Volks Tenshi no Sato Autumn Event! YoTenshi, Wings, new KoTenshi standard, new FCS...

Volks have announced that they are having another Autumn event at Tenshi no Sato this year!

Like all Sato events it is restricted to VS/VIP club members, who will be sent invitations in late September.

The dates of the event are October 6-8 and 12-15 -- so seven days altogether. Sato will be open 11am-5pm each of those days. :) I expect, though, that any LEs will sell out very early on.

Volks haven't announced what LEs they might be making available at the event but I expect information about them will be included with the invitation sent, so I'm sure something will be posted on the website after that. :D Here's hoping for more YoTenshi!

I would so love to go to this event however I don't think I can get it together in enough time to leave the US for Japan.. I hope everyone who goes has the best time.. I was at Sato at end of the year and would love to see Kyoto in spring or Autumn.. the gardens must be lovely..

I've had a hunch there might be an event one of those week ends since August when I noticed those dates were unavailable on the Sato Reservation page. It's nice to have things officially confirmed though.

I can't wait to see the pictures of the new releases. I suspect there will be more Momiji wings.

Absolutely no clue! Heh. They never announce any details until the day, they prefer to surprise people. :) That said, the Japanese fans tend to get pics up on the web pretty quickly, so hopefully we'll get info that evening or within the next few days. I'll be browsing for pics/info so when I find anything I'll post. :) (Volks technically don't allow you to take pics but the Japanese fans are pretty sneaky with their camera phones. :p)

Yes, I am attending the event. I will take as many pictures as I can, and will try to get pictures up here on the night of the 6th since my hotel has LAN internet.

In my limited experience, it is easier for the Japanese fans to clandestinely get pictures of the one-offs. They're pretty strict around the FCS room itself. I can at the very least let people know how many new heads and give impressions, and if I could figure out how to use email on my rental cell phone I could email lol

And yes, I have a good friend who does not collect dolls who has loaned me her address several times before and as long as I leave her shipping money, will accept my Yo for me. Yuu is cute, but I've wanted a Yuki since 2005, so this is very happy for me.

I'm probably going to go the 6th (because the wings do sell out) and the 12th to place a FCS order.

I suspect they want to fill in the blank spots for MSDs for the heads they retired.

I'm sure even if Mark and Elena start as Sato only, they'll become Sumika, wasn't it like that with Kun, Yori and Link at first?

I'm glad you have somewhere to get your Yuki sent. That means no problem on getting one for sure. :) I wasn't sure as the way they wrote it on the site was rather vague, but over on DoA Ria_ria said that all VIP/VS members can order Yuki and/or Yuu 100% guaranteed. So I take that to mean that no matter what, you can place your order for them at any time during the event. (I still think going on the 6th is preferable to make sure of it, plus as you said the wings sell out, and I'm certain they're going to be pretty!)

And yep, Kun, Yori and Link were originally Sato only but they got added to Sumika FCS later. However it was much later.. like about a year. *_* I remember because I was in Japan for the initial event when they were released in October 2004.. and they were added to Sato FCS at the same time. Whenever you buy a doll at a Dolpa or Sato event, (it must be an event, regular Sato visits do not count) you get one stamp per I think 1000 yen spent. At Dolpas you then can turn in the cards for lottery tickets at Dolpa to win Sei-tenshi and Rei-tenshi. The cards are marked used, and the cards should be saved for something else, but I am not sure what yet. lol

You should try to come out when there is some sort of event, I've never lived in Japan, but I've gone an awful large number of times and try to always time for something.

The wings only work in the dolls with magnets embedded in their backs. Only the Yo SD-tenshi come with them embedded inside. People do swap the torsos around though to make their non-tenshi able to have wings.

The magnets are quite strong and attract through clothing.

When did you get your VS Membership? It expires after one year. You can renew it at any Volks store though I think, or if you call Volks. They put some info in the most recent mail magazine about it.. if you can't get to a nearby Volks store, call their Membership Department: 075-813-1171
Can you express yourself well enough in Japanese to explain your situation? Or know someone who can? Alternatively if you can't, you could possibly email them in English and ask them about it.
I would definitely do so sooner rather than later though -- they said the invitations to the Sato event will be going out to arrive roughly on October 1st, so you definitely want to get it sorted out ASAP. :)
(They're also apparently sending out new Members Cards, woot! AND applications for a 2008 Huis Ten Bosch event, which I guess means that the 2007 one went well enough that they're doing another! :D)

I'm sorry I can't read more info about it, the pics are too small! The person who posted the pics noted that the wig and eyelash colour seems different to normal Yuki.

I can't read much beyond what we already know, that it will be a Sato Standard.

The "forget-me-not" coloured YoTenshi Wings are definitely a pale blue, you can see a pic of them here, on the left-hand page:

So the three shapes are the same as usual, it's just the colour that is different. They are 4,725yen per pair.

FCS
There will be one new MSD FCS head (F-20) and two new SD FCS heads (F-35 and F-36). All heads are of course Sato-only. There are no pics of the SD heads yet but there is a shot of the new MSD head as boy and girl here:

In addition, they are adding three new wigs -- one new MSD wig (W-114 in 10 colours) and two new SD wigs (W-120D and W-121D in 10 colours each). The two SD wigs are DD size. All wigs will be Sato-only for now.

In the photo pureskin Yuh next to whiteskin Yuki almost makes Yuh look like sunlight skin.

On the Yo outfits I really like chef outfits. I can picture little yos holding out trays of fresh baked cookies and treats. The "syaoran-like" outfit I can picture on one of my friends' dolls it's so him.

Today I had my Japanese friend call the Volks membership line and they are sending me an invitation within the next few days. :D So I will be going to the Sato event! This is actually my very first Japanese event since every Dolpa they have held since I've been here has been at an inconvenient time. Either I am traveling somewhere or I have made previous plans.

Also, my Japanese friend was unnecessary. There is a man there that speaks perfect English, so if anyone needs to contact the Volks office in Japan there is someone who can help you! I think he's one of the people who answers English E-mails as well. He lived in England for two years and has a lovely British English accent. He was oddly surprised when I asked him if he studied English in the UK. "How did you know?" The accent is a dead giveaway. I've lived in Japan for over a year and believe me when I say that his English is amazing--it's better than most Japanese English teachers I know. And he was so friendly and helpful.

Now if I could just stop looking at Yuki's cute little face peering up at me from my Volks News book. I don't need a Yo-SD. I don't need a Yo-SD. I don't need a Yo-SD. Will this work? ;)

The eyes definitely look smaller in comparison to Elena's, but that could be an optical illusion since Elena's photos have her with those big eyes looming right at you.

Either way, Im loving the one on the farthest right, and he may be the sunlit doll that Im looking for. Yay!

Actually, I asked Ken Yamanaka, one of the Volks' employees if the F-35 and F-36 were the same as Mark and Elena and he told me officially they are not. They're just similar.

And yes those outfits were all LEs from the event. The boy's chef set and the girl's waitress set sold out in about 30 minutes. The boys' waiter set with the apron sold out last, and it was after 3 or so hours.

Officially similar, but the differences are minuscule. It would have been interesting to see the FCS and Mark and Elena heads next to each other to compare, but I guess that will have to wait until the first F-35 and F-36 dolls are produced.

Whatever the differences, they're both really nice sculpts with a lot of potential. One of the F-36 busts on display had charcoal shading around the eyes and white lips with soft grey lines - I think it was love at first sight ;)

Out of curiosity, I checked out some Japanese BBSes on the topic and yeah, it seems that they're different from Mark and Elena. I can't yet find any pictures, which is surprising, as usually the fans love to share them quite soon after these events. Maybe Volks were more alert than usual at disallowing photos?

Here's a quick translation of a couple of Japanese fans' impressions of the new heads as I thought it might help to hear other thoughts on them. (Sorry for the dodgy translation, just did it real quick as I should be studying.)

SD F-35:
a cute-type head
the eyes had a feel of being like they were almond-shaped eyes that had been squished into a more acute diamond-ish shape
her features had the feel of having cheeks similiar to Shinku's but somewhat slimmer (so said a friend who owns Shinku)

SD F-36:
eyes and mouth very similar to Mark
But the cheeks were Heath's
looks like a Western musician
an honest face; the bottom half is quite thin

MSD F-20:
pretty much like the pics
it has an open mouth, with teeth at the top and a space underneath

SD F-35:
the sample sitting on the counter had a strong Shinku feel
there were other samples but the Shinku one was the cutest

SD F-36:
type of head that's both realistic and anime-stylistic
the one with the faceup reminiscent of a foreign female model was surprisingly good

SD F-35:
quite child-like, somewhat slanted eyes, very cute
quite different depending on the faceup
I looked at the actual sample faceups, they were much more favourable compared to the pictures
as per usual their pictures are too poor

SD F-36:
very 'tough' impression
the shape is deep, the mold itself is quite thick
even without a faceup it looks like a face of someone who has bad habits
this one also changes quite a bit depending on faceup
the white sample looked like a vampiric severed head

Haha, poor Mark-ish head! He's already got a bad reputation. I saw a Mark in person for the first time last weekend and I have to say that he looks very sweet. So if the new F-36 looks anything like him, I find it hard to believe he can look like such a mean guy. I guess face-ups do make all the difference. I can't wait to see them for myself this weekend. :) Maybe I can sneak a picture with my keitei but I can't promise anything!

So I went to the event yesterday and I had a look at the new FCS. The F-36 is shown in the display case on a female bust. And two out of the three that had been painted were girls as well. The eyes are very large and sunken back into the head. The lips are also very large which is why it makes a more natural female head than male. But the male was cute as well. I don't think the display heads looked nearly as good as the one posted on the Volks site though. I was actually a little disappointed seeing it in person, but I think it would be a great female head.

Also, does anyone know when the Yukis and Yus will be shipped out? I asked in Japanese and I think the woman said, "Right now, we don't know." But my Japanese is terrible so I might not have heard her correctly.

No, they said the same thing to me when I asked the day before, that they were not sure when the Yukis and Yuhs would ship out. ^^;

I and another friend agree with the opinion that the white head looked freaky and somewhat zombie-like/severed head.

Personally, I thought the F-36 had much more of a frown than Mark and the cheeks were definitely shaved down.

F-35 also had more shaved down cheeks than Elena and the mouth is not as open. It also has more of a smile.

Wow, it's soooo pretty! I really like it! And it's definitely not Mark or Elena now that we can see it so clearly, I just compared it to both and the eye, nose and lip shape are quite different. Woot! New heads! :dance
