I'm having some trouble remaining signed in to the forums. I don't know if it's anything to do with it but I'm using firefox on a mac.
The problem is, when I close the tab with the forum in then open another later I'm logged out, if I then try to log back in it goes through the usual logging in screen but once it loads the forum again I'm still logged out and I can do that till I'm blue in the face and it still wont log me in.
The only way around it that I've found is to clear my cookies every time I want to log in which is getting more than annoying now since I have to sign back into everything just to log into here...

Just to check, are you clicking the "remember me?" box when you sign in?
Also, I have noticed that in IE, the portal page won't ever show me as logged in, though if I check the actual forums, then it shows I am logged in.. can you check to see if that's the case? Or see if IE acts the same way firefox is?
Let us know, so it'll be easier for us to pinpoint what the problem is!

Yup, remember me's clicked.
Ah that may be it, if I go to the portal page while I have this tab open it does show me as logged in but if I close them all and open a completely new one it doesn't, but I am still logged in when I got to the forums. Very strange..

Ah ha, I was wondering if that's what the issue was! I'm not sure what's causing that, but we'll definitely check into it more and see what we can do to fix it!

Sorry about that, River! It was on my to-do list, I just am a bit flat out with Uni work atm! I'll get onto it later today as soon as I finish this essay I'm meant to be writing! If I can get it sorted I hope you don't mind if I drop you a PM and ask you to test it for me. :)

Of course feel free ^^
Actually it seems to just be my browser at home thats having the trouble. I use Camino at work and it doesn't do it at all.
Sorry for starting a new thread over it btw I was half asleep this morning and didn't see the bug report thread.

Hi River, just another question: are you using the default "Resinality" style, or one of the others?
I'm just having trouble replicating the problem so I'm trying to narrow things down. Sorry!

Yup, using the default

I am having a similar problem. I have to click on the redirect link and that takes me to the main page just fine, but if I wait for the auto redirect, it trips me out. I too am using Firefox on a Mac.

hmm.. I'm wondering if this is a Mac problem, which will be harder for me to figure out what's going on as I have no access to a Mac. XD; Anyway, we're still trying to figure it out! thanks for the patience in the meantime! =3

Yeah, I am on a Mac (Safari) and it does doesn't show me logged into the Portal page at first. I can view the rest of the forum, and when I leave the portal page, and then return, it then shows that I am logged in, but not after I sign in.
It also doesn't remember me, and I have to log in every time I close and open the browser.

I've got the same problem; I'm using Internet Explorer on an XP PC and the oceanzero theme. It doesn't do this when I use my laptop, only on this PC.

Okay guys, I played with the cookie and cache settings on the board, and it fixed the login issues I was seeing when using IE. Can you guys check to see if this issue has gotten any better?
Also from what we found on the support forums, there does seem to be a bug with Safari users with this specific version of Vbulliten.. still checking around to see if there's a fix for that.
Note: You may want to clear out your cookies once more if it doesn't seem to work. If it still acts up after clearing the cookies out, then i'll have to try something else. XD

I tried Firefox on my Mac and it never worked well with a lot of other sites beyond the forums so I gave it the heave-ho. Mozilla was also horrid. I am back to Safari and so far it is working well.

Hmmm... I use Firefox on a Mac and have been okay here ever since I joined. I show as logged in right away and do stay logged in. I'm using the old Firefox (ver. 1.5), though. :?

Well, it's logging me in fine now! Great!
Though, it still doesn't remember me.
