If you're having trouble figuring out how to post an ad with the new classifieds system, hopefully this tutorial will help you figure it out. :)

Please note that you can click on any of these images to make them full screen if you're having trouble viewing them!

First of all, go to the Classifieds section...

...and click on 'New Ad' in the category that you want to post an ad in. For this tutorial, we're posting a clothing ad.

The 'new ad' form looks like this:

First of all, enter your ad title in the 'title' box (makes sure it's clear and explains your ad succintly) and then click on the 'browse' button to choose an image to upload from your computer. (You don't have to upload an image, but it will make your ad more appealing to buyers.)

Next up, enter your price (if you are selling) and choose what type of ad you want from the dropdown menu: FS, FA, WTB, WTT or Group.
FS: For Sale. Make sure to pick an asking price!
FA: For Auction. You can either link to an external auction (Ebay) or host your own auction here, editing the ad each time you get a new bid to reflect the current highest bid.
WTB: Want To Buy. Instead of listing a price, state your offering price range within the thread itself.
WTT: Want To Trade. Instead of listing a price, state within the thread what you are willing to trade for.
Group: Group Order. Instead of listing a price, outline your terms and conditions for running your group order.

Next, choose the duration of your ad from the dropdown menu:

Now you can enter the text of your ad along with any images you'd like to enter! You can do this just like entering images in a normal post in the forum: click the yellow 'image' button in the editor and enter your image URL in the popup box.

And just like in normal forum posts, you can use any of the buttons to format your post, such as making parts bold, or centering things.

Don't forget to enter the shipping prices if you are selling an item!

Once you're done, click the 'Submit New Ad' at the bottom and your ad will be entered into the system. It will look something like this:

If you want to make any changes to it, simply click the 'Edit Ad' link, as shown above. You can do this at any time while the ad is still active.

And don't forget, when you sell the item, make sure to come back and click 'Close Ad' and include the name of your buyer (or seller or trader) somewhere in the text of the ad. Remember, though: don't delete your ad! if you do, your buyer won't be able to leave feedback for you!

And, we hope that helps! As always, if you have any problems or questions regarding the classifieds section, please don't hesitate to PM a mod (http://www.abjds.com/forum/showgroups.php)!

Thank you, this is great information. I have not been here long enough to post in classified yet but I plan on being able to soon.
