Ok - how often do you change your dolls' clothes? My NiNi only has two outfits - and one is cast off GI Joe stuff (which actually looks pretty dang cute (http://ehunt.smugmug.com/photos/382989950_Nj96x-L.jpg) on her:) but Hint has a dresser full of outfits and I like to change his clothes all the time - more than once a day on the weekends! Am I a freak???

Very, very rarely. :D I don't have all that much in the way of outfits at the moment; Nibs only has his default, I'm working on one for Peter, and R&G just have their Dollmore outfits and Dollheart outfits.

My guys only have one outfit so...not often ^^;; I don't really like changing them much either as some of them have the pain in the ass clothes that are hard to put on and take off.

Every day? Or does it still count if they're hanging around half-dressed half the time? XD I'm making new clothing stuffs on a pretty regular basis, so my resin gang gets outfit changes very frequently! (Which is also why they're nekkid a good portion of the time too. I'm horrible!) XD;

I think I could be a freak xD; I have the obsession to buy dolls more than I do buying or even looking for clothes for them xD

Once they're in something I feel they look "themselves"/"good" in, I generally tend to leave them in it until I get something new or need to change for a meet or forever xD;

I try to change them aout once a week. I have several, so it can take a while between dressing and undressing, deciding who should wear what, removing and reattaching hands, etc. Sometimes it feels like too much work, so they have to wait eight days instead of a week.

Some dolls I dress more than others I think, haha. Others look just fine the way they are. I'm a bit more fickle with some, they get changed around more often.

It depends--I have some dolls that aren't really that into clothes, and don't have large wardrobes, so I only change them occasionally. The one that have more clothes/are more into dressing up I change more frequently--especially if we're going to a meetup. I also like to dress everyone seasonally, and with cooler weather starting to set in, everyone got changed into warmer outfits.

I have...four MSDs. Three boys and one girl. They all kind of share clothes, besides the girl's outfits...she has three or four of her own girly things, while all the boys mix and match.

I'd say I change Naoyuki's clothes at least once a day. Zephyr kind of has his own outfit that he likes to chill in...and Ruki has yet to really set himself his 'own' style and outfit, so he's random.

Depends on if I'm traveling around with them or not. ^^

I change my guy's clothes about every three days. Sometimes I do it according to the weather. If it is a really cold day then he gets warmer things to wear and if it warms up he gets put into some lighter stuff.

Mine usually sit for weeks and sometimes even months in the same outfit. I finally switched around what my three girls were wearing just today, actually.

Not very often actually :sweat

Only when i'm bringing the boys out. And when they come back home, i'll help them change into their casual outfits or PJs.

When I'm in the mood or if I'm going to take photos of them. It's not unheard of for a doll to wear the same outfit for months at a time sometimes :sweat

I will occasionally change the outfits, most of my dolls have a few sets to themselves, do it doesn't matter anyways. :/ But if I feel they should wear something else, like lets say a Halloween costume for a meetup, then I will change them into that. ^^

Some of my dolls only have one outfit that they wear (My Catsy twins have both finally moved on from their defalt outfits, my two boys are still sharing a body and they each only have one outfit). My Elf Lishe has two outfits, and my Juri 06 switches between three or four and has another on the way. Yes... I do play favorites...:oops

For those that do have multiples, I will keep them in the same outfit for quite a while before switching them. A few weeks, a month. A lot with my Juri depends on what aspect of her story is currently being worked on.

I absolutely hate dressing up my dudes -_-; But that's mostly because none of them have any outfits that are absolutely 100% them yet, and so I'm still messing around with the bits and pieces of what I do have which doesn't really suit them entirely. The only exception would be Prince as I bought him with his default outfit because that clothing set just fit his character to an absolute T, but I'm a bit of a snob in that I don't like keeping my guys in their default clothes from a company, so even though it matches him perfectly, I don't like keeping him in it all the time.

Maybe once a week, at least once a month. One of my favorite things to do is to shop for my dolls, whether it's clothing, shoes, eyes, or random tiny miniatures. Needless to say, I have a lot of unnecessary stuff that I still couldn't bear to part with. XD

All my dolls have at least one or two outfits, but they share, and I mix tops and bottoms; similar-sized dolls with similar taste in clothes is a very good thing! Besides, I love changing their clothes, trying on new outfits, trying new jewelry and sunglasses. It's part of the fun of collecting them.

Not as often as I'd like to, actually and when I do, I rarely change them all at the same time.

I do like to change then when the weather changes, although some of my boys are still sitting around in summer stuff and it's cold now :oops

I will also change them for a meet, or if new outfits arrive. Other than that, they sit in what they're wearing for months at a time.

I have them in mostly the same clothes, though I switch around accessories and such. If I change their clothes at all, it has to do with season, though I don't have much of a clothing selection for them to begin with. They're CH Little Juniors and Custom House hasn't restocked their clothes in almost a year. :(

I get my doll dressed and undressed everyday, in the morning and in the night. Valentino only has 2 outfits and a jacket, but that doesn't stop me from dressing him up.

He could always be left with his clothes on day and night, but to me, that's not fun.

As they have a rather large suitcase of clothes I'd say I'd probably change most of the SDs once a month.

The MNFs and YO-SDs have a far smaller wardrobe and as such can remain in the same clothes for far longer. And, well, as I've sadly pretty much lost interest in the MSDs they hardly ever get changed.

Some outfits look so... 'right'... on certain dolls though that I find myself really struggling to foce myself to change them.

Mine are all based on characters, and with 30+ dolls, just changing all their clothes once would take hours. So, once they get an outfit, they pretty much stay in it, unless I put them in something else for Cosplay, or make them a new one, which again, with so many dolls, doesn't happen /too/ often.

VelvetBat
07-10-2009, 05:24 PM
I dress my dolls very rarely. For a few I have 2 or 3 outfits, but most of them only have 1 and will stay that way for a while.
I might make more outfits just for a couple of shoots in the future, but when I have made an outfit that matches the personality, I like to keep it that way. For example, I have 2 outfits for Varushka. But in her current outfit she is more Varushka then when she is wearing the other one. So she doesn't wear the second one.

I change their clothes each time I have a new idea of making another outfit for them. But it is usually just one doll being dressed and undressed for dozens of times while having her or his clothes being made. Another one just sits and watches ... waiting for the turn.

About once a week -- for Vega at least, since he has more clothes. Alerion only has two dresses, but as she accumulates more she'll definitely change more. I do get tired of looking at the same outfits, so I like rotating clothing. :)

It also depends on whether I'm doing photoshoots, and how sophisticated the outfits are. The more sophisticated the clothing, the less time they'll spend in them -- even if it takes me 15 minutes to put it on. *heh* But it does depend on whether I have time to get them out of their costumes and back into casual clothes!

Summer often has some freckles..and winter more blush x3

I used to do it at least once a week when I had a smaller crew :sweat
Now some of them go a month or more between changes . . . I really wish sometimes they could dress themselves. I like to change things up at least once in a while, and it does let you check them over for stains, etc.

As often as I can, but not as often as I'd like! I change Kit's clothes for photos and for taking him out. What he wears depends on where we go and the weather. The only thing that keeps me from changing his clothes daily is time and... lack of clothes. LOL! I'm working on the clothing part...

Well, once my three man crew (really, boy, girl, boy crew) gets here I'll be using all of the little bits and pieces of fabric that I have accumulated from making people clothing over the years to make all of the cool things that I have in mind for them.

That being said, they'll probably get changed as often as I can change them or as often as I finish an outfit, whichever comes first :)

My tinies clothes get changed more often then my MSD's but it really depends on the doll. My smallest doll, Shriara (14cm) has the most clothing and one of my Planet Doll Minis (27cm) has more than three times the clothing of the other two-but Nasrin is the most demanding and justifies it because the others could wear her clothes if they wanted to.

For mine it depends. Once the boys each get an outfit that is "them", they rarely change out of it. The boys mostly only HAVE one outfit each! My girls change slightly more often, but still only have 2-5 outfits each. Those are the minis and bigger.

The Puki and the Resinsoul tiny have a LOT more clothes, so they get changed a bit more often, anywhere from once every few days to once a month depending on whether there are new clothes coming, or a meet to go to, or photos to be taken. If I get a new outfit for someone they get changed into the new thing and wear it for a while.

It depends on the doll - a few of my girls like to be dressed according to their "mood", so I try to change them in and out of their outfits. Other dolls of mine tend to stick with one outfit or look and rarely change.

And yet others only have one outfit so far, and therefore never change!

So, it varies.

I change my lovely girls quite frequently. It's mainly because I've been sewing new clothes for them everyday, so I've been changing them into the new clothes to see how they look, and then I leave them in the outfit I think they look the nicest in XD
I havent changed Nariko much lately though. She looks pretty damn cute in a mod dress I made the other day, so I kind of want to keep her in it until I get bored of it for awhile XD

I've never changed my doll's clothes regularly. They get their clothes changed twice a year at the least; darker colored warm clothes for autumn/winter and lighter (both in color and fabric) clothes for spring/summer. ~hee-hee~

My girl has a very defined look and she only has 4 outfits. They're perfect for her and I don't feel the need to change her very often. My boys are more versatile and they have about 10 outfits between the two of them, so they usually get changed more often.

I have to admit, I don't change my two dolls' clothes very often-- partly because the girl has nothing nice to wear yet and I'm supposed to be making her a dress, and I wanted something fancier for the boy but now that he's in a real outfit I'm disinclined to undress him to measure for new clothes because I know I'll just leave him naked in a hat for weeks again.

My Ni Ni is actually the one that has the most clothes.. but she doesn't get changed daily.. All of her clothes are Barbie / TY dolls cast offs that fit her nicely. She winds up being left in an outfit for days or weeks on end.

Lesley has the least amount of clothes (slowly building as I buy) and I'll change his shirt every few days.. he has now just gotten his third pair of pants.. So I'll be able to change those more often as well (due to the fact that the first two were black so it didn't much matter whether they were changed or not). Though I have a feeling when not in photoshoots that I want the black jeans on him he'll be in the red ones.. the black jeans are my favorite.. but I can't get them to stop staining him, I always had to spot clean.. but the red ones don't stain so for lounging around he'll be safe from staining.

I don't actually just sit down and change my boys' clothes very often. Maybe once or twice a week, and typically just one boy (depends on my mood). Usually what happens is I set down to sew for them, and end up putting them in the new thing and then changing the other things to go with it. I do like having more things for them to wear, so as I make more clothes I find myself changing pieces of clothing here and there between sewing sessions, but again, not the whole outfit all the time.

I almost never change my dolls's outfits, mainly because I don't have enough outfits! I only have 1 or 2 spare outfits but they are Val Zeitler outfits that don't fit some of doll bodies that I have. I figure that once I've found a nice, well fitting outfit for a doll, I'm not going to bother buying more clothes for it.

My dolls rarely stay with the same clothes for a longer time, because I'm always sewing something for them :) at first they sit on my bed almost naked until little by little in a few days time they get their new costumes - and after taking pictures it starts again.

My dolls pretty much stay in their undergarments in their carrying case. I just got them about 1 1/2 months ago so they don't have faceups or anything and I currently don't have anywhere to display them in my home.

So as far as changing clothes Tacmota only has one japanese inspired outfit that I made him for an anime con I took him too and the same for Kitiblu. I must admit though that I am playing favorites as Kitiblu also has a cute little gingham tube dress that I threw together to take some photos of her and I just recently made her a red and white polka dot rockabilly dress that she will probably wear most of the time once she is on display (and has shoes) since it is the dress that my fashion illustration is sketched (I am creating the dolls after some illustrations of mine). I just cut out some pants and a new shirt for Tacmota that I will hopefully have time to sew today.
As for the future they will probably stay in the same clothes unless I make something new that I will model them in to sell.

I'm up to 13 dolls now (soon to be 14), and changing the outfits of all of them at once is a real mammoth task. They tend to stay in the same outfit for weeks or months at a time until I want to do a photoshoot with one or more of them, or I want to dress them up in something new for a meet. Sometimes I'll use one of them as a model for dressmaking, and they'll wear the finished garment for a while. But I just don't have the free time to spare undressing and dressing even one or two of them on a daily basis - and really, it's not needed anyway - it's not as though they sweat and make their clothes dirty. :)

My Davin, when he gets here, will be in the same outfit for most of the time, something I am making him myself (because for some reason it is impossible to find a simple longsleeve v-neck in black and light black slacks for Super Gem boys...I have checked all clothing sites I can think of!) I also may buy him a nice black suit--his character works in a funeral home as a mortician and he looks pretty dapper when he's forced to dress up.

Now I wonder if any Dollmore clothes would fit him...I found some really nice suits on there.

My ShuShu will be changing a fair amount, however...mostly because I forsee myself spending a fortune on MSD clothes from Nine9 Style. Such adorable outfits!

It really depends on the doll for me. I have some character dolls that are very picky about their clothes so they wear outfits that look good on them for a lot longer. I also have some that love just about anything they put on so they change more frequently. :)

My MSD girl changes quite frequently because I've only had her for a couple months so she gets lots of attention right now. I'm always making something new for her, too, and she's very involved in the process. AND, she is getting a sister soon so I want to make sure that they have plenty to fight over. :p I imagine when they've been around for a while that they might go more than a day or two in the same outfit. It depends on if I'm planning on taking them out or not. Usually they're in the PJs I made for them, but if I'm going somewhere, I'll decide who of the three is going with me, and then I'll dress them the night before. If I don't have any warning I'm going somewhere, I'll dress them then.

For some reason, I always have whoever's going with me dressed and ready before I even get started! :lol

I'm a horrible seamstress. That being said, my girls have one outfit apiece right now just because I haven't had the time or money to make or buy new ones. But it's not such a big deal for me... I actually intend to have only 1 or 2 outfits for my doll. He's a very casual type of guy so yeah, clothing fashions don't really interest him all that much. And i think white Tees and jeans on guys are cute so yeah.. he's sticking with them. :D I'm saving the $$ for stuff like eyes and wigs. Gosh are they expensive..:o

I change my doll's clothes every two weeks, just about. She only has a few outfits, so they make the rounds. Once I get more stuff for her, I'll dress her even more!

I don't do it too much actually, maybe once every few months. I'm lazy, and sometimes it's a bit of a hassle. I have lots of outfits, but it's nerve racking having to pull all my doll boxes out to get them.

I have to admit that I've gone from changing my four's clothes nearly every day to around once a week or two. :sweat

Basically, its either when I get tired of looking at what their wearing or they're about to go to a Meetup or even just out with me that I may change what someone's wearing.
