Okay, so I was browsing the DoA forum and came across this thread about conversation with people about your dolls. If you want to post pictures thats fine. This isn't for photo stories about your dolls.

So I'll start this off. Basically this happened between my grandparents and my sister.

Grandma: What the heck is that thing?!
Me: That's Hayate my newest doll.
Grandpa: He looks a bit like a girl from here...
Me: -_- Well he's definitely a boy.
-my sister practically runs in-
Sister: Yeah He has a peenie! Wanna see it!?

My grandparents gave her and me one of those o.O looks.

Then she goes to pull his pants down and show off his boy parts...

The same thing happened when my boyfriend came round. Except then she said " see Lucy, I told you Hayate had a bigger peenie than your boyfriend"

I facepalmed at that and my boyfriend look horrified. I need to lock her up when I have company.

Lol, we have a thread just like this at the danish BJD forum too.

"I need to buy him some new eyes, the ones he's got is too big."
"His body needs restringing, he's so weak-kneed that he wont stand!"
"I got a brand new body yesterday!"
"You just need to hot-glue the joints of his knees and he'll pose better.."
"Just pop off his head, it's easy"

There are so many more and people really do look at one sometimes like you've grown a second head xD

Funniest discussion I've had was explaining a big gash I had across my forehead.

"Trixa, how in the world did you get that scratch?!"
"Well, I was blushing Lex's body and stupidly picked him up by the legs. He promptly bowed, cutting me right across the forehead with the huge hook he has jutting from his neck."
"...WAT."

Best doll-related injury ever.

This was a dinner discussion with just my mom & dad.

Me: "Well just to let you know I've ordered a doll & he should be come here soon."
Mom: "So is Brian (my fiancee) also going to be getting his own doll soon like your friend Ryan?"
Me: "Well he treats my dolls very well but I don't think he'll ever get his own."
Dad: "Yeah cuz he's a Manly-Man."

This made me feel a bit shocked considering my dad is very accepting of all people etc. but also cuz the before mentioned doll was actually Brian's... lol I'm glad I didn't let that slip. Now I know my dad's honest opinion of such though which makes me a little sad.

my roommate (who has been my best friend for 14 years) is so shocked by how much my dolls cost that she insists on showing them to everyone who comes to our house and having them guess how much they cost. then she tells them "oh but don't worry, they're worth that much. they're anatomically correct." then, of course, she has to show them their manly bits.
also, occasionally, i'll come home to find that she has put them in sexual positions. *sigh*
