my dolls. Plus, all the little miniature accessories are loads of fun.

I prefer Dollzone and Longsoul the most, I think Dollzone because it was the first company I bought a doll from and I always like at least half of their face sculpts and their bodys are nice too, not super awesome but very nice ^_^ as for longsoul I like their company because of the body and innovative jointing for the 60cm boy and 58cm girl hip joints which make them pose awesomely!! also I like that they have a 75cm boy size and their faces are very refined and pretty.

What kind of doll interests you most?
There is no one kind I like the most... I like to get all diffrent size ranges and not repeat the same size, like if I have a 44cm slim msd girl I will not get another of the same size, I will get a more chunky MSD girl but not another slim MSD girl.

What type of doll it is?
N/A

Would you prefer the type of doll in buying or the company first?
I first care about the doll and asthetics and articulation and size, after that I think about the company, but I tend to look at my favorite companies more often though so there is a higher chance that I will buy that company's doll.

Why would other buyers prefer other doll companies compared to Volk?
well besidse the price I really don't like Volks dolls. Their bodys I find are a little blocky and their faces are almost all really unattractive to me for the pictures I've seen on their website, it seems to me like their faces are a little smushed>< although I have to say that the 2 volks dolls I have seen in person were very pretty so idk and I'd rathe be sure I'm getting the exact doll I want, rather than trying to make a doll i'm not sure about work... especially since it will almost always have a higher price tag. though I would like to go to the LA store sometime in the future ^_^

What really is good about BJD?
their beauty, how the resin feels, and just the freedom of being able to make them how you like.

To me? I would say fairyland. I wasn't big on them before, but ever since I got my minife girl, I've been in love with them. Them and Unoa. TO HYBRID ON THE MINIFEES! MUAHAHAHAHAHA!!

What kind of doll interests you most?
I prefer more unique sculpts, as opposed to the normal "pretty girl" or "pretty boy"
I like masculine men and strange but beautiful girls.
And the occasional overly adorable yo-sd ;D

What type of doll it is?
My favorite doll currently in my possesion is my Minifee/Unoa hybrid. Between her poseability and her beautiful face, its hard to not be in love

Would you prefer the type of doll in buying or the company first?
I prefer the type of doll. I don't just generally love a company's face sculpts, though i do if they have amazing bodies like fairyland. I love dolls based on thier faces, and bodies by proportion, joint placement and by delicacy of the hands

Why would other buyers prefer other doll companies compared to Volk?

This is just my opinion, noone get hurt butts, but I despise volks dolls. I don't like anime looking dolls, and I like nicer proportions and poseability. I feel that they are overpriced for what they are, and a ton of the volks people I know around here are very mean to non-volks fans. I don't feel like what they do is unique enough or even at all cute and it doesn't appeal to me at all.

What really is good about BJD?
Everything! Ball joitned dolls are a mixed medium art that captures everthing I love! Discovering Bjds was like discovering video games, its something I think I will do forever. I may get tired of it occasionally, but I will always pick it back up. I feel like I found my niche with dolls, and I couldn't be happier!
