Hi Nelle,
I think if they banned you, it was because they felt that you creating a second account was for escaping the problems from the transaction that is, if it's as you say, still unresolved. You might want to resolve that and have a talk with the mods over there. Maybe something good will come out of it.

Hi everyone!
My real name is Esmir Timmerman Im from the Netherlands and going to an Art school to study Illustration.
Im known on many forums as Saoera.
I have been 'collecting' BJD's from 9-10-2007 which is the arrival date of my first Doll an Elfdoll June (http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/Saoera/SaoeraRed.jpg) named... (surprise) Saoera.
More different pictures of her: Link (http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/Saoera/Saoera-Ganesha5.jpg), Link (http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/Saoera/SaoeraDark4.jpg) and Link (http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/Saoera/SaoeraNewEyes9.jpg)
My second doll is an Elfdoll K (http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/Saoera/Maniquell/ManiHeadphone13.jpg) named Maniquell.
More pictures of him: Link (http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/Saoera/Maniquell/ManiChain12.jpg), Link (http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/Saoera/Maniquell/Maniquell276.jpg) and Link (http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/Saoera/Maniquell/Maniquell166.jpg)
He soon will change from mold. Im planning to make a Souldoll Morse out of him.
My third, newest and last doll is a Souldoll Killian (http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/Saoera/Xilan/Xilan-Follow11.jpg) named Xilan.
More pictures of him: Link (http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/Saoera/Xilan/The-X-Marks-The-Spot.jpg), Link (http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/Saoera/Xilan/Xilan-Snow5.jpg), Link (http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/Saoera/Xilan/SunsetSmoke4.jpg) and Link (http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd220/Saoera/Xilan/GetOffMyBoard2.jpg)
My favorite aspect of BJD's are making clothes for them, styling them each time (slightly) different and taking pictures of what I created of them ;p
I always paint their face-up's by myself which is also something I like to do.

Hi--I slid on her over from another forum...don't know if I could mention which one (is that poor taste??? but it was not DoA). I am an artist, wife of an artist raising 3 very artsy kids (17, 14 and soon to be 13). Live in a poodunk town in western wa. not far from Microsoft/googleville. Feel kinda isolated here in the boonies so I am happy to see other like minded people like myself ;0) I have 3 Dt girls, 1 elfdoll, 1 souldoll, one puki (soon to be 2 but have not told Dh that I ordered my own b-day present LOL), 1 unoa hybrid and 1 bobobie. Abjd's entered my life only about 2 years ago and I have decided that they are the perfect doll for me. I am an art doll artist and find that my dollies are a good break inbetween different art projects. Happy to be here and am still finding my way around--though it may be awhile since I have to fight to get computer time between 3 teens and one husband!!!!

Yeah, funny how they'll ban or reprimand the sane people in a thread, yet the azzhats are allowed to continue their stupidity. :o This has happened to me a few times, but no banning, yet. I can't believe they banned you when you're such a helpful person to the other members!
Cymorill
07-06-2010, 07:19 AM
Hello! I'm Cymorill here and on DoA. I'm 30 female, and my name is actually Cymorill (my dad really likes the Elric books)! I manage a metaphysical store in California and I also make jewelry and do a few art commissions.
I've been in the hobby since Feb. 2008
My hobbies are (both in and out of BJDs) painting, building, DIY, mods, Steampunk, crystals, cats, cartoons.
My doll family so far:
Rehm - Crobidoll Gillian/LM hybrid
Rajin - KDF Buzzi
Kir - Leeke Romeo/SSDF
Merrown - SSDF Cane/ Crobi M-line
Po'ryu - PukiPuki Cupid2
Wenn - BBB tiny
nenedafox
07-11-2010, 04:23 AM
Hello Resinality! My real name is Janean but I go nenedafox everywhere, except that one time I used the name Sugar_Piper 'cause I was embarrassed to be seen on a rival entomology forum. Anyway. I'm 21 and hail from the California. I am currently finishing my AA in Undeclared.
I've know about BJDs since umm, I think 02-03 or so. My sister got one through a shopping service when I was younger. I didn't think they where very interesting though at first. They don't move, dace or read you email! Dad needs to help put it together? How fun could it be?
I have since learned of course, that my beloved sibling is simply weaker then a house mouse and dolls are really triptasticaly awesome, I now do all the restringing.
I have 7 dolls right now, Volks LE Hisui, SD13 Irvin, Soom Heliot, Glati, Beyla, Shonki, CP Shiwoo and I'm waiting for SSDF Regen and an ID Cori.
I got into dolls for reasons that escape me. I wanted a hobby and imaginary friends are fun, so, I kinda mashed 'em together. Dolls are like little holders for the figments of your imagination that fall outta your head.
Oh, and I also have a Lurking Problem, really, I do, on DOA I've been on since 2005 and I have a post count of 49, I was grandfathered in for so many "post count requirement" things over there it's stupid. I mean well, but I stink at hitting that reply button. But I'll do my best to participate here and I hope to meet new dolly people! and I think that was all the questions :)
- What's your occupation?
- How long have you been collectiing BJDs?
- What dolls do you own?
- What's your favorite aspect of the BJD hobby?
- Anything else you feel like telling us!
Well, hello all! I've joined this forum for quite a while now, but never got the part to actually post, so I guess its just right for me to start in this thread before diving in. I am known in DoA under the same username too, so you'll probably have seen me around if you are one of the forum members.
My friends outside of the forums call me Nats, so you can call me by the same nickname too. I was born in an overcrowded, tiny island which is known as Singapore, it can be quite boring here, but it is home.
I've got to know about BJDs through the internet (deviantART) back in 2006, the pictures there mesmerized me, I start to do some mini research about them and admired the sculpts the BJD companies offered. I didn't get my first BJD until June 2009, which was an Iplehouse EID Akando, the only mold out there then that made my heart skipped a bit (he was love at first sight).
I swore to myself only to bring one home, but as you can see from my sig and profile, my crew is expanding as the year progresses, though it was a decision that I never really regretted :) they are one of art's wonderful creations, I must say!

Hello!
I'm new here, just trying to expand my dolly info horizons. I have 2 Volks, 3 Bobobie, 1 Dollzone and a MNF Shiwoo. :) I live in Florida, and my favorite thing about the hobby is, well, the dolls! I love making clothes and accessories for them, but mostly I just like having them around.

I'm afraid I'd forgotten about this site, until I came across it again, tried to register and found I was already a member.
Part of my RL name is jin, and it's what I use to refer to myself on forums. I dislike capitalising it.
Lethe (crobi yeonho / loongsoul hybrid), Farelann (infiniti justin / AOD hybrid), and Pan (soul sweet Elin / LTF hybrid) share similarities in that their names are cheesy, they all are residents of my room and they happen to all be hybrids. Lethe was the first to come, mid-last year-ish. I've known about BJDs for quite a while, but it's only since last year that I've really started looking deeper into the hobby. I love wigs - easiest way to change a look. Too bad I have a student's budget.
I'm a Korean living in Australia learning Japanese, hoping to move temporarily to Germany for my postgrad (my aunt loved it so much she stayed there - also there is no haagen dazs in Australia).
I don't really have much else to say if I don't want to spew my life story, so I suppose that's it.
I'm with the same username on most forums, including DOA.

Hello everyone,
I've just discovered this site and decided that I needed to register.
My name is Debi and I live in South Wales in the UK.
I've had a love of BJD's for a few years and got my first (a christmas present) in 2006 - a Volks Shiro Tachibana. Next came Shiro's sister Jun in 2007.
I didn't collect any more bjd's until last year when I managed to get hold of two 'Narae's' one an old style, one a new style.
Finally last week I bought a Luts Delf Miyu.
I'm trying to make clothes and love to redress my collection. I'm also learning to take photo's.
I'm looking forward to reading the forum and trying to contribute to it. :yey

What's your real name?
(Becque; pronounced "Becky")
- What's your occupation?
(Psychology and Creative Writing Major and Waitress)
- How long have you been collecting BJDs?
(I just got into the BJD world, but I have been around dolls since birth and make my own since age 4.)
- What dolls do you own?
(Currently I only own two homemade dolls and no BJDs. I'm saving for three BJDs and purchasing my first one when school starts back. and, yes, I'm planning to show those too on my blog!!)
- What's your favorite aspect of the BJD hobby?
(The customization and personalization. There's so much you can do with BJDs and I'm excited to own one and make it my own creation after the two protagonists in my story, which I plan to make into a novel one day.)
- Anything else you feel like telling us!
(I'm really good at sewing and jewelry making, so maybe in the future, I would like to open my talents to the Resinality and DoA members!!! Also, I have been a strict vegetarian/vegan since age 3. ^^)
Jesslynne
07-19-2010, 07:46 PM
Hi there!! I'm Jesslynne, though my real name is Jennifer I do respond to both in real life. I just found out about this site this year's Ai-kon and I'm always looking for places to learn and hang out with fellow ABJD enthusiasts.. I'm 21, and I work in a book store.
I've only just gotten into this hobby.. Having seen them the odd time over the passed few years but never thinking much of the passing glance I've seen of them. Though later as a friend got her first and sent me photos and links of others she wanted.. I started getting interested.. and thought of making my roleplay characters into dolls.
I now have two dolls, and a third on the way.. after three months of searching for what I wanted as my first. I'd ordered my first, an Impldoll Bosco, in the beginning of March of this year, and my second impulse buy of an AOD Ni Ni at the end of the month... I got Ni Ni beginning of May, and Bosco at the end of May. (Yay for time delays)
The one I have on order now is my vampire Character Jat, he is to be a Doll Family Nuada, white skinned and to be modded with fangs and have a blue toned face-up and body blushing (with maybe some light skin color tone to look slightly more human).
I really love the flexibility of the dolls, the posing and the fact that they can look like anything you want them to. They're getting me interested in art, and photography and especially sewing so I don't have to buy them clothing all the time just to have them dressed. (Though Lesley doesn't mind wandering around nude as to his true exhibitionist spirit).
I'm not sure what else to add on about myself other than I'm rather shy in real life, online, not so much - though I do dislike posting about things I'm not too certain about because I hate coming off as an idiot. Dolls actually help me out of my shyness because carrying one around actually gets me feeling more confident and less meek.

Hello all :)
I've been a member for a bit, but have just been lurking around. Decided to introduce myself finally ^^;
My real name is Mika, but I go by exuver on DoA, DoD and TDAF. I've been interested in bjds, ever since first seeing them at Anime North 5 years ago, and have just started collecting recently.
I currently don't have any dolls at home, but I have 3 and a possible fourth on the way. Yes, I'm a bit overzealous, I know.
I think my favourite thing about the bjd hobby is the customization that you can do on your doll(s). :)

Hey, I'm Rue, just began my journey into the world of ABJDs, I've got my first resin baby boy on the way which I'm really looking forward to. :) He's the DZ MSD Hid, who I've yet to discover a new name for, but I suppose that will happen when he gets here. :)
I don't have a job right now, which bugs me to no end. xD I have to say my fave part of owning dolls [I have a Taeyang right now, which works for me for the moment ^^] is the photography side of it. :) I'll have a field day when my real BJD arrives. ^^

Hi guys! I just joined and thought I'd get the introduction business started right away. Some might already know me from DoA, although I haven't been a member there for more than few months yet.
I've collected dolls since 2006 but got into ABJDs late this Spring. It was love at first sight when I saw Elfdoll Yumi and after getting her a Zaoll Muse hybrid with Supia body has found a home here too. I also had two Sybarites as a sort of middle phase between fashion dolls and BJDs.
I love photographing my dolls and making dioramas and clothes for them. I've repainted vinyl dolls for years now, but just made my first face up on my Zaoll Muse. My dream is to get my own doll line and I'm starting a small company with a friend to make doll fashions in the near future.

*sneaks on into the intro thread* Well.. I don't know if I introduced myself here 6 months ago or whatever, buuuuut I disappeared form the BJD scene cuz I was going through some hard times.
I'm back now. I don't have any on topic BJD's at the moment. :) I've got a little volks 21cm though that's adorable and has stolen the OKC group's hearts. (posted about her already.)
The name's Crys, or mutt, call me pretty much whatever and I'll probably answer :)
My first conquest in the name of ABJD is a MNF Woosoo. I'll be starting the whole process of saving up once my move is over next week. :)
I have a wishlist that just keeps growing too, I tell you.... >.>;
Anywho I have a DoA (mawmutt) and a whole lot of others, you can find me as mawmutt pretty much all over. :)
um.. I'm getting sucked in big time now though. I've started making little hats and stuff like this little guy (http://pics.livejournal.com/grey_jackal/pic/0003xt0r) and I'm learning other styles at the moment too.
Anywho.. I've rambled enough. HI Resinality XD

I'm Kat, and I've been a -member- of the board for awhile, but I took a break from the hobby shortly after joining. ^^; But I'm back into it now, like I never left at all, right down to having a new dolly on the way. I first saw BJDs around 2006 or so and just fell madly in love- it was actually Hitasura's dolls that got me into the hobby- I was reading her comic, and then I saw her dolls, and that was it.
I only own two (well, one and a half, one's body is up for sale) dolls at the moment, with a third on the way. The half is a Dollmore Momo head, waiting to go on a new Dollzone girl body- the resin match on her old body is actually what drove me to shove her in a box and ignore her for a year. My other dolly is a Bobobie March, and I have to say, those little tiny dolls are -addictive-, I really want another. The ease of finding clothes for her is amazing. And now I have a 70cm boy coming- I've only had girls before, and only ever MSD size or smaller, so this is a big change!
I sell books for a living, and I looove to read, and knit, and I like to pretend I can sew. I own a sewing machine. I had to scrape dust off of it to make a truly terrible shirt for my boy so he won't be naked, but I own one!

Heyla and well met!
I got my first BJD about a month ago at the San Diego Comic-Con from a stall owned by Goodreau Dolls. The doll I happily bought is a vinyl MSD called "Mirror," who I named Kyouko, which is Japanese for the word mirror (according to Wikipedia). The name seemed appropriate, as I couldn't help but notice a strong resemblence to me in the doll.
I'm still learning a lot about the hobby, and I have a lot of questions about BJDs, in general, and about my doll, specifically. In fact, because I wanted to avoid inadvetently breaking the rules on DoA by asking for help specifically related to my doll, I had PMed a virtue, and she recommended this forum, as there is a place for me to ask all of my questions concerning my doll, specifically, in an OT discussion thread. I have to say that I'm quite glad to have an outlet to talk about Kyouko, as I've been itching to do so ever since I got her! (I'm beginning to bore my husband and friends about the topic!)
I hope to learn a lot about BJD from the community here!
Pleased to meet you,
TheKeeper

Hello from Ohio, just joined the forum yesterday.
- What's your real name? Carolyn but everyone calls me Ms. Kitty Blue, Kitty Blue is my DOA handle
- What's your occupation? Fashion/Costume Designer
- How long have you been collectiing BJDs? I have been eye balling them for several years, just bought my first one this year.
- What dolls do you own? My first doll I purchased from ebay end of May was a 60cm Obitsu with haruka head funny enough her name is Keiyoko taken from the japenese word mirror, not because she looks like me but just because I wanted to make a mini me and dress her the way I dress. Then a month later I ordered from Resinsoul my girl Kitiblu has the new Rong body and Mei head in skyblue, my boy Tacmota is the Mai mold in light tan

Hi there - my name is Tracy (tracymcclain on DoA). I've been collecting bjds for about a year now. My teenage daughter got me interested in them. I love to sew and have started to attempt to make clothes for my dolls. I'm a stay at home mom and I have 2 Cherishdolls, 2 Brownies, a Bobobie Ariel (love those ears!) that has a Resinsoul body (much more elegant) and I've got a Delf Soo on layaway. I'm not too talkative and not great a photography but I love seeing what other people do. :)

Hello, I'm Courtney, nice to be here.
I'm a fashion designer (for people for now). I've been interested in these dolls for about six years and it's only been a few months that I've grown serious about getting one. I don't own any at the moment but I shall get one soon! I love the fashion and just how beautiful the dolls themselves are. I like how people can be so creative with their little ones. I hope I'll be able to extend my fashions to dolls and sell at some of my local conventions so keep an eye out.:kisses:dance

10-09-2010, 07:09 AM
Hii, I'm Keilee. Just joined.. ^_^
I've been interested in BJD for a few years now, I saw pictures of them posted somewhere and learned a bit about them and knew I wanted one someday, but it was only very recently that I really decided to figure out what I had to do to own one. I just ordered a Dollfie Plus and am so excited! I'm going to start saving up for a Kid-Delf though.
I'm also really into Lolita, anime, Bento - other Japanese things basically. I like crafts so I'm hoping to learn how to make clothes and such for my doll. I'm really just a kid at heart - I don't want to grow up - so it figured that I love these dolls too.
Online I like to play games and chat-things with avatars. Like IMVU, Second Life, etc. Although I don't go on them very much anymore since I get sooo busy. I also play a horse sim game that has me addicted lately. Off the computer, I like playing outside, exploring, chasing butterflies, looking for reptiles and amphibians. I have a pet snake and he's pretty awesome. Animal rescue is a big deal to me so I try to promote it as much as I can! I also like to cook and bake and other girly things.
Oh, and I'm keileee (yeh, three e's cause keilee was taken) on Livejournal - just got an account the other day. Feel free to add me. ^_^ (Just please drop a note that you found me from here.)

Wiske
10-26-2010, 08:34 AM
Hi all,
My name is Wiske (my real name and my username! ;)) and I'm 21, from The Netherlands. I'm in my last year of college and the year is filled with internships and a graduation project. My major is called Communication & Multimedia Design but it's not my true interest anymore. I used to be a computernerd but now my "real" life is starting to play a greater role in my life :P... I'm a storyteller and followed a 3-month fulltime storytelling course last year, in England. I occasionally tell stories to an audience and that's how I support my BJD-hobby.
Right now I have a Pukifee Bonnie living with me. Her name is Dolores. I also have a Realpuki Roro on the way. I have a Multihead Cupid which is still blank and bodyless, but next up on my list is a body, face-up and wigs/eyes for her! :)
In the future I'd love to own some bigger dolls, like a Yo-SD sized doll or a MSD. I'd love to have a Minifee. As for Yo-SD sized dolls, I'm looking forward till the day that Iplehouse releases some smaller dolls! :) I'll be first in line to buy one. My greatest wish is a Volks Yo-SD 4-sisters sculpt doll, but I'm afraid that will remain to be a wish for a while ^^;;... !
Well, that's all I can think of for now! ;)

I hope to have more soon.
Rajendora
10-29-2010, 06:47 AM
Rajendora, or Raj for short.
I just joined after looking around for a Nice active community for BJDs. I live in California many miles away from all the interesting places.
I got my first BJD, a Lati Red basic, through a friend who had had him for a while. She felt she wasn't bonding with him and wanted him to go to a good home. I've had him for almost two months now. He came blank and quickly became who he 'is' in about a week, I really had no preconceived ideas about who he was, he was just a doll at the time I unboxed him. Now he is MINE. Or is it the other way round?
I'm the sort who if they get a bug to try something, grabs the tools and goes for it, so a doll of my own large enough to start making more complicated things for is really a good outlet for me. The 1/6 dolls are a good challenge but the 1/3 allow for more detail! I'm looking forward to seeing what other people make and do with their dolls. I don't sell anything or take commissions, it's just my hobby and there to amuse me, and sometimes I just don't have as much time for it as I would like. I'm good for sewing questions and problem solving.
And that's about it for me. Nice to meet you all.

Hi- I have been a member for a while, but I don't know if I ever introduced or even posted on this forum! I had some computer problems last year, so maybe I joined around that time. I cant remember even joining to be honest. I use this same name on DOA, so I tried creating an account today and found that I already had one.
I have always loved dolls, and I have been collecting bjds for a few years now. I have owned a lot of them, but I ended up selling most of them due to some financial issues. I currently have a DZ Yuu, a tan BBB Weylin, a dark ttan RS Bei, and a white skinned AE MO. I need a new SD girl in the worst waay though LOL. I like other dolls as well, but my bjds get most of my attention. I enjpy sewing for them and doing faceups.
I am a freelance artist and a mom, and I live in NC.

Hi everybody! I'm a new BJD collector and my real name is Youa (pronounced Yu-wa). I've been eyeing BJDs for years off and on, so I finally decided to dish out the monies this year & bought some. I currently own 4. You can see my darlings here: http://www.abjds.com/forum/album.php?albumid=910
I love lots of things about BJDs, especially how they can display some much of their owner's creativeness & image.
I hope to get to know a lot of you & make new doll friends. Most of my current friends don't understand this hobby or care, it makes me sad. :cry

Hi, I'm Mara, and I stumbled across this forum in a search for something else bjd, lol... I'm registered on DoA already, but you can never have to much bjd, right?
I'm relatively new the the hobby, I've only had my boy for about a month now, a DragonDoll Di named Daiyu... he's still incomplete, really, b/c he still has factory faceup (which he came with, didn't have choice for blank, so he's getting a new one whenever I can see my friend who's better at painting then me) and I want type 2 hands for him, but have been putting it off since I have to order them directly from DD (maybe I should spring for jointed hands instead...?). Atleast he finally has clothes... but look forward to some fancy-shmancy photos of him when he's complete! I'm slowly immersing myself further and further into this hobby!
...b/c i totally needed another expensive hobby besides horses >_<

11-30-2010, 06:14 PM
Hi, I'm Xorlia, and I'm brand new to the hobby! I've known about BJDs for quite awhile but never really had any interest in them at first. However, about two years back a friend ended up buying a few and thats when I became so intrigued! After looking at a few sites I was feeling the pull, but realizing I had no money then, I kind of just gave up.
Now that I work for Jo-Ann Fabrics (my first real job) I rediscovered the dolls and found so many that have piqued my interest. They're all so beautiful! I do research on them virtually every day, checking around for new dolls and whatnot. I've probably visited almost every existing manufacturer's website, lol.
My favorite companies are Soom and Iplehouse, and my heart is currently set on a Super Gem Lazule. My heart broke when I heard he was being discontinued, so I think he's going to go on layaway before he's completely gone. Originally, I wanted Rex, but he had been long gone by the point I had found out about him.
I hope to get to know you all better. :)

Hey, after researching and drooling after BJDs for the longest time, I'm finally actually into the hobby :)
I have so many that I want, and not the most money, so for now I'm just sticking with my two Volks.
This summer, I'd like to get another Volks while I'm in Japan. Either a SD10 Megu, or another Dollfie Dream.
The doll that made me fall in love with the hobby was Dollzone 1/3 Morphoa. I didn't buy her though... I researched a lot, and found that maybe most clothes from other companies wouldn't fit her well, and I don't know how to sew. I wanted a doll I could find a ton of clothes for, and so I went with a Volks SD13, and a Volks Dollfie Dream.
I'm 19, married, a freshman in college, I have 2 daughters (1.5yrs, and 5 months). My major is Japanese (surprise, surprise, right? ;) ).
My favorite dolls to look at have pink hair :)

Hi everyone!
My name is James and I work in corporate America. I've only been collecting BJDs for about 3 years now and have three dolls. I've always been interested in dolls, which was a inconvenient as a boy. I own a Mir and a Hazy, as well as an Elfdoll bust that I keep one of the alternate, Reminisce heads on. I also have a bobobie boy body that was my very first purchase, and two heads that I have modified but am too fond of to throw away.
I like BJD for a couple of reasons. No one else in my circle of friends collects them and so they are unique in my life. I also think that they are great future family heirlooms. If they are kept correctly BJD could appreciate in value over the next 100 years. Maybe my BJD will be on the Antiques Roadshow in 2111...
For my next purchase I hope to find an Elfdoll Soah, or a June.
I am also interested in Iplehouse, 70 cm boys.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to acquire ownership of a doll. I first learned about them online and didn't give much of a second thought about them, save for thinking they were beautiful little dolls. I rediscovered them when my friend bought a FL MiniFee and we made clothes for it together, =D. I fell in love with the great personality and customizability these dolls had.
Currently I have my sights set on a Doll Family 1/3 Lingfeng. And an Iplehouse E.I.D, Carina.

Hi all- my name is Alice. I live in Edinburgh, Scotland, where I have a very boring day job.
I'm very new to BJDs- I've been looking online at various dolls for a couple of months, but I decided to make it a New Year's resolution to learn all I can with a view to making a purchase in the not too distant future! I can tell this is a site where I could easily spend a lot of time! So far I am tempted by Rosy, a Luna Chouchou and some of the DIMS, Latis and Fairyland dolls.
Thanks in advance for patience with any daft questions on my part!

My name is Erin and I'm pretty new to the world of abjds... I got interested in them last September and jumped in head first :) I have three dolls now and have another that I'm waiting for.
I enjoy doing customization (even though I'm still learning a lot) and making clothing. I hope to see you all around here on the forums!
edited to add, yes... I've been lurking but I've decided to finally introduce myself :)

Ohkay, lets do this:
What's your real name?
I'm just fine with Zi, people usually call me that :D Thought my real name is Eszter, it's hungarian (I believe it's spelled "Esther" in other countries), like me :oops
What's your occupation?
Goood question, right now I'm an art college student, before that I was a jewellery designer and among anything I'm an illustrator / freelace artist with no work. :cry But right now school is the most important :sweat
How long have you been collectiing BJDs?
My first arriwal was in 2007, so now I guess 4 years, but I've been lurking around them for a year before my first doll. :whome
What dolls do you own?
Anja, my first is a Dollzone old shoyu, still with the old body with simple joints, then there was a mass arriwal with Azure, my MNF shushu (shushu was my second love, the first is an unoa lusis) and with her came Hella, a MNF Juri '08 and Lynn who is a sleeping shushu. Currently those 3 share 1 body ^^; And my latest and first boy, Nikolai, a SoulDoll Vito Lester. I'm planing a mas collection with souldoll, most of the male crew and at least 2 or 3 girls. Cant help but fall for them. And recently I found the first SD boy that I love and adore and will someday complete. He's totally in different dimensions then my msd's, while the little ones are character based for a story, Aiji [IOS M] is kind of a self interpretation.
What's your favorite aspect of the BJD hobby?
Aside from they being pretty, I found it that they help me concentrate on tasks. I have a big issue with studying, and concentrating in general, but when I'm working on a faceup I have the feeling of accomplishment, allso I know that if I dont work hard, I will never have my dream crew and dream dolls, so they push me to get out of bed in the morning.
Allso since I have them I became better in drawing, sewing and painting. And in a way helped me socialize too. So I guess my fav aspect is the help they given me :) And being pretty :p
Anything else you feel like telling us!
Ettoooo....I'm a huge lurker, I mean I post my own photos and such but do not comment unless something comes to my mind other than "cuuute, beautifull" etc. So please bare with me with that ^^; Allso english is a second language to me, so if I make any mistakes, ja know, just know that it's cause of that.
Well I hope I'll be having fun here too, nice meeting everyone :yey

Hi everyone! My name is Castle (yes, thats my first name:) )
Im 21, and a full time college student--bio major.
I have only been collecting bjd's for about three years, but I have always loved dollys with joints. I started out interested in the antique ones, but I love them all now.
Up until now I have only owned a dollfie plus, and a nano Haruka, but I recently took the plunge and ordered a littlefee--a mold that Ive loved for years and I cant wait to get her.
I think the mechanics of these dolls are fascinating, its a great a mixture of art and technology trying to find how to make them as true to form and function to a person as possible, and have them be idealistically beautiful.
I do some artistic things, drawing and sewing and making little dioramas, so a dolly fits right in with those hobbies. I'm hoping it will even help improve them.
I saw a couple people here who says they make bjd's. Thats so awesome!
Its been my dream job to design and make dolls since I was a kid, but I dont have any sculpting talent :P
Im looking forward to learning more about the dolls here, and meeting others who are interested in them:heart

- What's your real name?
Liz.
- What's your occupation?
My 'day' job is 3rd Shift In-Stock at Wal-Mart, the one I love: I ink comics.
- How long have you been collectiing BJDs?
Seven or eight years. I first fell in love with them in my senior year of high school, but waited til College to get one, which I blundered through the Japanese Volks site for-- then, they didn't have the USA site!

Volks MSD Myu(modified; custom face-up, sanding), and I just ordered an Illusion Spirit Meilin, which will be going through some HEAVY modification. I also have an obitsu SOMEWHERE.
- What's your favorite aspect of the BJD hobby?
I love customization. I adore the concept of turning this blank canvas into something beautiful. As an artist, it's the same concept as drawing for me: Pulling the fantasy out of my head and putting it on paper.

I'd love to make some friends and get some advice on furthering my skill!

My real name is Alison.
I have been an illustrator from when I left school, and a part-time vet nurse. I moved to Canada from Australia last year, and I now work in a secondhand bookshop.
I've been fascinated with BJDs for a year or two, and am expecting a Pipos "Demon" in the post in the next month- my first doll ever!!
What I like about the hobby:
Each BJD is not only a work of art which can be touched and played with, but is a "satellite soul" of the person who owns and loves it... or so it seems to me. I delight in looking at everyone's work.
Thoughts on dolls:
I hated dolls when I was a kid, preferring to play only with toy animals. I'd actually leave polite notes for Santa, begging him not to give me dolls.
In my teens, I developed an interest in traditional Japanese dolls and puppets- they were so elegant and dignified. I collected a tidy number of them, and then my interest waned.
When I first discovered BJDs, I couldn't help but be transfixed, but still didn't find the hobby personally appealing until I discovered "anthro" BJDs: animals, beautiful works of art, and dolls all at once- and dolls you have to be an adult to appreciate properly.
Nice to meet you, folks!

- What dolls do you own?
Two.S Doll Dorean. I renamed her Mayi. She's my first doll, bought her as a Christmas present for myself. And this July, I will be getting my second doll Yay!! (Mayi doll) from the same company.
- What's your favorite aspect of the BJD hobby?
I like the idea that they can be customized to anything with just little bit of imagination and creativity the doll will turn to be something more.
- Anything else you feel like telling us!

My name is Flo. I'm eighteen. Wow, I know. I discovered BJDs because of Shojo Beat (no longer in print) in late 2005 or 2006. At least I think that's how...I think they mentioned Volks. For like two years Volks and Azone were the only companies I knew about. I didn't actually order my first doll till last month, but that's because my family was not going to let a fourteen year old get a $500 doll. Also, I was waiting till I searched long enough to find the most awesome doll. I ordered a Code no. 02 on a D.O.I. body from D.o.D.
So far my favorite aspects are the wonderful photography, but I plan on sewing a lot of my clothing. I don't have my doll yet, but man I love thee dolls.:hyper

- What's your occupation? I'm diagnosed with AvPD so I don't work.
- How long have you been collectiing BJDs? I've known about these babies for a few years now but never got around to having one because i'm not able to work to get the money. I've recently got a source of income though.
- What dolls do you own? None at home but I just bought a Blue Blood Doll - Silver
- What's your favorite aspect of the BJD hobby? I like how there is a growing number of people in Australia with BJDs. I knew that they were huge over in Japan and America but I really had no idea there were so many Aussie BJD owners. All types of dolls help me with my disorder and I am hoping that my BJD will make me a little bit more social. :yey

Hi all!My BJD hobby started with the large dolls like Volks SD-SD17. I just can't get enough of those beautifull dolls! I think the ones who own those cuties are very happy people.
I really like browsing galleries with the pictures of various dolls. My current obsession is LittleFee. I adore those dolls, they are so sweet!
I do not own BJD myself, but hope that I can get my first dollie to my birthday in May.

I have a terrible memory! I spend most of my time at DoA but thought I'd give this place more of a chance to see how it compares. I have the same name and user icon at DoA.

Hello hello! I'm Bekah, called Umber or Bard Alsta on many of the sites I frequent. I'm 18, happily taken, and have been in the hobby for a grand total of 7 months. I hail from California, but after having lived in Texas from age 8 until recently, I consider mysel to be a southerner in all of my mannerisms and vernacular. Most people still have trouble placing where i'm from though as I have a bad habit of mimicking a person's speech patterns when I talk to them.
I have 3 boys on the way, two Resinsoul and one Abio Angel and I am currently going to school for Animation. I really enjoy having such customizable resin-y pieces of art. Whenever I look at them I can't help but smile, y'know?
As osaka was forced to say, "Darned please to meet cha!"

Hi there!
My name is Natalia, but most people call me Talia. Well lemme tell you a little about myself. I am a bit of an artist, into horror and such (I am one of the coordinators of the local Zombie walk) and I love BJDS!!! I'm a Newbie here. I mean, I have always been a fan of BJDs, ever since I saw the movie The Doll Master, but I just recently purchased my first dolls (one of witch I should be getting in the next couple days. So excited!! Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!) so I am very new to owning one
Anyways I love the possibilities each dolls has, I know I plan on doing several mods and have an idea to do a Pyramid head cosplay for the doll I am reviving soon. So if anyone has any tips or ideas I should try let me know XD I am always open to suggestions!
Hey my name is Paulina :lol
I'm pretty much brand spanking new to dolls. I've looked at them for years but still don't have one, although currently I'm en route to getting the DOT Shall doll (gosh I'm in love).
I'm currently a student of Criminal Justice and Chemistry, heading into firearms examination. Is that strange? I have no idea. Where I live, it's pretty much farms and cows. I have never met anyone (in person) who is also a doll fan so my exposure is really limited. :(
I'm so excited to find an online community to help me learn more about dolls!

Hello All,
My name is Billie Jo. I am a web designer by day and a maker of dolly clothes by night and weekend. I have always loved dolls. Came by that honestly. My grandma makes and repairs dolls. She owns Wilders Doll Center in my home state of Michigan. She is also responsible for my learning to sew.
I was introduced to resing bjd by a co-worker who is a collector of many things and often brings her girls to work with her. She has volks and fairyland yo size dolls as well as MSD and SD. They are so fascinating.
I recently acquired a Doll in Mind vinyl bjd to test the waters and see how I like having my own. I have made several outfits for her! :lol And must admit I am now hooked. I am currently waiting for my Fairyland Little Fee Leah to arrive. I find it very difficult to be patient waiting for her arrival.
I have opened an etsy shop to sell some of the clothes that I have made for yo size dolls as well as blythe and pullip. Next on my wish list is SoulDoll Soul Kid Ahee. She is so adorable and looks like my youngest daughter.
I had a DOA account previously but I guess I neglected it for to long because I can no longer access it :( Now that I have the time to visit and enjoy the forums they have changed to invite only. *sigh*
Since I am a noob, I was wondering if someone could tell me what LJ stands for? Oh, I am also a member on tinybjd
Nice to meet you all. BTW, also working on my own doll website to create a place for various doll information.

Hello I'm new to the forum. I'm RyokoDWolfwood in most communities including DOA.
I've been collectiing BJDs since 2008 and have gone through many different dolls during this time; but now I'm pretty comfortable with my current doll family and know what I want, like and what I will purchase in the future. Here's my current doll family (I love them all and I would never sell any of them)
Edmond Dantès- Dream of Doll Limited Elf Kirill
Mikage Sagara- Volks SDGrB Souji Okita
Yukito Ishikawa- Volks School A on a SD13 long-leg body
Tohya Masamune- Dollzone Tan Yuu
Hajime Fudo- Volks White Rabbit Sweet Dream
My favorite aspect of the BJD hobby is the fact that I can share it with my best friends (they're into it as well) It's a way to relax after hard day at work or stress from school. It's sort of my therapy LOL I love the fact that you can customize them to be any character one can possible imagine or have any "personality" one desires.

My name is Kira, but people call me Kira-cat...It seems to be my nickname from all my friends, with no clear reasoning to back it up...
I have been into BJDs for some years now but have always regarded them as something "unattainable" (the price of them made my eyes bulge). All of my friends think it's ridiculous to spend that amount on a doll... and to be honest, I don't blame them. There is just SOMETHING about them that makes them so much more than a doll...In fact I had hated dolls up until I discovered BJDs...isn't that crazy? Anyway, I am determined to get my hand on an Angell Studio Gabriel, and until she arrives at my doorstep, I'm not spending a penny on anything but her! ^_^

I just joined Resinality, as I'm just getting into collecting BJDs, so I thought it might be a good idea to see what others are doing.
- What's your real name?
Jeff
- What's your occupation?
I work in IT, providing admin support for a tool used for tracking IT incidents/changes, and do some Crystal report development.
- How long have you been collectiing BJDs?
I actually am just starting...
- What dolls do you own?
None currently...although I just ordered my first doll - Dollzone's Hong. I was totally taken by him. I guess I just really liked the androgynous look. I actually ordered the full-set (because I thought the clothes were really, really cool), and am having the face-up done (I'll experiment with doing face-ups probably on another doll head later).
- What's your favorite aspect of the BJD hobby?
I like the fact that these dolls are customisable. It seems like a great outlet for my creativity. I enjoy making/crafting things generally. I particularly am interested in things on a small scale (my primary hobby is bonsai).
I also like the anime influence on these dolls, and the Asian aesthetic really appeals to me.
- Anything else you feel like telling us!
I think I'd seen these dolls in photos online over several years, but never knew what they were. Then last year, when I was on vacation in Japan, I saw them on the 'doll floor' of a shop in Tokyo...that was when I decided I needed to look into it further when I got home. I've actually always been interested in dolls, particularly traditional Japanese dolls, of which I own a few.
I realise that some people find it strange that a 42-year-old male is into dolls, but that's just the way it is. I do what I like and don't think much of it. I know that there are other guys into collecting BJDs so I guess I'm not alone!

My name is Milla, and my nicname in internet is omilo.
I live in Ahvenanmaa //Åland// and yeah :) I saw my first bjd when I was 15 years old, and I saw it on internet, I was totally in love, and after these memories, I'm back in business, I'm totally in love with Luts Chiwoo S, and I think that I'll buy a AoD girl type 2 body..

Hi everyone~! I'm actually a returning member, but it's been a while since I was here, so I believe a reintroduction is in order.
My name is Jaime, and I go by ChibiJaime or CJ. The nickname's about fifteen years old, so I figure, why change what works? XD
I live in southwestern Ohio, somewhere in between Cincinnati and Dayton, quite literally smack in the middle of the CinDay Corridor.
I saw my first doll about six years ago, after a friend bought one. I wasn't really interested until she showed me the Souldoll Clara, and she sold me forever. Incidentally, that Clara (now a discontinued mold) became my first doll, and presently still my only doll... she came into my life about five years ago and became my darling Sakiyo, and I have never been more certain that I made the right choice. I have a DM Adam on layaway, though, and will be welcoming him home in the next few months.
I'm not super-involved like I'd like to be, but that's for a lack of time. I think my favorite thing about the hobby is seeing all the various creative ways people personalize their dolls and give them life.
Pleased to (re)meet you!

- What's your real name? Hello, everyone! My name is Shea and I am from America.
- What's your occupation? I am a student. Random tidbit: I am learning French in school!
- How long have you been collectiing BJDs? Umm.....Never?
- What dolls do you own? None :cry :tantrum BUT! I am eyeing an unoa lusis (if I ever figure out how to actually buy one), a Minifee (Shushu) and a Leekeworld Mabel.
- What's your favorite aspect of the BJD hobby? Well, I don't actually own a doll, but I just like how a manufacturer can sell five people the same blank doll, and then those five people can go out and give the doll a face up, add eyes, a wig, and clothes. And then when you look at those five dolls again, all prettied up, they look totally different!
- Anything else you feel like telling us! I don't own any dolls right now, but I REALLY really want to being collecting. If anyone has any tips for a newbie, or good reference websites then please share them with me!

Anthony

- How long have you been collecting BJDs/What dolls do you own??
I haven't got a single doll although I like to call them companions rather than dolls. I found them quite by accident while doing an Internet search for something. After staying on my first companion website I began looking for more and more websites, the more I looked, the more these companions were beginning to seduce me into their world.
As I say I don't have a companion, but I do have 1,450 images of them on my disc drive.
- Anything else you feel like telling us!
I live in the UK, my hobbies are creative writing, astronomy and too many more to mention.
Remember, a companion is not just for Christmas, he or she is for life. Love your companion and he or she will love you back.

Hullo! I just got my account validated today~ So here I am to introduce myself. :3
Please call me Hyula, and pleased to meetcha!
I'm currently working produce in a grocery store, and I can stack fruit like no one's business. Seriously, it's like a freakin art form. XD
Currently, I don't own any BJDs yet. I'm still saving up for my first. This is probably a good thing, since I'm still not entirely sure one which sculpt I want to settle on. It's nice to be taking my time on deciding these things. (There's just so many options @___@ Recommendations, anyone?)
As for the hobby itself, I've already made a few hats for one of my friend's dolls. The main reason I'd like one for myself is so that I can have a model for the tiny clothing I'd like to sew. :3 I'd also like to up my skills with faceups, and see where that takes me.
Other current hobbies include learning sign language alphabets from other countries, amigurumi, painting, and collecting old junk from the 20's and 50's.
Hopefully that gives you a fair idea of the type of person I am. :3 Please feel free to chat me up! I'm here to meet folks and discuss doll stuff!

Hello! I'm called Monmon in real life so you can call me that or call me by my username. Which ever you like. ^^ Currently I'm a college student studying Computer Science.
I don't own an abjd yet but I'm currently saving to buy one. Hopefully soon. I have been a huge fan of ABJDs since 2007. Though with a tight allowance and such, I haven't save enough for one yet. *Especially since I cosplay, so most of the time the money goes to the fabric and props* >.>

Hello, my real name is Toni and I am currently a student. I am quite newto the world of Bjds so I haven't had the opportunity to buy a Bjd yet (they are so expensive! O_o). I think that allof these dolls are amazing and want to one day welcome my own baby into my home.

What's your real name? Tessalina is... Tessalina. ^_^
What's your occupation? Academic Advisor at an American university here in Germany
How long have you been collectiing BJDs? N/A. I don't own any yet. I have been dreaming about owning one for years though. I knew I wanted one but it wasn't until a few months ago that I really started researching. At first the price turned me off but I just kept going back to check out BJD websites. And I'm one of those people that if I know I want something and it is worth it... I'm more than willing to dish out the casshhhh.
What dolls do you own? They are in processing! :yey Fairyland Feeple Chloe (natural w/out face up) and PukiPuki Cupid (also natural w/out face up). After that I will research some male dolls to be my Chloe's partner. At first I was going to go get just "the ONE" doll... then I fell in love with PukiPukis... and now I have to have a male. Darn it BJD bug!!! haha
What's your favorite aspect of the BJD hobby? All the face up and costume possibilities. I am a historical costumer and I basically wanted a BJD so that I could have a mini-me with me at costume events... or just to have to make costumes for. Making mini costumes for those small dress forms just isn't as fun as being able to pose a BJD in costumes. I also love doing make-up so I'm looking forward to testing out my blending skills on my new dollies.
Anything else you feel like telling us! I'm always looking for fellow historical costumers in Germany and now that I'm into BJDs... getting together for photo shoots or BJD meet-ups. Please message me if you want to get something going!
Be well!

Hello, I am new to the forum and very excited to be here.
My name is Dawn and I am in the 40+ crowd. I purchased my first doll, a Volks Dolfie off of eBay, used but in good shape. Sadly she is still very naked and I hadn't come up with how to dress her just yet. She is one of the 27cm sized dolls, a bit small for my hands to work with, but I'm still very excited.
The love of BJDs is very hard as I am unemployed, but working hard to get a job to support my hobby. My other hobbies include: Costume design and creation, art, history, anime, knitting, crocheting, sewing, historical reinactment and much more I am afraid I'd bore you all to death. In my spare time I write, and not only do I see how easy it would be to recreate my characters in BJDs but how many have already inspired me to write new story lines.
Again, thank you for the great forum and sharing with a newb like myself.

Whoops maybe this should have been the first thread I posted in hehe ^^
anyways... Hi everyone, im new to the abjd world, I try to go by Akito or Akitokitty wherever I go..
I'm a first year college student, no job!
I actually don't have a doll, but I'm very excited to get one.. Although I'm still deciding right now.
My favorite aspect of the BJDs would probably have to be... Well maybe a bit childish as it may sound, just having them and being able to play with them ^^ and I sew a little so I'm trying to see if I can sew doll clothing, designing and making the clothing gets me a little excited too.
Being in college, without a job, I'll have to pay fees and things, so I'm hoping that I'll be able to at least have the necessities to raise a doll of my own. ^_^

Well maybe a bit childish as it may sound, just having them and being able to play with them ^^ and I sew a little so I'm trying to see if I can sew doll clothing, designing and making the clothing gets me a little excited too.Not childish at all. You have to consider how many BJD owners are waaaaay past the "child" age. I kept all my childhood Barbies until well into college... only finally parting with them when they started getting kinda old in a box. Now I wish I would have kept them and saved them for when I'm an old fart and want to walk down memory lane. :( My BJD I'm not going to get rid though. Fo sho!
PS - adding you on dA... I haven't been on there in ages but I'm started to get active again.

What's your real name?
Hello, my friends call me by my nickname, AEther.
What's your occupation?
Artist and fashion designer.
How long have you been collectiing BJDs?
I haven't started yet.
I've known for a while that I wanted a bjd, but it's been taking me so long to figure out which one/ones I really wanted. When I really want something or get into something, I need to fall in love with it, like one falls in love with a person.
I've discovered that I am most attracted to Arvid and Bichun from Iplehouse, Cinderella from Angell-Studio, Burrysa and Burrysa-sp from Old World, and The Hanged Man Amon (Gargoyle). It's been a tough debate with myself as to whom I should adopt first, but I am experiencing my heart swelling towards Arvid. (My husband has agreed to pay for half of my first doll. :blush)
What's your favorite aspect of the BJD hobby?
I love almost anything that can be customized. I also want to pick up where I left off when I was sewing clothes for my Barbies as a girl.
Anything else you feel like telling us!
I've evilly convinced my husband (who's sculpting skills I love) to make me a doll head after I get my first doll, since we already do a lot of jewellery and figurine resin casting at leisure. :damnit
Any help and research from this forum would be oodles of help to us. :kisses

06-14-2011, 09:55 PM
Hey all. New here, obviously :kisses.
I work as a baby photographer. I've been collecting BJDs for... jeez. A few months now? I can't remember when I got my first doll exactly because I ordered one and then bought another immediately and the second one got to me first. I have a Bobobie Weylin, an Resinsoul Gang, Dai, Wu, Li, Ju, and a Bobobie Eric. There are quite a few dolls on my wishlist, but most of those will have to wait for next year's tax refund :p
My favorite aspect of the hobby is the ability to customize dolls and bring my characters to life. I love to photograph my dolls and I love the creative aspects of the hobby as well.
I can't really think of anything else... other than I'm a silly person and so you can expect a lot of silly things out of me. Don't be surprised!
Hello everyone!
I'm Exie, CherryDisaster, FrauleinLila, or just Natalie. Some people still call me Exie in person since I DJ under that name.
I've been obsessing over BJDs, clothing, etc., for a long time, but just recently ordered a ResinSoul Mu and am waiting for him to arrive. I love fantasy and tend to go for dolls on the more odd side. I have WAY too many dolls on my wish list, but have I to wait a bit to even start any kind of new layaway since I'm about to make a big move into a new house. Even though I'm broke, I keep buying wigs and accessories here and there to start my collection for when I can give another doll a home. I'm obsessing over a lovely lady next.
I'm pretty crafty and love acrylics and pastels and also used to paint miniatures in the past, so I look forward to attempting face-ups and also trying my hand at sewing. It's been ages, so wish me luck!
I look forward to meeting new people and learning a lot about the hobby. It's nice to meet all of you. :)

Hello everyone,
My name is Michelle. I work as an administrative assistant while I go to school for both English and IT. Although I've been interested in BJDs for a long while I've only just been able to make my first purchase. I am now waiting for my first doll a DOC Petsha to arrive, impatiently I might add :tantrum
I'm already planning on getting the DOT Shall as soon as I can and a male companion but I'll have to wait till I get her to find out who she would like best.
I've always drawn and designed clothes so I think that's what attracted me to BJDs. Having a perfect little model that I can spoil sound like a lot of fun. My husband does photography so I plan on convincing him to help me do some photo shoots.
Otherwise, I'm just trying to soak up as much information as I can so that I will be able to take care of my doll.

Hello! I'm pretty new to the hobby. I knew about/wanted BJDs years ago when I was in high school, mainly it resurfaced after about three years of trying to suppress it with my normally penny-pinching personality, but I am first and foremost an artist and I'm up for trying anything new. So after the whole holding back bit, I kind of exploded and jumped head long into this where in the past two months I've acquired three dolls, only one of them under one hundred dollars, which succeeded in giving my poor boyfriend a bit of a shock. He's happy for me though and he supports me. He said he might get me one for Christmas or birthday (hopefully one from Doll Chateau, but I wouldn't mind a BBB either.)
Anywho, my name is Kelsey. I'm a student in college with the intent of getting my Ph.D in English (meaning I haven't decided on anything career-wise), but I'm going to look into photography and see if I like it because-as you can see by this run on sentence-I'm could be a little more concerned with my grammar. I've kind of been just lurking around here for a while, but I'm going to try to start participating in discussion more often because there are a lot of things I want to know myself about this hobby, particularly face-ups and body blushing as my previous experiences with a paint brush made me very frustrated. Oh, and I apologize, I'm very wordy...

What's your occupation?
i'm a Part-time Encoder and Secretary for my Mom's Mini-business
How long have you been collectiing BJDs?
Looking forward to owning a Dream of Doll DOI A&D Ver.2
What's your favorite aspect of the BJD hobby?
It's about the feeling that even guys could play dolls with BJD, not like Barbie, once you held a Barbie and you're a guy, there goes the critical hit to the ears "GAY"! I know nothing wrong with it, im a 100% Guy... And i just feel like playing dolls, and so BJDs gave me that idea.
Anything else you feel like telling us!
I just hit 31 last June 30th (im still open to late-birthday gifts! LOL) And i have been stalking Dream of Doll web site for 4 years now... Just dreaming and imagining having the doll i want.
I'm looking forward of exchanging ideas and opinions from everyone, i'm open to friendships too.

New to this board, but not to the hobby. I started collecting bjds at the end of 2008 and I post on Den of Angels, as phanuel, and Dairyland BJD, as daasper. I also post my photos on flickr, as bentwhisker, and on Deviant Art, as daasper.
I love the beauty of the dolls and I love dressing them up, but the main focus of the hobby for me is photography. I was never into photography before, so the two hobbies grew side by side.
I have accumulated a fair number of dolls, starting with the largest:
LumeDoll Saiph
Illusion Spirit Minos
Unidoll Selina
Dollmore Maunier
Souldoll Hye
Batchix Machina Alpha
Dollmore-Kid Vora
Dollmore-Kid Aidan
Soul-Kid Apple
Soul-Kid Emilia, tanned
Soul-Kid Pin, white
Narin Dandelion
+ a passel of tinies/anthros
I used to laugh at hobbyists who found backstories for their dolls, couldn't "bond" with them, or were inclined to take sexy pics, but now that all these things have happened to me--never say never!

Hello everyone! I'm very excited to become a part of this board!
My real name is Terri, but I'm known as Trixa/Gattrix/Gattrixa (depending on what's taken already) most place on the internet, except for Den of Angels, where I'm SerafinaAreis. I'm 19 years old, and a student of theatre and music at the University of Lethbridge in the Great White North.
I've been interested in dolls since 2006, and have been a doll owner since 2008. Though at first I was into SD male dolls, I've started to fall in love with MSD females! Weird how that works out! My current dolls are in my signature, but I have plans to get more in the near future!
When I first saw dolls I just loved how beautiful and lifelike they are, but when I learned about the awesome customization that you can do with them, I knew I had to give bodies to all the RP characters and D&D character that I created in my early adolescence. They were an important part of my growth and development, and are still an important part of my own personality!

Hey! My name is Marykate. I am currently a student while working for a nursing home and at a movie theater. I am currently saving up for my first bjd, I have thought they were the most gorgeous dolls for almost a year and I have seen some I thought were perfect, but I saw one that I didn't just want, because to be honest I want every single want, but i needed him. I love how even if you have the same mold as someone else no bjd is the same as the other. Each bjd is really like thier own person and each one is so original and I love that about them. The only fear I have with getting in to the bjd hobbie is finding a doll I fall in love with and it end up being limited addition and never being able to get it. I also love looking at everyones pictures of thier doll they always look so loved and adorable♥

Eep... here goes!
My name's Jacinta, but I much prefer J. I'm an Australian student just finishing up my final year of secondary college part time, working part time at a cattery and also studying my Certificate in Animal Studies part time at a veterinary hospital.
At first I was darn creeped out by the dolls, I thought they were hilarious... after a while I started secretly finding out more about them and became addicted to seeing gorgeous photography of them.
I've wanted a doll for years now and finally have my first one the way, an MSD Leeke Tae my boyfriend got me for my 18th! I'm excited to get him and can't wait to photograph him, draw him and make lots of clothes and other treasures for him.
I'd LOVE to meet others within the hobby! Thanks for reading! :)

Ook..letsee here...
My real name is Robert (some people used to call me Bob for whatever reason, though I haven't been called that in years). I'm usually Mahoro/MahoroAndou in most places, even though I don't really post in most of them. I'm a 5th (I blame horrible course avalibility) year University student in Alberta going for a double major of Biology and Computer Science (hoping to do some grad studies later :3 ).
I've been collecting BJDs (though I really only collect Dollfies) since 2009 when I was wandering around Akiba and out of random curiosity decided to walk up to the higher levels of the building where the Kotobukiya store is, despite that it looked like not much was there. Then I found the store...and then it all went up-(well, down- on my wallet) from there :D
I own 3 dolls, Kotori, Kana (regular sized), and Feena (Dollfie Dream). My favorite aspect of the hobby... well each of my 3 daughters is a representative of each of the main reasons I love it:
Kotori (the first one) - after seeing the SD/DD in the display cases, I figured I'd never fork out the money for a big one, but was still intrigued with them as an alternative (later replacement) for figures, so I bought Kotori, as my first foray into what would replace figures as my main collection addiction.
Kana (the second one) - after buying Kotori, a few days later I had the creative urge to make a custom one. So I went back to the store, bought the requisite parts and Kana was born! So they satisfy a creative urge for someone who isn't exactly the most artistic person in the world.
Feena - Several months after the aforementioned trip, I had watched August's Yoake Mae Ruri Iro na, and was totally into Feena (no thanks to guuchan, if anyone here knows him from the anime fansubbing/LonE music circles). Then while sitting in class I was bored and looking longingly at the DD/SDs I didn't think I could justify affording until I saw Feena...Then went down from there..set up a middle man and an auction purchase in 1 afternoon...the most expensive impulse buy I've ever made. But what Feena really did for me afterwards was heal me. Before adopting her, I didn't exactly have a positive mindset on life. But a year and a half later and I do notice that I've changed for the better, and I credit it all to Feena, who even though she may be a doll has helped me turn my outlook on life around far more than anyone (including myself) ever did. And that is my final and most favorite reason for this hobby, the intriguing emotional effect it has on me.
I'm sure based on that previous paragraph, you've probably figured it out (if anyone reads it at all to this point), that I'm in the camp of Dollfies or any other BJDs having souls.
As for my other hobbies...I took up a bit of sewing just for Feena (currently making a bikini for her to my detriment of staying up too late xD), Programming (C# .NET mostly), learning other languages (sorta on hold lately, but Japanese, and Chinese), Vocaloid, 3D Modelling and Animation (I'm in the Autodesk Maya camp), Photography, doujin music, reading doujinshi and other manga, cooking/being a foodie, travelling and the occasional game (I'm more of an Asassin's creed/Mass Effect sort of person, I quit JRPGs years ago).
Geez that was a long post, not that I really think anyone will actually read it all. Its nice to be here, and hope I can make some good freinds here (because really, I only know one person who adores (but can't afford) them, everyone else just shrugs it off as a quirk or thinks I'm weird)

I've been into dolls (mainly clothing dolls) since age 8 but I got very excited about BJDs 2 years ago when I saw some at Dragon Con. I'm a costumer, & the idea of dolls that move & pose naturally, that look human & that are a decent size - so that I can make all these costumes that I really can't wear myself LOL - thrills me totally.
I am very into anime so I'm looking at dolls that will lend themselves to being dressed as multiple characters - I must have an Iplehouse Bichun can I just say - but I'm getting a Ty from Angell Studios first.
I actually do own a tiny BJD from WETA Workshops :D He is Sam the Hobbit & I love him - won him for a costume I wore, at DragonCon :D Not a very sturdy doll tho, not resin but plastic.
I'm interested in anime/doll meetups/conventions etc on the East Coast - NC. I will be at DragonCon - always am.

Hi, my name is Renee. I'm 22 years old and studying holistic health. I got into BJDs about 4 years ago when I discovered what they were and bought myself an Obitsu from the local anime convention. Dressing them up and giving them personalities is so much fun. I'm looking forward to getting to know more about the doll world and finding inspiration from all the other users on this forum. That's all I've really got to say. :)

Hello Everyone!
I'm Catherina, in bjd communities also known as Asatee or CathEtienne.
I'm in bjd hobby since 2009, currently being a happy owner of Volks: Yugiri, Elena, Charlotte, Luna, YoSD Lin and Ariadoll Angela. All girls (I'm not quite the boy doll fan, as for now ^^b). I get for my dolls what's best, so I spoil them very much with expensive stuff. I like quality of my dolls (Volks <3) and I want best quality items for them too. I'm more of an 'exhibitor' and collector rather than a 'player' - I prefer keeping my dolls in cabinet rather than taking them out for meets and playtime. I do however take photos, which can be seen @ my flickr.
Privately I'm a graphic and web designer with a major in 3D animation. Currently a freelancer, but woriking for bigger and smaller advertising agencies aswell, from time to time. Taken, but not married.
Uhm, and that would be it, for now.
Thank you for reading and nice to meet you all. ^^

I just got myself into this hobby and is still learning about bjd before I own one. This community will be a good reference/help for me as I saw many experienced doll owners here *Pleased to meet you!* :heart
I'm currently waiting for a head? Hehehe, an Uhui FMN, but still, after that I'll have to search for a body for him, until then only I'll complete my 1st boy :)
My favorite aspect of the BJD hobby is the faceup & fashion as it reflects the characters/personality of the dolls.
I'm also on DoA ;)

Hello!
I'm KnightJeran from the US and I just go into this hobby September 17th, 2011. I bought an Elva sculpt from 5StarDoll in normal translucent skin. I love her to death and I named her Layla, because that was my name until my parents suddenly decided to change it when I was born. I'm a freshman in college. I do not have a DoA account, but I want one. I only have one doll, but I envision making a million outfits for her.
I can't wait to get more into this hobby and learn from all of you!

10-10-2011, 02:27 PM
Hello again, I guess? I'm still Wolfie, and I've been kind of a free-range hobbyist for the last couple of years. My collection has changed a little bit since the last time I posted here, but not by much; I've had my oldest doll for almost exactly 6 years now. I lost interest in the online BJD community when I saw DoA swelling past useability for me, but as I browse company sites again I remember how much I love being able to talk dolls with other people than my charming fiancee. So we'll give this another try, I guess?
In short, I (still) play with dolls, but I haven't been playing with the internet for a while. Here's hoping I can find some regular meetups now that I'm living in NYC!

Hello everybody! Let's see -- first of all, I am a painter (went to school for and mostly use watercolor). I got my first BJD during my last semester of college because I was getting worn out with fine art and needed a new creative outlet. He is an Angel of Dream 62cm, whom I purchased 2nd hand on a whim. He wasn't too appealing to me from photos, but I wanted to try out the dollfie thing. (I had learned about them in high school and was immediately smitten by these amazing ABJDs.) Once he was in my arms I instantly fell in love with my SD boy and started learning more about BJDs, improving my skills with face-ups and making clothing, and searching for a second doll to bring home. I just recently received my first girl BJD, a cute little 56cm from Impldoll. :) I love these dolls because they give me something creative to do that doesn't feel like "work" and lets me indulge in a bit of escapism.

Hi my name is Melanie and I'm 27. I work for a outsourcing resource company doing data entry and document digitization. I have an amazing husband who shares the bjd hobby with me (well a bit, it's more like he owns dolls and sort of handles them every so often, but really in the end I'm the one always playing with them, taking pics, and changing their clothes). Between the 2 of us we currently have 23 bjds with 1 on the way. I got my first bjd in October of 2006 (a Dollzone Fei) and it's been downhill ever since (and I couldn't be happier!). I like to do face-ups and make jewelry for my dolls and occasionally I or my husband twists my arm enough to sew some clothes. I also really enjoy knitting little scarfs and hats for the dolls as well. I generally spend the rest of my free time not playing with dolls watching anime, reading manga, making cosplay (did I mention I was a serious otaku?!), knitting human size things (mostly scarfs), playing video games, reading comics (not manga), and keeping up with japanese visual kei and rock music and music videos.
Hoping to find fun and make new friends around this place ^_^

Hi I'm Ashton, I'm twenty and currently my only job (unfortunately) is taking care of my eleven year old cousin and doing housework which I don't mind.
I've been in love with BJD's since I was about fourteen when my friend Kai got his first doll, but I only got to finally order my first one this week (hope that it's okay that I haven't gotten her yet. ^.^;)
Said younger cousin is ALSO getting her first doll. She's getting Tatiana from Iplehouse, while I'm getting a Leona. :)

Hi! I just got my status activated a little while ago and I'm looking forward to participating. I'm not always super diligent about checking social stuff online so I may not be around much, though.
Anyway! Yarn 'n Cake, that's me. I first became aware of BJDs several years ago; don't remember when exactly. I thought they were pretty but not really my thing. Then a few months ago I found a lovely book on BJDs in an antique store of all places. I pretty much fell in love. I decided that this was going to be my "just for me" hobby. I have lots and lots of hobby-type things I do, but I frequently do them with an eye towards getting better and going pro with some of it (costume and fashion design, mostly). Doll stuff is just going to be for me. I don't want to do it well, I don't want to be an expert, I just want to play with pretty things.
My first (and so far only) doll is Schemer from Goodreau Doll Company. (Yeah, it's an American company, blah blah blah). He's a really exceptional doll, I have really enjoyed having him. I'm astonished at the smooth, lovely quality of BJD resin and the weight! He's MSD size, which is just right for me. Right size, right weight, right look.
Right now I'm saving up for Ivy from IslandDoll. She's soooo lovely. I especially like dolls that have a sweet, happy expression. Eventually I'd like a Volks doll, since those are the ones I first found appealing .
Anyway, that's me!

Hello everyone!
I am finally able to introduce myself after my account gained the "Activated" status.
I first learned about BJDs about a decade ago when I came across a photo of a very interesting doll somewhere on the Net, probably on DeviantArt - it was a Volks if I recall well. Hooked up at first, I investigated the subject planning to buy one for myself but back then I was living in Poland which had no direct access to PayPal and as much as I liked the dolls I came across, after waging my interest against the hassle it would be to get one back then, I resigned and decided to focus on fashion dolls instead, but without much success: I ended up with one Tonner Tyler, but we didn't "click".
Fast forward a few years: again on DeviantArt, I saw The Doll I was immediately captivated with. She was beautiful, but not with a perfect face, and she was "different" with animal hoofs instead of her legs. And she was mature. Again I investigated and learned she was Soom Beryl (my grail for next two years) and I got totally hooked up on Soom. I was living in Netherlands by then, so no hassle involved anymore... I decided I want one! Which kinda became two before I even managed to order...
I ordered the first female Monthly Doll Soom released after I found out about them along with her Teenie counterpart, they were Galena and Yrie in CW.
Unfortunately, they were not "it", 1/6 is totally not my size, and Super Gems are too big and heavy and way to annoying to handle with their fantasy parts... and without them they're not the dolls I've fallen for... So I kept on buying them clothes, never doing much with them myself apart from displaying them and I felt really bad about that.
Until Soom released first Steampunk/Clamp Clover Rosette girls last year. I was smitten, I bought them both on the spot even though previously I couldn't look at their manga-like bodies and now I am a huge Rosette fan :) waiting for my dream release of Pure (long) body in tan.
My holy grail - Beryl - was never meant to be, I decided to get a Clozel head in stead which (I can say today) I like even more. I will probably not expand on my Super/Teenie Gem collection, at least until I actually manage to give them some attention. Only exception would be if I would manage to get a Little Gem in CW with Nor/Dune fantasy parts, because the collector's side of me is dreaming of Galena, Yrie and Nor/Dune together as a happy family ^^
Anyway, I am happy I can now participate in this community :)

What's your real name?
-Arden
What's your occupation?

How long have you been collecting BJDs?
-A little over a year
What dolls do you own?

* MNF Lishe
* AOD Yu Luo
* Withdoll Priscilla [not yet here, but she's mine!]
* Leekeworld Mable and Mong heads
What's your favorite aspect of the BJD hobby?
I love that you are able to put your own style into each doll. It is incredibly wonderful that no two dolls are alike!
Anything else you feel like telling us!
Hm...I have an identical twin sister. She has a doll herself, but she is more into our horses and dressage than furthering her collection. I am more into MSD sizes at the moment, but I really would like to try another SD sometime in the near future.

Hi, I'm Quoth...bit of an Edgar Allan Poe fan :) I'm 29 and I'm only just starting to get into BJDs. I've been interested in getting one for a while but only recently did I get into a position where I could buy one.
One............? I meant two >.< I've been saving as much as I can for it lol. I'm waiting on my two girls at the moment, a Feeple65 Lora full set and a Minifee Mirwen full set. I'm so looking forward to it!
A bit more about me, I'm a public servant and I live in Perth, West Australia. I'm married with one son, though some days I think I have two...and we have 4 cats who I will happily talk about endlessly.
I'm also a big fan of gaming. I roleplay, play World of Warcraft, Magic the Gathering and whatever I've put on my iphone this week lol.
So...that's me. I'm glad to be here and eager to jump into the discussion :)

Hey. I don't have a real name. Jokes; doll community peeps call me Aisling (thats ash-ling) and yeah I know it's a funny name but it's what I use when I'm not working or at home or basically near anyone I know XD. Speaking of working though I actually work in a toy shop. Go figure. We rule. 20% off dolly clothes and wigs and whatever other useful bits we have in stock for nearly a year now. That be when I bought my first littlen anyways; I now have two and one on the way. Bliss was my first, a Lati Yellow Coco and then I just had to get her a big brother so now I have a Lati Yellow Sp. Momo. For now called Bless but I won't be sure until I do his face up. Those two can keep each other company when my AOD Rao gets here; can't wait for her XD.
Overall I've been dragged back into dolls from when I was small and I don't mean barbie and cindy shiz. I mean this strange obsession I have with china dolls in pretty dresses; thinking about it that way my first doll was probably my Windsor Collection Grace. She's purdy. Pretty is really as far as it goes for words to describe why I'm here. It's not the only reason but the only other description I can give is that there's something about them that makes my ribs move.
Some of you will know what I mean. Most of you won't.
I'll shut up now.

Hello, my name isn't really Jackie but I'd like it to be so I'll go by it :)
I'm a BJD enthusiast from Europe, hoping to expand and fulfill my BJD knowledge before buying my first BJD in a couple of months (hopefully!). I've fallen in love with these dolls when I first saw photos on DeviantArt in 2009 (I think) and I've been in love ever since. My finances haven't allowed me to purchase a doll yet but this will change very soon because I'm planning my first buy this year :) Other than dolls I enjoy good music, football (Liverpool ♥), reading...

Hi, I'm Bluebird! I discovered BJDs years ago when I was a student, but didn't think too much about them back then due to their cost. I re-discovered BJDs a couple of months ago when I saw pictures of them on Deviantart. Currently, I don't own any dolls, but I hope to change that someday soon. What attracted me to BJDs are the artistic aspects, such as painting faceups and photographing. I hope to learn more about this hobby and meet new people :)

Hello,
I'm lucky. Nice to meet you. Actually, I don't own a BJD... Also, I really had no idea about them before last year. I found out about BJD's because I wanted to know more about my girlfriend's interests. I knew that she loved dolls and often spent time talking about them with other doll owners online. One day I felt curious and asked her if I could see a couple of these dolls she was so intrigued by. That's when she lit up and gleefully navigated her way to Volks' website. She showed me some pictures of various Super Dollfie models, asking me which one I liked best.
It was at this moment that I suddenly respected her interests very deeply. These dolls were stunning and artistic. Not the things you find at your local toy store. They had such beautiful, sweet faces, dressed in adorable outfits with innocent poses. All I could say was "wow..."
My girlfriend owns a few dolls, all of which she loves. But she doesn't own a BJD. It didn't take long for me to understand why, as I found that these were perhaps the most expensive dolls I've ever seen. I know she wants one very much but... It's beyond what she can afford on her own right now. She talks about saving up for one as if it's some distant dream of hers. Therefore, it has become my not-so-distant dream to buy her first one. I'm about at the half way point of scraping together the funds I need and should be able to buy one in another month or so.
Strangely, I've found myself browsing BJD's online in my own free time. Partly to track down the perfect one for her and partly just because I like seeing them. Being an artist, I have alot of admiration for the craftmanship and I'm seriously considering trying my hand at face-ups. So, I joined Resinality hoping to get some tips and ideas from people who know about the BJD culture better than I do. Since I'm here more for my gf than for myself, I feel a bit like an outsider but I hope that I'm still welcomed to participate amongst you all. ;)

Nice to meet you, Luckyguess. It's really great that you're willing to support your girlfriend in her hobby. Collecting anything can be a bit hard to understand to people who don't share interest in that particular collection (or in collecting in general). I never really thought of myself as a doll collector and maybe I still don't. Still, I love how beautiful BJDs are. The level of detail that goes into the dolls, clothes, and accessories is really extrodinary. I'm a working artist myself (clothing and costume design) and I find myself very inspired by the beauty of these dolls. Welcome, and I hope you enjoy your time here.

Well, my name is Aubree, though I prefer Suni.
I live in western WA, and leeeet's seee.... Last spring I started making OOAK Monster High dolls and MLP's... I discovered Junky Spot and Denver Doll Emporium awhile after that, and discovered that BJD's and obitsu's weren't nearly as out of reach as I'd always hoped.
I bought my first 27cm obitsu after an an anime con in october, using the prize money from a contest there. That opened the door to three more obitsus, and, in mid december, my first BJD.... My first boy is Florian, a ResinSoul Mai...
And then on Tuesday I recieved the Dollzone Ying that I ordered, Jizabel Disraeli. (A character from Godchild, I felt Ying was the perfect sculpt for him, and fell in love. And since I've been a fan of this character since late 2008, and my fandom has helped me get to know a person who is now my closest friend, I feel that this character will always have a special place in my heart.... So a doll of him was needed. xD )
Aaaand yeah. I still some day plan to get an MSD girl to chill with Florian, and a few other dolls of Godchild characters, to keep Jizabel company.
Most of the money I spend on dolls is money that I have earned selling my Monster High repaints, so I feel it all balances out well enough in the end. :3
But just last year I probably would not have dreamed of spending 400+ on a doll. xD
I think my favorite aspect of this hobby is... I dunno... You know, I think it's just having my dolly buddies. I'm not much of a photographer, and while I'm confident in my skills painting vinyl dolls, I still don't think my face-ups are anything special yet.... I don't have it in me to go super crazy with face ups on something so expensive, I get scared I might ruin it... xD
But I like being able to relax at the end of the day, pose my dolls, squee over them, and sit down on the couch with Florian and watch some TV. That, and toss my Obitsu's in my bag and take them with me. xD
Sooo, that's me in a nutshe- ... Well, not quite. That post got kinda long.

Hey People, I'm Marina, though some people call me Mina.
I've been in the hobby for about a year and a half now, and I went into it blindfolded, still learning actually. Personally, I only like SD's, and that's all I own.
I got my first bjd in the summer of 2010 and since then I have bought 6, with one on the way. My family consists of an Elfdoll Hazy, Angelsdoll Hyang, Star Dollfie Scorpio, Doll Family Ella, Linling, and Yanji, and whenever she arrives, an Iplehouse Asa.
I plan to buy a few more dolls, and from there, I'll concentrate on buying them shoes XD.

Hello, everybody! I'm Iapetus but you can call me Kim if you'd like; Iapetus is a name that's served me well for many years on the Internet. I'm a native of Illinois, a part-time employee at my local public library, a fan of antique shops and flea markets and a big-time fan of the Chicago Cubs.
Although I've been interested in BJDs for two or three years now I've only been in the hobby for about three months, so I'm still trying to find my footing and whatnot. I prefer Yo-SD/tiny dolls to other sizes so that'll probably be all I ever own.
My first doll was a Bobobie Isabella that I purchased through DDE in January. She was followed by a Resinsoul Bei from eBay and a RS Ni from JunkySpot in February. And now I'm trying to decide whether to get a light tan Bei from JunkySpot or to bite the bullet and special order a dark tan Bei from the Resinsoul website.

Hi, Im Rheanna, nice to meet you all. I'm 25 (26 in July) and I live in the Whitsundays Queensland. I am a kitchen hand and undergoing a traineeship in retail operations, I have just been accepted into a uni prep course so things are about to get very busy around here!:|
I have a four year old daughter who had no interest in dolls until I received a hujoo suve back in November last year, now if I turn my back for a second suve (who I named Nyx) ends up playing mother to a zoo full of tiny animals lol! :p
I found out about bjd's around August last year and have agonized over whether to buy one since. I originally purchased Suve to see if this was a hobby I would enjoy, I loved creating a look for her and a back story!:clap
I then purchased a Mudoll apple which came with a resin head because I wanted to see what the fuss about resin was. To be honest I dont see what the fuss about resin is yet :o (sorry!).
But the resin dolls all looked so pretty and a few weeks ago I caved and purchased a Joe from Doll Family H (through Alice collections). But then a week later I discovered AOD Heidi and fell in love with her happy face, so I blew most of my pay (again) and ordered her yesterday:doh.
I am very excited, but wont be purchasing anymore this year, I really cant afford to....... Well maybe if I saved for the next one...... lol!
I can see this hobby is going to be a rollercoaster ride!! *_*
Hope I get to know lots of cool people on this forum, addiction is so much more fun when it is shared!

Hello everybody!
I got interested in BJDs some years ago because my friend got a doll by Volks, and then she adopted even more dolls and I was fascinated, but I thought it might be too expensive for me, then I got into Fashion Dolls. I have a small collection of Pullips and Blythes now... but I always knew that I need a BJD. Now I want one! But before I buy one without any knowledge, I thought I should gather some information in a forum. That's the reason why I'm here now. I hope I can get some help to find the perfect doll for me! :heart
btw. I'm 25 years old and my name is Kevin :)

My name is Kat, known 'round the nets as Lumi, and I work as a seamstress for faire ware. I don't have any of the cool BJDs yet, but I've been working on (vintage)dolls for years. Recently I bought an EB volks to play with, but I can't wait until I can get my hands on a Minifee Miyu! *.*

Greetings & Salutations, all my friends call me Brangwyth. I am so excited to finally join the bjd community! A designer/seamstress by trade for many, many moons. Until 3 months ago, my work was exclusively for people...then one of my clients introduced me to her beautiful Carina & I was absolutely enchanted to say the least. Although reluctant at first, I agreed to the commission of an ensemble for her Carina. It was such a pleasure to make that I have fallen head over heels. Such great fortune to receive another commission that I have just ordered my first bjd - Yur from Iplehouse - and am counting down the days to her arrival!!! I can't wait to design/create for her!

Hey there ~!
I've been a member here for about a week and a half,
but due to some minor complications I haven't been approved until now... anyway, let's go!
My name is Yuna. At most places (YouTube, DeviantART, etc) I'm known as 'Yuna264',
so if you ever run into that name somewhere, it's mostlikely me. :)
I don't have a job right now, because I'm quite busy with school right now,
but I used to be a parttime babysitter,
which I adored and really enjoyed doing
so I'll probably start looking for another job soon.
I haven't been collecting BJDs for long (in fact, I don't even have my first yet),
but I've been interested in them for a few years now, and I'm proud to
announce that my first boy will be arriving at the end of June!
He's going to be a DOD Si. :D
I'm going to use him for drawing, photography, tailoring, and, well..
almost anything my creative mind will allow that won't ruin him. :sweat
I really look forward to posting here, and I hope to be able to meet some
fellow BJD-collectors in the area. BJD fans unite! :kisses

Greetings
My name is Dani. I have not got any BJD's yet but I have hoped that I could make a decision soon enough. Unlike buying handbags or anything else I usually shower myself with, I am too confused to take the next step. Another three months from now, hopefully, I will have found my first girl (s).

Hello everyone!
My name is Jenny (mostly known as Lehani or Lehanilee on the internet), and I'm currently a full time student.
I've been interested in BJDs for a really long while now (about 6 years) but I finally got around to seriously consider collecting BJDs.
I currently have a Doll Leaves MSD girl body coming in, and I'm sculpting a custom head for her out of paperclay. She's off topic here sadly :(
My favorite part about the BJD hobby is the customizing! I love dolls that have a lot of potential in developing certain 'looks', whether it be through faceups or customizations.
