It's seems like I'm always in the process of pulling things together for an outfit or a photoshoot - the right wig, the right eyes, the right separates...

And it seems whenever I luck into an amazing outfit, I start looking for the right things to show it off.

Right now I'm (lazily) assembling clothes and getting props together for a little photostory I have in mind that takes place in an imaginary desert. (Not easy, as most of my stuff is in boxes while we show the house.)

What are your current doll projects, and what "perfect" pieces are you currently looking/waiting for...? :clap

My current project is looking for furniture for my incoming tiny. I want to get a 'room' set up for him. :D

I'd like to find a desk, tiny props, etc.

Mine is quite simple too ^^ I just want each of my dolls to have that perfect eye color that suits them and I think I'm on my way with three left to go!

i've got multiple complicated projects lined up. i'll probably discuss them on my blog or da journal later, and possibly upload my sketches on da later.

my main focus is designing wings and a costume for starscream, as well as megatron's cannon. he needs a cannon that goes well with a designer suit and doesn't make his butt look big. >>;;;

I always have an outfit or two in the works. I just got the third Volks Pattern Book yesterday, so now my project is tracing out all of the pieces. I'm definitely making my Amakusa an outfit based on the SD13B pattern in that book.

I generally don't have trouble finding eyes I like, but wigs are another story. My Cristal's red wig is slowly dying a horrible death, so I need to find a new one in that same color. And there's something just a little off about my Amakusa's wig, even though I love the color on him. I just found the perfect wig for my Yuh yesterday, though :).

Still working on Adrian's cybernetic mods. (:

Currently fabricating a 1/3 scale gun for him from styrene sheet and Apoxie Sculpt.

Right now I'm trying to get my head around medieval clothes for some of the gang.

Gaz has one in progress but I keep getting interrupted.

That and I need to find an MSD sized Speed Racer (old school, not film) helmet.

I'm about thiiiis --> <--- close to picking up some plasticard for experimental purposes; I want to start sculpting small pieces of armor (vambraces and greaves, for example) for a future project, and I'd like to have a fairly rigid substructure to build up on. I need to start sewing, too; time to get a "Sewing for Dummies" book.

The most immediate projects, though, are wigs, eyes, and faceups, not to mention a couple of bodies in there somewhere. The ever-growing doll family threatens to overwhelm me if I'm not careful. :XD

Plasticard can be heat-deformed with a scrapbooking heat gun, I think. Not tried it as almost everything I've made with it so far is straight lines. I might wind up using it as the base for Adrian's breastplate when I get to that part, though. (:

Exactly what I was thinking. :) If I get to it before you, I'll let you know how it works. I figure that as the base, with two-part epoxy putty on top for the detail.

Working on a Wa-loli dress for Masha out of some cool kimono fabric (luv Japan!) and an Okinawan kimono thingie.

Also reorganizing the dolls after buying a small glass fronted case out of the sunlight (I hope!) they won't all fit but hoping to get the most dear ones in to it..

Right now, my project is incessant hand sewing for my girls. More specifically, I"m currently working on a crap load of Victorian dresses, and for my latest girl, a BioShock Little Sister dress.

My current projects are finishing Peter's newest outfit (I'm stumped by a phobia of sewing itty bitty things - namely his belt); searching for a smaller wig for him (because he really does look ridiculous XD); figuring out faceups for both Rosencrantz and Guildenstern using my faceup head; and I'm doing my best to assemble a gigantic catalogue of clothes I want for R&G, because I refuse to sew for them (whereas with Peter, I refuse to buy anything). I should probably think about sanding Peter's more prominent seams, too. And I think I'll start figuring out where the heck I'm going to put R&G once they get here (or invest in darker curtains).

I'm slowly hacking away at Chester's completed ensemble. Need to remake my wig cap pattern and make a wig, redesign some of his clothes and make them, and find the perfect hazel-y brown that isn't way out of my budget. The last one has been the hardest, by far.

I need wallpaper for a room I'm making, plus I need to cut up and glue on some floor molding.

But every time I think I'm done making my dolls perfect... something else starts gnawing at me. I need to redo another faceup and am thinking about changing out another three pairs of eyes for nice fancy ones. It never stops! I love it. :p

I think (since faceups a nearly impossible here right now) that I'm going to start working on some more clothes for Zhuge Liang. I've been meaning to make him some appropriate clothes for ages, and just slapped him into jeans and t-shirts instead. ^^;

my only projects are rather boring- your simple doll planning. i'm working on sketching what i want the faceup for my school c and my sard will be on my tablet pc. it's been difficult to get something i'm happy with. i've also been researching fantasy art for costuming ideas for my sard. i eventually hope to design a few outfits for him and have them comissioned while he's still on layaway.

Oh, boy, lots of projects here. At the moment, I'm working on giving Azriel, one of my Shiwoo twins, his tattoos. If I get ambitous, I might fix his brother's angel wing tattoos too. I'm also collecting goodies to do a fairy-inspired shoot with my MSD Mika. I'm just waiting on the wig. ^^

In the upcoming months, I'm trying to finish up my Amakusa, Ryuu. He needs a face-up and I need to get him his body. I've got plans to make Azriel some really fun band t-shirts. And my first boy, Azure, is due for a re-face-up, which is scarier than hell for me. Buy while his head is gone, I might redo his tattoos too, as they're getting a little scratched up as well.

I'm working on pulling together appropriate props for my Victorian faerie gents at the moment. They're quite the little troupe of rogues, so it's a varitable litany of sin... Booze, tobacco, gambling, firearms, girly-pictures... They've been very bad boys. :XD

Fergus (Vampire Shiwoo selkie) has a trio of mid-19th century "French" CDVs on the way from one of my fellow Victorian photo-geeks. The pictures look very tame through the lens of 21st-century pornography, but in their day, they were absolutely scandalous things. :blush

Julian (BV Vampire Breakaway sidhe) already has his deck of playing cards ([coughs] And an extra ace stashed in his sleeve. :|). I'm working on making him some to-scale poker chips.

Ashley (BV Breakaway sidhe) needs a few cigars and a hookah. The cigars are proving harder to make than I thought they'd be, and I have yet to find a water-pipe that I liked.

Rone (Dreaming El aina-dhu) already has his old-school flintlock dueling pistols.

... and Alex ("Dreaming" Yder mod daoine) already has one nice bottle of wine. I just need to find him a to-scale pint (or maybe a keg, knowing him :sweat) and a few choice bottles of stronger libations.

I got my David Tennant head, so now I have to get him put together--he has nothing right now except a cap to cover his wigless head and a pair of eyes that are too big. I have smaller eyes and glasses on order, but the wig I wanted was out of stock so he still won't have hair...or a body. I want to get his faceup done, but I might wait till I have a wig so I can get the whole effect. It's a little nerve wracking--I've never done a faceup in imitation of someone else's character before. I may break down and do it this weekend wig or no wig.

I need to put in a clothes order for my girls, but that might have to wait until after I get the Doctor his body.

I have several dolls that need faceups redone--Frank and Aiden in particular, but Liam could use a new one too. My goal is to get them done by Resin Con so everybody can go looking their best (or at least the best that I can do).

Right now, I'm sewing an outfit for a friend's Beryl. Having all boys has not prepared me for the mass of chest that she has XD. I might try my hand at making a fur wig and a turtle neck sweater pretty soon though. Basically a lot of sewing, haha.

My main projects involve getting bodies for my floating heads and finalizing the look of some of my boys. I think one of my boys needs a new faceup more particular to his style and another of my boys need clothing more to his style. For the clothing part, trying to get that going is crazy. I make a few things, buy a few things. XD

I have a new--well, newer--body for Beowulf that needs to be taken apart and scrubbed down, and while I'm doing that I ought to wipe his current mediocre faceup and give him another, slightly less mediocre faceup. That way when I reassemble him he'll be wholly improved.

I'm also vaguely searching for a larger wig for Fahrenheit. Damn those huge F17 noggins! :sweat

i am currently working on designing my girl's scarring mods. i have tried for a year now to make clothes for her, and they all look ok but i guess i though something was missing. i figured it was time to hunker down and work on the mods.

i am not really confident in my ability to do scars. i was told i could use tacky glue and paint in on until i achieved the desired look. i will have to post my findings.

I'm sharing a booth with a friend at an upcoming doll convention. So i'm busy sourcing for materials and making more jewelry pieces. Also thinking hard about the booth decoration & display. And the prices. Quite a bit of work, but definitely exciting! :dance

Always working on the perfect outfit and props. Recently I started playing with making some doll bonnets for fun. It would be great to have their own room but that is a ways off. And keeping the doll room neat and organized is my full time project. LOL

I've got him almost all planned out.
He's a LeeKeWorld Romeo Head with a DoD DoI body and Soom U02 Graymarble eyes but I haven't found the right red wig yet.

My current project is very complicated. I'm in the process of sculpting my frist(and only) BJD. Its a gargoyle type BJD that's about 80cm(31.5 in). And I started sculpting it without every touching, let alone seeing a BJD in person before. Considering that though, I feel he's coming out pretty good.

Here's a picture incase anyone is curious:

I'm also in the process of making and embroiderying jeans for dolls so I can make money to save up to buy a doll.

I am working on a few. The major one is a set of Max wings from the Maximum Ride novels for the new SDG I just received. I am also working on a set of slopers (basic flat patterns that custom outfits are derived from.) for the Volks SD-13G and Volks SDGs.

I would use one fourth inch furniture grade plywood for the walls. This can be purchased at most any fine wood working store. In the US I use a company called Rockler. It comes in 2 foot by 4 foot and 2 foot by 8 foot pieces and is relatively very low cost. You might use a one half inch thick piece as a base for stability. You can use hot glue to assemble it or traditional glues. Hot glue allows quick assembly with out clamps or waiting for the glue to dry. I would also use the hot glue to make doll furniture. I will be trying that in the next week.

I've always got several projects going. I need to re-do my big 70cm guy's faceup but I have to wait for his proper wig to get here so I can coordinate everything. It's taken me months just to finish his mods, get his proper eyes, find the right wig... He's a project in himself.
I'm also searching for the perfect wig and fabric to make a Jigoku Shoujo cosplay for my msd girl, but I haven't had any real luck so far.

Out of the twenty or so dolls Im getting in the future, i plan on finishing my Ichinose kaoru/Endrance doll by getting the soon to arrive body gender swapped and modded to perfection then finishing up my JENOVA doll. The head should be here in five to twelve days and then its off to have her modded, body blushed to blue, speckled and given a face up before i get her the perfect wig, eyes, and make her full tube, organ, headcase with brain and wings. LOOOOONG road ahead on Jenny, but Kaoru will be easy to complete. Its his AIDA form that will be difficult...

Luuulz, things have changed considerably since my last post here so I guess I'll update.

My main guy Cloud's perpetually a WIP for me so-- I'm trying to get him a new body to replace his old dingy one, if I ever luck out on selling that old thing anyway. I'm still working on perfecting my Tsukasa-- though I sent him away to Poppy for a faceup. :] Something big for me, I've never done that with one of my dolls before orz.

For photos lighting is very important. I currently am using OTT lights from Office Depot. The small fold up ones. I have 3 of them and position them around the face or body part. I also use macro mode on the camera to allow close in focusing. It helps a great deal with my Sony and Canon cameras. A tripod helps. If you have Canons there are USB sutter releases that can be made giving a point and shoot a near pro ability.

I'm waiting for a type one CP Delf mature girl body :) I'm going to concentrate on the dolls I have this year and I've always been meaning to get my floating Lishe head a body. My friend and I are into the 1980s kids' cartoon called Moondreamers, so the first thing my Project Lishe is going to get when her body arrives is a Moondreamers cosplay :) I will be making an original Moondreamers character as well as a cosplay of Dream Gazer.

I'm still looking for a littlefee boy body for my Shiwoo Elf. I now have around 19 dolls; but I've still not dared to put faceup on any of them.... I have what I need to do it - it's just.... Well - now I need to wait for better weather; because I have to spray them with the msc outside... Excuses.. excuses..

And then I'm putting furniture in my victorian dollshouse 1:12, so that my Brownies and Pukis can move in. It seems I have more furniture than there's room for... :D

And I'm always looking for wigs and eyes... I think I'll never be totally satisfied.

Oh - and the naming. Ouch - lots of the dolls doesn't have names yet....
