Hey Everyone!!!:D
I was wondering if you guys either used the day you got your doll as their birthday or giving a birthday on another day and celebrate? And also, if you do celebrate their birthday, do you throw a party for your dolls?
Random question I know, but I'm really curious about it. Please include photos!
I can't wait to see those pics!!

It's hard to remember exactly when I got each of my dolls (I only remember the month) and many of them are based on characters with different birthdays than the actual shipping date.
But if there was anyone around where I live that would come and bring their dolls, I would totally throw a birthday party!

I love to celebrate their birthdays! For me, it's their arrival date, and I celebrate each birthday as a day to remember all the wonderful things they have brought into my life since they first arrived. I often like to take pictures on the day too, such as...

...with cake, or...

...whatever delicious goodies they can convince me to give them. ;)
Birthdays are the best for everyone involved! :kisses

Nicco is a Dollzone Megi 2 in WS. Though he has yellowed a bit due to excessive amounts of love and packing him around with me.

I haven't thrown a birthday party for any of my guys yet. XD I haven't thought about it, since for some of them they don't want to remember the number of 'years' they have under their belts. XD Its hard when you have demons and fallen angels and elementals that live for hundreds, if not thousands, of years. The resin shell is just that, I'd probably do it ont he character's birthday rather than on the date the body arrived. But I've had these characters for YEARS.

Each of mine have birthdays, which are their arrival date. So I have a few that all have the same one - Simon, Sprocket and Marnie, for example. I don't normally do anything since early on I had them coming in fast and furious so there'd be something every month! My first, Riddick, did get a little celebration (http://www.flight108.com/bjd/page4/RiddickBday09/page99.html)with the crew, though. He's special and spoiled.

I've always wanted to hold a birthday party for my dolls (on their arrival dates) and invite my friends and their dolls, but whenever their birthdays roll around something comes up or I forget :sweat
Maybe i'll just hold a belated birthday for all three of them.
I did for Sasha earlier this year ^^ Made a little cake and gathered the guys. Didn't get him any present but he appreciated the thought anyway.

I can barely remember my own birthday. *_* I love the idea though. Any occasion to eat cake is good in my book. :D

When my first resin daughter gets here, I'm throwing a mini birthday party for her with my little sorority sister. It was actually her idea. lol.

I haven't really done that yet, but Vasiley(my first doll)just turned five, at october 18th and me and a dollowning friend got some cake to celebrate it xD I also want to do a small high-tea meet(because Vasy is mostly known for his love of tea time)to celebrate, because five years is quite a long time ^_^

Except for in cases where I already knew the character's birthday (rare), I use their date of arrival . . . or as close to it as I can remember :sweat. I've never celebrated a doll's birthday. I may do it one year for the three who share the same birthday.

What a sweet idea! I will have to remember that - I would probably use the doll's arrival date as their birthdate. (I have yet to have a BJD of my own).

This just made me realize my very 1st doll is supposed to be ariving right around my birthday through sheer coincidence! Maybe I'll get luck & it'll be the same day, and I have plenty of gifts to shower he with upon arrival! :)

Mine generally get an "anniversary" celebration versus a birthday celebration (most of them have very different birthdays than their arrival dates ^_^)--that is if I realize the date in time to actually put something together.
The latest one was for Rin (my Kohya who has been w/ me 4 years now):

I've done other anniversary shots, but most of the time I don't realize what date it is until well after its passed *laughs*
Lately, I've been plotting to try and remember everyone's anniversary. Mia (my Ani) is coming up on five years next Thursday (the 11th)--I hope to do something, but really a lot of it depends on my homework and stuff ^_^

Only two of my dolls have "birth dates". They are my first two dolls and the first one's birthday is on the day that I ordered him and the second one's is the day Unidoll said she was finished and they would ship her when I finished my layaway. Arrival dates are a bit tricky, because I have so many hybrids. ;)
Of those dolls that are also characters, I figure that they would have a birth date, but I haven't given them one yet.
I don't really throw parties, but maybe I should when my oldest doll gets to be 5 years old next year.

My first doll, Soah Nozomi-Cho, has had two birthday parties on the anniversary of the day she arrived. Her first was celebrated with a wee doll-sized cake, a single candle, and no humans other than my wife and I. (My wife's on oxygen, so no lighting that candle!) Her second was celebrated with our local BJD group, as it coincided with a meetup someone was having anyway. (Much as she'd like it, she hasn't had a party for all of the years she's been with me!)
Most of my dolls do mark their birthdays on the anniversary of their arrival, but 'Zomi's boyfriend Kisho-Ryuu (<- that's him over there) recently had his day made official. He and I celebrated Omukae together at Tenshi-no-Sato on 10/10/10!

My first BJD arrived a year ago this Dec 23rd,the day before Christmas Eve, he is my most spoiled doll and he is so getting a birthday party. It will just be my husband and I plus our dolls, but, he is getting a present and I will be making him a cake and taking pictures, so I suppose that qualifies, and he is getting new clothes for the occasion. A whole year,oh how time flies.

Birthdays? hell, yeah. Every occassion is good to give my dolls gifts :D
My biggest guy`s gonna be 2 y.o. in a few days, counting by the date of his making. At my home olny for 6ish months, but what a wonderful excuse to get him a custom tailored coat and a drawing of his character :D
Another one should be sometime in January and that`s the first anniversary of my minifee boy arrival :D I need to think of something special for him ^^

Give your doll a gift on their birthday - of course! Can't believe I've never actually done that. What a terrible mother! I'd like to throw a party for at least one of my dolls, even if primarily for a photo shoot. I've bought 1/3 scale candles, balloons, etc. I think it's cute how so many of you guys do bother to celebrate your dolls with real birthday parties, and real food! Good stuff :)
