Does anyone have experience with teeny tiny scratches appearing all over their doll?

I've had my Resinsoul Mei for about a year. Every time her hand scrapes against her face or body, a tiny mark appears that's only visible in the right light. I've experimented a little on the inside of her headcap, but it seems like it's only resin-on-resin contact that causes the scratches. I'll try and get a picture later today. It's not exactly a problem, but it's very weird. Could she be coated in something from the factory that scratches very, very easily? Does anyone else have any experience with something like this?

Thank you!

Hi Musichetta! It sounds as though she might have a coating.

Some dolls are coated with various fixatives - it might help for you to re-coat her with a really good one that doesn't scratch as easily.

I use Mr. Super Clear when coating my dolls. (It comes in flat and gloss. You probably want the flat. And I think Mr. Super Clear has a UV protection one now.) But there are various other sprays people use, as well. You'd want to clean her really well before recoating - like, take her apart and wash in cool water and dish soap to remove all traces of oil, then handle her with gloves. Rinse and allow to dry well then coat evenly.

Good luck!

Yes, this does sound like an issue with the sealant that was used on the doll's face up. If the scratches are subtle, another coating will likely hide the scratches.
