My friend sent me a link to this doll made by Dollmore and could not decide if it was miraculous or creepy.

I couldn't find it again but "workshop" pictures show it is about the height of a toddler with the proportions of a young child. What are your feelings about such a large doll? Or owning one?

Too big :) It's almost like stealing a mannequin from a shop. On other hand, such dolls are perhaps the closest reflection of real people.

I think its cool but kind of creepy. I imagine the customization for her will be limited since there aren't many her size.

Dahlia is nicely crafted and gives me a definite art-doll vibe combined with a feel of an antique European doll. She is not my cup of tea, but I can definitely see somebody doing lovely, artistic things with her. (That could be said of any doll, though...) I know somebody who ordered her and I am so looking forward to seeing what she does with this doll!
I will admit to being unnerved by the see-through lace underwear shots in the Black Dahlia promo photos and there is the detail of the choice of name! But, other than that, I think she's definitely an intriguing doll, from an observer's point of view.

She's beautiful, but a bit too large for what I personally want. I don't care for the extremely large or extremely tiny dolls as much.
Not my cup of tea either, but its cool to see these companies busting out with really really big dolls. Its only a matter of time before we see more companies venturing into the 1/2 scale dolls.

I feel that she is unique and lovely. Not everyone's taste, but then no doll pleases every person. That is why there are so many sculpts, sizes and fashions.
I , personally, like her very much.

I prefer the smaller dolls, and I'm not feeling her cheeks. On the other hand, it's rare to see a doll with that much meat (resin?) on her. If only more companies offered that.

She definitely reminds me of the porcelain art dolls in my favorite Japanese books. Nikittin, you are so right about the name, though! And the promo photos. A little creepy.
Still, I would love to have her, I admit, if I had the money.

Part of her appeal I think would be to have the ability to get real little girl clothes for her to wear. Shopping for her outfits would be like half the fun!

The nearness of her proportions to a real life child is a bit creepy, but I find her sculpt to be just adorable! I would love to see one in real life.

Actually, after seeing some naked owner pics and comparison pics, she's really not a 1:1 scale child doll. Her body is not that of a toddler--she's more akin to a really big less developed msd sized doll than a really big toddler doll. She has a smaller waist/larger hips and the beginnings of breasts. I think it's the kind of body type that can be easily made to look very very young, but could be made to look a little older without difficulty too do to her body sculpt.
She's really interesting, however, she's the kind of doll that wouldn't fit in well with my group. I'll just admire other people's pics of her :)

I think she's cute and I like the idea of her being so big, but I don't know how it'd be to actually own her. As in the reality of her might be a bit much.
I also see why some people think she's creepy. She kind of reminds me of Claudia from Interview with the Vampire. She seems like an adult in a child's body to me, does anyone else get that?

She is a interesting doll. I have no dolls this large, I am more of a mini girl, but if I had the funds I'd consider it. I do have some issues with her face. I think she has to much cheeks for me, 2 bottom heavy.

For a doll that appears to be that of a life-sized child she is a little accurate in her more personal details for my liking (putting it as delicately as I can here).
I can imagine her being popular with those who long for some kind of child replacement though...
Very nicely done if a little over detailed but most definitely not my kind of doll. One for the broody I guess... ;-)

I think she's very adorable and I was seriously thinking of getting one but they're just too pricey for me, and I think I'm not ready to deal with that size yet. I like how she's so easily customizable though.

Oh man she IS big. I've seen many 70cm dolls but then again they are not life size but 1/2.5 man figure... She is definitely gorgeous tho. And her joints are unspeakably well done.

They have just released two white skin Dalia dolls and I think I am in love with the Ice Dalia as she would be just right for a horror movie doll project.
If only I had the money to buy one...

I'm kind of creeped out by her I have to say. She reminds me a little too much of those eerie porcelain dolls with the blank eyes the always seem too haunted for me to be in the same room as them.
There's also the idea that someone else brought up that they could very easily be some kind of child replacement and that's almost too weird for words.

I would LOVE to do a horror movie type doll, and if I was wealthy the Ice Dalia would be the perfect base doll to use.
Dirtied cute clothes, big knife, bloodsplatter, vacant eyes - all the horror movie doll tropes rolled into 80cm of resin.
Of course, I would not sleep in the same room as it, just in case...

I agree with the whole sleeping in the same room thing. I usually don't get freaked out by much, but when it comes to a certain type of doll, then I'm quickly reduced to a scared little boy.

She's very interesting, but too similar to certain art dolls (namely those of Ryo Yoshida) for me to be able to see her as more than an emulation of that aesthetic, though I doubt Dollmore directly copied anything. The influence is most definitely there though.
I don't think she would creep me out, although seeing her in the wrong hands as a "child replacement" would definitely be disturbing. The shots of her body are off putting enough - she looks like a cross between a 14 year old and a toddler. Very much a "nymphet" to make things literary. e_e

I think she's gorgeous. The close-to-reality thing doesn't bother me. In fact, I find it stunning and a real draw if the dolls look close to real. Size would be a factor. The bigger the doll, certainly the heavier. But the joints are well done and her overall appearance is wonderful. I personally would not buy her because I do not want a doll modeled in that age group. I prefer the more mature sculpts and bodies. But she is a very lovely doll and I imagine a real find for someone who likes that age.

Any more than reborns? Now THAT'S a creepy doll and the marketing for them makes me run like hell the other way...
I think she's cute, but for me a doll that sized needs to be an adult.

She creeps me out... Her face is really cute, but I'm not a huge fan of girlish dolls... especially one of that size... with see-through panties...
