I was just thinking.. and a while back, I had a set of Na-Nu-Ri twins. Unfortunately, one was sold.. but sometime in the future, I'd like to have Unoa twins as well. So I wondered -- Resinality, how do you feel about multiples? Would you buy two of the same mold? Three? Four? MORE? Do your multiples look the same? Do they wear the same wig, eyes, faceup, clothes? Share all -- and don't forget the pictures!

Oh boy, let me tell you, I used to frown at the idea of twin dolls because they're so expensive. My best friend and I were always saying that twin dolls are cute but we'll never get one because we rather have more variety in sculpts than quantity-wise.

But you know, recently I found myself with a pair of twins in my possession. I did want them to be identical to the point of confusion, but I couldn't bring myself to wipe one of their face ups to match the other. So far I've only made them one set of clothes, I'm not sure if they'll continue wearing identical clothes. Here they are with the same wig but different kinds of green eyes. I think having them with different face ups helps to make sure that they're not ... boring? Even I sometimes forget that I have two of the same mold because they look so different. I'm sure you'll enjoy having Unoa twins in the future. They're even more fun when you don't let yourself be restricted to their twin-ness. Real twins are rarely continuously identical looking in real life anyway, especially if they're already grown up.

I always feel twins are a "waste" for me, just because there are so many headmolds out there I like already, that having two of the same mold feels redundant ^^; I'd love to have twins but I just couldn't justify it to my wallet.

I do adore twins that are similar but different headmolds, like an open-eyed head with a dreaming twin. ^^

I love twins. I have three sets of them, actually. The symmetry is quite nice. :nod

There are molds I could have a harem of, given the funds and the luck. I think only completely identical twins could get boring, and even those I've seen done really well.

I've had many multiples of molds, but none of them have ever been dressed or presented the same as the other. I love how even the same mold can look so different.

I'm one of those people who has both twin characters and multiples of the same mold.

When I'm building twin characters, I tend to use "variations" for each of the siblings rather than identical sculpts. (ie: With Harumatsu and Tien Jen, one's a Standard Shiwoo and the other is Dreaming-) Even when they're going to be very similar in dress-style and over-all "look", like my in-coming Type 2 Breakaways will be, I prefer the heads not to be 100% the same.

So, where does that leave my true "duplicate" sculpts? ... I try to make them as different from each other as possible, up to having them in different colored resin. I think I've been pretty successful at that... No one has ever mistaken Crane for Tsung-Li (BW and NS Type 1 Els), or Sjhan for Tien Jen (Type 1 NS Dreaming Shiwoo and Type 2 BW Dreaming Shiwoo).

As for them being a waste... [shrugs] To each their own. I know what I like and refuse to limit my crew to what other owners feel is "appropriate". I enjoy every one of these guys, dull or wasteful as it may seem to others for me to have them. See, while I know it's a little frowned-upon to admit to such a thing in this hobby of ours, where we're all expected to regard our dolls as something more like children than possessions, I am a bit of a Collector at heart... I like having complete sets. I like having "one of each".

It's a completeness thing. ^_^

While I respect other people's decisions to have twins or even more of the same headmold, wether they be twins or not ( I'm still having a hard time coming to terms that my two boys have the same body -_-; ) , as of this moment, I can never see myself ever wanting two of the same headsculpt. Of course right now that's easy to say as I have a very specific, small cast of characters I wish to put into resin form, but even so, I'm pretty certain if it did come to the situation where I had a set of twins I wanted to dollify, I'd end up choosing two sculpts that were similar in features, but not identical. There are so many beautiful sculpts out there and I like to broaden my horizens, and this I think would make me feel as though I were limiting myself, or as someone else mentioned, a waste.

There are times when I'm tempted to have twins, or develop a mini army of the same mold. If I do so, I would make them distinct from one another (different faceups, clothes, maybe even skintones.)

I had contemplated a pair of twins, boy and girl, for awhile. However, I'm feeling overwhelmed by the number of dolls I already have that I don't think that I can fit them into my plans. However, having twins of any sort would be great. I think that there are a few molds out there that I wouldn't mind having double of at all, especially since you can make subtle differences that really show great ranges of personality.

I have two open-eyed Elfdoll Soahs (one in normal skin, one in white skin), plus a sleeping head for each.. At least one of the Reminisce heads will get it's own body later and be a character on it's own, so I'll end up with three Soahs. Still, I feel that they are all very different characters, and the first of them (that was my first bjd as well) is still unique and a bit more special to me than the others.

My Soahs are not twins (or triplets), though. The white skin soah belongs to a completely differnent story than the others; the other two are sisters but not twins. I like that they have different skin tone/ different eyes, and I don't think I would want two dolls that are completely the same. Soah is my favourite mold, and apparently I just couldn't resist getting all the different versions of her. :) I don't think there are any other molds that I'd need two or more of.

i see nothing wrong with twins or triplets if thats how you want to collect. i have 2 pipos one is pink and the other black so they are different enough. i dont think i would have two exact copies of dolls though- they would have to be a bit different from each other like fraternal twins.

I have twin Sharmin as well as twin Lishe, twin El, twin DD2 with the DDOP-01 head... I think it's safe to say that twins don't bother me. If you look in my albums, Kaede and Momiji are twin Lishe, but they don't look much alike!

I don't think I personally would have twins, but if I did, it would be with different face ups. Similar enough to look like twins, but each different in their own way.

I never really thought about twins but lately I have been tempted and if I did see my girls twin come up....well...
I'd be very tempted and may not be able to resist !
When I still had sticker shock about the price of BJD's I
would never had considered it. I enjoy seeing twins on
the boards, I don't see any problem with it.

I never really thought about twins either, but I wouldn't mind same sculpt twins. Identically dressed twins (or identically dressed anything) are not my thing though.

When i decided to purchase my second doll I decided to do a twin. I was unsure if i should get the same doll (have some variety) but really liked the look of my Sia. Unfortunately, Customhouse decided to redo the mold on their Sia and they are similiar but not identical. I still dress them as twins at times but they each have their own personality, one is sweet in pastels and the other is opposite. My newest project is that i will have 2 Kid Delf Woori's (one a boy and one a girl). I think their mold is adorable.

I have no problem with twins, triplets, or multiples. I have a pair of girl and boy twin mnf elf shiwoos. One is the open eyed head, the other is the vampire head with the eyes open and the fangs removed. They may be the same mold, but they are incredibly different. I'm also working on a pair of boy twins, but they're fraternal, so the one is a DoD Kirill, and the other will end up being a DoD Ivan (when I get around to buying him).

As for identicle molds, I don't think I'd want two of the same molds had have them with the exact same everything. I'd want to show their personalities a little more, so that even if they were the same mold with the same eyes and hair, their face-ups would be slightly different so they can be seen as two seperate characters. My friend is contemplating a pair of twins, getting a second Juri '05, but not only would her second girl have a different style of wig, but her face would have different make-up. They may be identicle, but they have different personalities and lives and styles that make them look different.

It seems silly to me to have an exact duplicate of the same doll. I suppose there are people out there that love a mold so much that have to own several of them, but I'd rather have distinctly different dolls. Sure, I love the Delf Shiwoo's, but each one I'd get would be definately different.

I really adore twins. I couldn't quite imagine myself owning them for the longest time (none of our characters had a twin), but then we made friends with a lovely girl who had twins of our first doll's mold and seeing so many gorgeous pictures of his dreaming head (while I was falling in love with dreaming heads in general) pretty much convinced me I wanted one.

I don't think of them as 'duplicates'. They're too different, and honestly, I'd rather have twins than extra floating heads for when a doll wants to half-close his eyes just because I dug a dreaming head.

I love twin dolls. There are certain molds that I could very easily have multiples of, possibly as siblings or twins. I'd love to have Volks F16 girls in every skintone, for example. I don't think of them as duplicates, but as a mold I really, REALLY like, and want to try different things with. I'd have a hard time doing "exactly alike," even with my planned twins, because even the most identical of twins have differences in personality and attitude, and I'd want to express that in their faceups.

However, even if you had the same faceup artist give each doll the exact same faceup, I think there would still be subtle differences between the two. ^-^

Fun topic!

I have three sets of twins and one set of triplets. Did I ever think I'd go that far? No. Am I loving it? Oh yeah! :clap I really enjoy the differences and similarities. And well, there's just something so endearing and fascinating about twins/triplets anyway. I wouldn't at all be surprised if I got more sets in the future :o

Here's the extent of my obsession :kisses

I have a Serendipity Dobby and I really think the Charles mold looks like it could be is twin, with just a different expression on. Id love to do exact twins just for the great photo opportunities, but I dont think Ill ever sink that much money into this hobby.

I would love to buy multiples of the same sculpt. They may technically be the same mold but once painted and clothed they can become very unique. For instance I would love to explore the possibility of identical twins of opposite genders.
Even for those who make their identical twins look exactly the same - I feel that it is human nature to enjoy synchronicity and symmetry. If having one feels good, two is possibly better!

I have triplets of a mold I wasn't entirely fond of to begin with. It started as a free head, so I did a faceup on her and actually dug it. Then I wound up getting a second free head with another order, so I did a faceup on that one to give as a gift to a friend. It sort of went in theme with the first, so I figured I'd acquire another one to continue the theme... and then another...

Now I'm actually working on acquiring a fourth to complete the group! They're all very different in faceup, wigs, outfits, so while they might be the same mold and skintone, they're very distinct.

My School C twins =3.

Comment: One of my favourite twins! Their visual image helped comfort me with my decision to start buying some clothes for my twins in duplicate.

----------------------

Would I buy twins? Yes, in fact I already have twins. I love to look at twins. The more identical they are the more I love looking at them, but I also love searching for small differences between the two ---- particularly if the doll owner intended for these differences.

My twins are nearly identical, though they are more mirrors of each other. Each have one light grey and one darker grey, with the order reversed from one to the other.

Their face up did their face-ups at the same time and were done nearly identical as I had requested. I say nearly because there are differences. The biggest is that that while one has a scar on his right eyebrow, the other has the scar on the left. The best part of their face-ups is that they were painted to give subtle differences in impressions. Whether at a cursory appraisals or a long-hard examination, one twin has a sweeter appearance than the other. This was done by subtle variations by the Face-up Artist (Violaine). But, when one first glances at the twins they are almost impossible to tell apart. The more on becomes familiar with them the easiest it is to spot them apart; just as it is for many so-called identical twins.

I had Cristal twins for a few weeks after I won the second one at the LA Dolpa. Technically they were different "personalities" of the same character, but essentially they were the same doll with different faceups. I ended up selling my first Cristal with the normal faceup because, like many others have said, there are many other headsculpts out there and it feels like a waste to me to have two of the same. I adore the normal Cristal faceup and some part of me is sad I let it go, but most of me is happy because in selling Cristal 1.0 I got to bring home my Amakusa :).

Ooh, interesting topic! XD

I love the idea of twin (or more!) dolls, but for a while never had a reason to have any, since all of my dolls are supposed to be justifiable as story characters. Then I saw an Angelregion Jade and fell in love with his little face, which could be sweet (Present Jade v1) or sharp (Present Jade v2, Tanning Jade). My brain got rolling on one of my favorite forms of presentation: contrasts.

http://mistress.mistrust.com/art/still/twins/twins-elementals01-s.jpg

I love the idea of comparing and contrasting this way... I think the two of them sharing the same base made the contrasts all the more interesting :)

I like the idea of open-eyed vs. sleeping twins, too :D Just, again, not on my agenda at the moment. Personally, I'd probably never get two of the same mold, in the same skintone, with the same faceup. I guess I'd like to see the differences that can be brought out in the same mold, rather than playing in similarities... personal preference. ^^;

I technically have a pair of twins, although they're just two characters put into the same mold because they both somehow looked 'right' to me. I think it's a nice demonstration of how flexible some head molds can be when you can have multiples of them and still have them look distinct~ Heck, even real identical twins have their differences, so it's nice to appreciate that in twin dolls too, although there's a certain appeal in seeing perfect symmetry... I'd definitely love a pair of perfectly identical dolls if I could afford it, just so I could admire them through the camera lens. X3

(PS. I can't really claim that my two K's look that overwhelmingly different from each other, but I think they're different enough XD )

Twins...? ^^;;;

I started out in the hobby with twins when I fell in love with the 4 sisters mold (1 of, like, 8 molds to chose from in the world at the time) and ended up accidentally ordering both a Kira and a Megu. (It's a long story, and miscommunication is the plot.)

http://gallery.me.com/jankafka/100011/sisters/web.jpg

But they were different enough (to me) that they were super fun to play with, and I was very happy with them. I briefly had triplets when a chance to get the SD I originally wanted, Taisho Romance Megu (see communication snafu above), came along. But after much thought, I recently rehomed Taisho Romance Megu and Kira, since I wasn't really playing with the older style SD as much as I used to (and money and space are always an issue.) My original Megu stays on - sort of the queen of the family, although mostly retired from play.)

Early in the hobby, when pictures of one of Volks earliest LE's cropped up online, I fell for Licht and Leona. I was able to order Licht, and intended to make my own Leona from optional parts (as you could in those days.) So I ordered body parts and an F-09 (for the "Leona"), along with an extra F-04 head, whom I intended to make into a boy to share bodies with Licht.

Well, Licht and Leona turned out to be Beauty White, throwing all my plans into disarray, because, of course, I had ordered all the parts in "Fresh." So, the F-04 head commandeered the body parts and became my girl, Summer - who came to being with a very distinct personality. I found a Leona auction on Y!J and ended up selling the extra F-09 head. Licht and Leona are still my royal prince and princess here. :) And still fun to play with!
http://gallery.me.com/jankafka/100011/landlice1/web.jpg?ver=12174671860001

Then I wanted to create Lord of the Rings Elladan and Elrohir - so when Elf El was created, I ordered two on purpose to portray the twins. I couldn't wait to make elegant elven clothes for them. (I'm still waiting. ^^; But they're still fun - and my only nearly identical twins. :) )
http://gallery.me.com/jankafka/100550/elandel8/web.jpg?ver=12939280140001

I have Little Fair twins, Rhei and Lhei: a Little Fair Tanning Ren and an Only For You Tanning Ren. I love that their face-ups are a little different, reflecting their personalities:
http://gallery.me.com/jankafka/100646/rl4/web.jpg?ver=13231245080001

I also have a an old (normal) F29 and a pureskin Sunlight F17, a Black Cat Lucas and a White Cat Chris and a Kohya and a Tohya, although I don't think of any of these sets as "twins." I just love the headmolds, and they fit certain characters. (I would love a Sunlight Lucas-esque or Tohya-esque triplet, if Volks ever made one. :) But story-wise, like these "twins," they wouldn't be related.)

Briefly had twin Inheungsa Lucyels, because I sold mine, missed him, bought another, but he wasn't the same, and was able to buy my original one back. (Yay!) And so sold the second. It was fun to have two for awhile, though.

Oh, and I currently have three white CH Jins. Maybe my favorite doll sculpt of all! One is twin to my Customhouse Jun.

So yeah, twins. I'd have to say love them, but sometimes they're too much of a good thing. :D

I adore twins! We have three sets here at home - one identical pair, one set of fraternal brothers (Custom House Mars and Jupiter) and a set of fraternal siblings (Volks Syo and Megu).

We also (between my girlfriend and I) have two other sets of the same head mold and I have three boys that are similar head molds.

I guess when you see something you like, there's a tendency to get more of the same sometimes! But none are exactly alike.

Twins become addictive. I've had Silvia twins planned for awhile (one open eyed, one dreaming), and hiritai and I have twin characters as part of our doll family. One of these, our BC Elf Gun twins, became all mine recently when she sold Lucy to me. They are different skin tone, and different personalities, and I love that about them. But I do love to have them wear matching outfits (that still reflect their own personalities):

I completely agree with what others above had said about not wanting twins....... I think that if I had twins I would completely change there face up and cloths, I don't really know, twins that look exactly alike would get boring for me!!! Fraternal twins would be a good idea though, because it gives a lot more opportunity for change and diversity, but really I would never own more than a couple of bjd at a time, because I wouldn't have enough time to spend with each of them.......

I have multiples. 4 f-01 and someday another f-01 (FCS bw this time) is going to come, so they'll be 5. I don't know if my 2 sweet dreams can be considered part of the multiples too. My f-01 are different versions ( excepting Standard Sara Oldskin, that one is modded and the other not ) oldskins, pureskins...new make up version, new body version...etc...So they are not "exactly" the same. All of them belong to the same story/family.

I feel very comfortable with multiples (obviously XD). Mine are all different. Diferent makeups, clothes style, personality...I don't think I ever have identical twins. I like to experiment with each one of them.

I would tend to be more inclined to get "sibling" dolls. More veriety that way! But if I was going to get twins, it would be specifically because I wanted to make one different from the other in some major way. Say, one male and one female. One sweet lolita and one a hard-core goth. One sleeping and one awake.

I really love admiring other people's twins though :D.

I had plans to bring in twins. Two of (essentially) the same mold. One female, the other male and both adopting similar, estranged and somewhat otherworldly tastes reminiscent of a more nostalgic genre.

Rather than implanting the same mold into their material forms, I've decided to employ the illusion of two consistent sculpts- completely different in actuality. They are however, by more means than necessary, considered 'siblings'. Though slightly more complex than that.

I don't find there to be a need for stark differences anymore; one at the other possible spectrum (like I used to be enchanted about as a child). Most of the details I encourage in my plans are minute and exact... and seem to be the a result of the aura alluding from each personality. These twins have many similarities and differences of the same equivalence., but these preferences are not at focal point nor considered a matter of subject so things happen on and off. They could match one day, be of no importance the next. Then again, the story gets over most of the stereotypes and gets on with the actual plot.

I do enjoy seeing identical/similar sculpts look different and dissimilar molds look similar and/or resemble each other. I also LOVE seeing twins dressed exactly the same instead of say, a set match.

In my humble opinion, I have the CUTEST set of twins ever created...:noise But that's just me.

Spork and Iggy... They aren't exactly brothers... But they are twin sculpts.

I didn't want twins at first but due to recieving a free head...TA-DA!

I can only handle keeping them both cause they don't share the same style.

I get bored enough with their style as it is...if they looked exactly the same I'd go mad DX

I plan on having a pair of twin boys soon, but their characters are fairly different from one another. They're more like siblings than twins I suppose, mostly because I have twin brothers, but they only look alike and have completely different personalities.

I've actually entertained the thought of having quintuplets based off the Stepford Cuckoos....

I have twins! Lishe and Elf Lishe. They look the same because they both have no face-ups right now. But they are different too because they are different sculpts but of the same character. At one point I had triplets, but i sold my Tanning Lishe because I didn't fall in love with her purple-ish tan.

No faceups yet, of course, but I plan on having subtle facial differences (sleeping head will have eyes opened 3/4 of the way, too). I'm not sure about outfits, yet. They probably won't be identical. More of an "opposites" theme, methinks.

I have two sets of "twins", two Woosoo's (one open-eyed and one modded vampire) and two modded vampire Breakaways. Both are not the same color, and their characters are not related in any way, so they're not really "twins". When I fall for a mold, I have to have multiple versions of it, it appears ;)

I'd be fine with owning the same mold since they can be customized so much that they can look completely different in the end. But I don't really understand the desire to have two dolls that are exactly (or almost) the same. However, there is something enjoyable about seeing photos of twin dolls, as I'm enjoying throughout this thread. So I guess I can somewhat understand the pleasure of seeing double of the same gorgeous doll. ;3

Aernath, it is always great to look at your boys! Especially since you've added "Tangetsu" to the mix. ;)

As for me, I have fraternal twins (MNF Elf Shiwoo boy and girl) and am quite happy to leave it at that. They get into quite enough trouble as it is, I don't need to add any more chaos to this household. LOL! Although seriously, I think the reason I have never really thought about twin dolls is I'm faced with twins on both sides of my family, mother's and father's so they aren't exact a novel concept for me. I can appreciate other people's identical twins and the work that went into them but I am happy to be audience rather than owner.

I'm now adding a Tan Lion into the mix very soon! :lol
Iple owns me.

I remember growing up with a cousin that looked like my twin, and we both hated being dressed alike, and even our parents occasionally forgetting which belonged to whom... *_*
Maybe that's part of why my triplets are so different.

I have a pair of Elf Shiwoo heads waiting to be modded, faced-up and put on bodies. Once they're finished, one will be a kitsune and the other a tengu, ideally looking quite different from each other. So, identical sculpts but definitely not twins! I hadn't necessarily planned to get two of the same head, but a friend desperately needed the 2007 Luts Juri A, I love CP sculpts, and I knew I wanted elf-eared heads for my youkai girls. Elf Shiwoo seemed the best option at the time, and I'm glad I have them now. If only I could settle on a faceup artist now...

I used to think twins were a waste of money in a hobby with so many options (and in the back of my mind I still sortof agree with that), but I still love identical dolls! I do have twin Cherry boys, Lyall and Ivaylo. They were an unexpected graduation gift. (I'm not big on minis, so I probably wouldn't have them if it wasn't for that fact.)

I don't see anything wrong with having twins. If you are really in love with a mold, then why not have several. Also, just because the mold is the same, that doesn't mean that they cannot be presented as unique individuals.

I would love to have twins or even triplets someday! :) I think it would be really nice to have the same mold in different resin tones (aernath's Sooris come to mind:D). I've also considered getting two of the exact same doll and having each with different faceups and styles of wigs to give them unique looks and personalities. Unfortunately, I'm very poor right now after too many dollie purchases, so any future twins in my collection are a long way off. :tantrum

I have one set of twins at the moment, although they're somewhat different, because one is a Chiwoo and the other is an elf Chiwoo. I also planned a Namu set, but I got sidetracked briefly by Estella... XD

Hahaa, I'm actually in the process of getting my twins. x3 I've always loved twins. They're both going to be Homme-Kirill's, though one has his eyes modified open, to make them look different. Then, when I realized that Kirill is the tender version of U [the doll I was in love with forever], it made me start thinking triplets, perhaps with a female U.

Not usually, but there is one sculpt that I'd consider for twins - Bluefairy May. I don't know why, but I feel that May is really well suited to a twin set - girl & girl or boy & girl.

I don't forsee any twins in my future though. I do love the potential of twins in photo shoots and there are so many cool things to do with dressing them to match/contrast/etc... but I don't want too many dolls, so getting twins would be like closing a slot for another doll.

My twins kind of came to me by happenstance. I had bought an AR Ren from one of my local friends because what she did with him was awesome. I had twins in one of my stories but had not planned on dolling them up yet. Then I saw another Ren in desperate need of a new home and I bought him to save him and fell in love! They have different bodies (one is a dod hybrid) and Relics face has been modified so they don't look exactly the same but I love them! They have mismatched eyes and light scars over the "wild eyes" and they are just wonderful!

That's all I have to say about that!

My first inclination is to say yes. Then I start to think about it and it becomes less and less plausible. I would have to have two very distinct characters that work very well together as twins. Even then I am more tempted to do a male and female. I think one would just end up more fleshed out and that doesn't seem fair to me.

This is a very interesting topic and it has got me thinking quite a bit. I do not have any dolls with the same head mold, unless you count my Soah and my Reminisce Soah head - which I don't. I do however LOVE :heart the Lishe mold - she was always my true 'grail' doll and the doll that brought me to BJDs. I hope one day to get an Elf Lishe and a Tanning Lishe even though I have my Harriet (a NS Lishe) already. I saw someone earlier in this thread had all three at one stage - so cool! :clap I don't know if I would get another NS Lishe though as that place in my heart has been filled by Harriet - but I cannot say it is impossible. :)

I actually have a twin and I just love how they look so much alike, but can be very different.
It's also fun to try doing not-too-similar face-ups on them.
My twins are both Kyante Re-Che heads with slight customs by me.
But rather than having a twin that's of the same gender, one is a boy and the other is a girl.
Jin (the girl) still needs a body though. :(

I'd never really look into twins unless it was purposefully for characters of mine that were twins. With dolls, twins kind of equate out to 'clones' for me, so if they weren't specifically intended to be twins, then I'd be a little bit bothered by the concept.

I rather like the idea of "twin" dolls, especially a girl/boy pair with the same headmold. I love twins! <3 I have 2 now, marcia dreamings (other one modded) and Soony sleepings (both modded) and I will have more when I can! xD I just love twins. Marcias are the only ready ones, other soony is head only so... Soonys are Mitsu-Rina and Maruko and Marcias are Utu (no mods) and Sumu (open eyes and teeth).

Oooh twins.. *drool* At first, i thought twins would be pretty much a waste of money (considering Im pretty poor and get dolls as gifts xD).. but when I saw a different make up version of a DELF Yder (I already have one), I started dreaming up a personality for that boy, what he would wear, what his eyes and hair would be like.. it just went on. hahaha I guess now my answer would be, if I would get twins of the same headmold I'd get the other one as a different version, i.e, like a dreaming headmold or something, to show a different personality as well. That's what I think anyway. XD

I'm actually planning on two Bobobie/Resinsoul Mei dolls (43), one in white skin and one in blue skin. I love the sculpts and I love the default faceups tho I also plan to do the faceup on the blue because I will want to use custom colors. BUT I will basically be copying the default faceup. Very pretty they are! :D

I also have interest to one day own two 43cm Narae girls. One with the open eyes and one with the classic face.

:angry I want more dolls!!!!

When I started this hobby I didn't see the appeal of have two of the same molds. Now, I can understand their attractions. I've absolutely fallen in love with a mold and I wouldn't mind having two of them. If I had twins I'd definitely give them different eyes, hairstyles, and face-ups. These set of twins are more appealing than twins that are duplicates of each other.

Lol, has nothing to do with "would you get" -- they just seem to be immune to you saying no!

I have two MNF Shiwoo "sprites", 4 Els in different flavors, a couple of Sooris (and a bit more if you count the hybrids). And yet each one is as individual as it's possible to be. So I don't -- yet -- have identical or fraternal twins, even -- what's another term that could be used? "Mold-mates"? "casting twins"? "creche twins"?

Some of my characters are twins, so I will end up having a pair one day.... But I do not like the idea of having the same mold for them.... May happen that I end up with the same mold though >A<

At least the face-up will make them look different, and that is what I want, the same but can still make the difference =P

I almost bought a twin for my MSD F20. I think once some people find a headmold that really grabs them and they love so much it can be a good thing for their collections to have multiples. That said, I opted for a MSD F19 instead and to be honest, I'm not sure it will be all that different in the end. They both have similar facial proportions so I can't wait to put them next to one another!

I like the idea of twins in general, and I use them a lot in my fiction, so I can see the attraction. On the other hand, there are so many beautiful sculpts out there I find the idea of having two the same a bit redundant. So...guess I am undecided.

When I get older, probably yes. (I'm just about to enter my second year in high school.)I've always been tempted to order the DOD Too&Bee A package. Their face ups are just adorable but my first BJD(Luts-Kid Delf Aru) hasn't even arrived yet so I'm thinking about it. I think I should talk to her about it. After all, they're going to be living with each other.

I'm actually planning a doll based off of a character of mine named Sauron Valadan and I've been struggling with the thought of making a dollfie of his twin brother too and honestly, I think it would be weird not having a Kadance (Sauron's twin) to go with Sauron, so I'm planning him too.

I guess I'm tempted to get a pair of Musedoll re-ches and put one of them on a girl body.... even though Re-An is out and she is supposed to be the sibling, I feel she is too feminine for the personality I seem to get when thinking of Musedoll twins...

At first I would definitely raise an eyebrow to the thought but I ended up with Dream of Doll's Too&Bee-A which have *very* similar sculpts, and I realized that if I didn't end up with these two, I probably would have gotten 2 CP/Kid Delf Bory's (boy&girl) and had them be twins.

So far, my view on twins/clones is a rather positive one. I've seen people do some beautiful things with twin characters, and I wouldn't mind someday working a set into my own doll family. But that will be a while yet. I can just hear my wallet crying now...>_>

My good friend has twin Yo-Sds, one boy and one girl. They are very precious and look like twins yet are different enough to have their own personality and character just by looking at them. I think twins are great as long as they dont look EXACTLY alike. I've considered getting my own set. :3

When I started in this hobby I couldn't understand why anyone would want 2 of the same doll...

... but now I have 2 'standard' El's, a Dreaming El and a MNF El! :) The 2 'standard' ones aren't related at all and look nothing alike. I like the mold so much though that now I wouldn't feel safe stating I'll never get another one!

I also have 'twins' in a Sleeping Anu and a Cali on a boy body who look similar enough for me.

I really love how amazing the nature creates the unbelievable the same thing like human twins, so I really love to have them dolls too. :)

I have a pair of twins; they came to me that way - BW Shiwoos, one of whom is a Dreaming Shiwoo, so not quite identical, but with near-identical face-ups. one has red hair (Emrys, the normal Shiwoo) and the other has blue (Myrddin, the Dreaming Shiwoo).

That said, I do have quite a thing for the Shiwoo mold, as I currently have five in total - in addition to the twins, there's Eric, my NS Shiwoo, Gabrielle (NS MNF Shiwoo girl) and Lucien (NS MNF Vampire Elf Shiwoo). I can't really see myse;f getting any more though - 5 Shiwoos in one house at a time is quite enough for anyone, I think! :sweat

I have one twin now and some on my wishlist:

Ivan (luts delf lu-wen boy) and Lilliya (luts delf lu-wen vampire girl)

In future I want 2 soom saiphs (both girls) and maybe even more.

And in future I want to buy a second feeple ashley which won't be twins or something, but just because I love the mold. And the vampire head will be on a delf body to be a younger sister of Yulia, my feeple ashley vampire (on feeple body). So that's 2 of the same mold, although it isn't a twin.

I like the idea of triplets and such, but I am not sure if I'll ever get more than twins.
And I'd love to have a soom MD twin. Not a doll with 2 heads (like heliot or any other head with one open eyed and one dreaming head), but just two identical molds as twins.

Jolen (RS Jun in blue) is actually a twin. His twin, Jenlen, looks exactly like him except Jenlen is green skinned. I wouldn't get Jenlen though as his character died and that would be weird to me.

I have a tanned Min head that was the result of a company error (they sent me tanned when I'd asked for normal-y). I got the correct head eventually (he's Jaiseki) and the company said I could keep the tanned head.

I have recently come to the realization that the tanned Min head would fit another character of mine perfectly *head desk*. I'm not sure if I'll actually get a body and make this character as I'm having a little trouble with the idea of having 2 of the same sculpts as 2 completely unrelated characters (they don't even exist in the same world/universe).

Not too sure I could get two identical dolls, I would have to find two moulds that are very similar, like F-16 and School A or Lucas etc...just so that I had something a little different...but then again, I am probably a little nurotic like that ^_^;

I currently have a set of twins. Sonya and Sasha, housed in the BBB Isabella sculpt. They're characters of mine, and meant to be identical twins. They both already have their own obvious personalities that are quickly developing beyond what I'd had planned for their characters before getting dolly-forms of them.

I know I'm also going to wind up with 2 RS An sculpts...one male (who should be home soon!) in NS, the other female, on the BBB mature bust body, in LT. They are 2 different characters from 2 different stories, but I think the sculpt fits both of them beautifully. And I'll have either 2 RS Mai or 2 BBB Espree...I've Not decided between the Mai and Espree heads yet to be the male twin of the female An. Unless, of course, another sculpt is released that will work for either of the LT twins before I decide to actually get them. They need to both be the BBB/RS LT color, as I've already GOT the BBB body for the girl, and they have the same skin-tone in their story. Espree and Mai just happen to also be the doll forms of 2 other characters from a different story.

I have a set of identical twins planned using an Oceanmoon Hwa-Lan. They are very different young men though, so depsite having the same sculpts I think hair and costume choices will set them apart. I guess if you made their makeup, hair and clothing the same all the time it would be well... odd, what's the point but two dolls same sculpt, different other stuff really won't look alike. Look at all the diversity between owners with the same doll sculpt. Each one is made unique by the characterization we give them.

Twin characters? Probably not. And if I did they probably would be different but related-looking sculpts. More than one of the same sculpt? Sure! I like to have a variety, but I already have both the regular and scarred Minifee Shiwoo, and a Minifee and Delf (modded dreaming) El, with plans for a Littlefee Shiwoo and hopes for a Littlefee El... and I'd also love to have an open-eyed Delf El. If they ever come out with a non-scarred Minifee Breakaway I'll be wanting one, and I'd love to have a Delf Breakaway head (though my budget says "NO!" on that one). It's really only the CP boy sculpts I'm really tempted to get multiples of, though. The rest I'd prefer to have a variety of different sculpts.

I have two sets of twins now. Never thought I would do that. First I got Lati's Ara with a regular head and a sleeping head. Then I got the Volks Tinantsu so then I wanted a boy doll and got Kuuta (which is Tinatsu's twin.)

By then I couldn't take off the Ara head to switch heads so I gave up and bought another body. So Ara always has a twin who is asleep.

I love the idea of twins! So somewhere in the back of my head I still have plans for male elf twins so that I can bring four of my favorite Lord of the Rings characters to life, so to speak. Of course I have tons of other plans for them.

I was thinking of the Bobobie Song for my twin boys sculpt.

I think that my first dolls are going to be the DOC Tender Too and Bee set and I want to use them as brother and sister rather than a couple. And there are definitely going to be times when they are fraternal twins.

It's a long story how I ended up with ED Sooah twins. First I had a Sooah boy (sold the ED body and got him a CP boy body) and then later on I got a girl body from a different company to make a sister for the Sooah boy. The original plan was to get a ED Wu head to turn it into a girl, but the head is so large! It doesn't look good on the girl body I have.
I was smart enough to order a Sooah head along with the Wu head as a back up plan, because I knew a Sooah head looks fine on the girl body. So now I have two Sooah siblings and they might as well be twins. I don't mind two dolls with the same head molds, because they are going to be very different anyway (boy and girl).

I have a CP El and a LittleFee El. I don't know if that counts, but I really like the El mold and maybe I'll buy another El someday. (Someday far off in the future when I have too much money.) That El wouldn't be related, though. My current El is WS and I like NS dolls better (which would be the resin colour I'd order for a potential second El). ^_^

I never really wanted to have duplicate sculpts or twins but I guess there is always a first time. I bought a Iple Yur Astrologer and then ended up buying a RS Yur because I fell in love with that faceup too. Luckily the character of my Astrologer, Hnoss, did have a sister, Gersemi who was a twin. What amazes me is that even though they are the same sculpt, they look so different from each other.

I never thought I'd have twins, until Rainman sculpted "K", back in 2007. I just fell in love with that sculpt. At the time, he was so different from other sculpts with his moody expression and slight frown lines. I was so captivated by him, I end up getting two: Ltd. Special K, and Standard K. Their characters are twin brothers, one nice, and the other a not-so-nice scoundrel.

I doubt very much that I would ever own triplets of any one doll. Much as I love this sculpt, two is enough.

I have twin boys who are currently OT Obitsus, but I'm hoping to ugrade them soon to resin... MNF Shiwoo and Chiwoo. Their character look enough alike to obviously be twins, but they have different styles.

Mmmm, yes! I love twins! I have two sets planned already, and I can't wait to get them ^__^ Part of it is that my dolls are also characters of mine and the dolls are part of the story, but the other part is that I just love the sculpt enough to get two! Plus, the idea of identical twins just absolutely fascinates me, so being able to have twin dolls would be really cool for me. I really love the whole symmetry deal, so my twins (both sets) are going to look pretty much identical, save for the clothes.

I always wanted twins but so far haven;t found the right ones but I am now think ing of triplets in an RS sculpt. It is a 40cm doll and she is so tiny in comparison to all my opthers that a 2nd or 3rd would be awesome.

I have nothing against multiples of the same doll, but if there were identical to a tee that might feel like a waste to me. Maybe if they were twins but had different hair/eyes I would like it better.

Welp, I'm officially working on my SECOND set of twins!

The first pair are Chiyoko [MNF scarred Shiwoo] and Hisato [MNF scarred Breakaway], and now to add to it are Ryuichi [Delf Shiwoo] and Etsuko [Delf dreaming Shiwoo].

Ryuichi and Etsuko are twins in the Gravitation RP I'm in and Chiyoko and Hisato are in an original story I'd like to someday write.

Wonder if I'll ever end up with triplets? :lol

Well, it sorta just happened. There was this girl at the danish BJd forum who had a LD Keid head for sale and I simply had to have it! Then not long after his twin-brother was for sale too, a sleeping Keid. I'm just all too smitten with this mold, find it utterly gorgeous, love that mouth of his, the cute little nose, simply put; everything!
They aren't entirely identical-looking but close to. They were back when they were kids though.

They may not be planning to do it, but that's still funny ;).

There's at least one dealer who shows up at Dolpas with a table full of School As. Some people just find their sculpt and stick with it. :D

I don't have my twins yet, because a YoSD Colin in default at a reasonable price at the right time has so far eluded me. But it'll happen one day. :)

Some of my characters are twins, so I will end up having a pair one day.... But I do not like the idea of having the same mold for them.... May happen that I end up with the same mold though >A<

At least the face-up will make them look different, and that is what I want, the same but can still make the difference =P
This is what I wrote in 4-5-09 and today I am getting my First pair of "real" twins as I bought a firend's Crobidoll Lance head and I already have one > w<
Seren (My CD Lance) was supposed to have a twin but I never thought of getting him so soon and as the same head xD

I also have my little twins (Mirabeel and Isabeel) that do not have the same head but look-a-like =D

::EDIT::
In the end it did not work out... sadly xP

I have three Chiwoo. Two are twins, one is unrelated. Dawn and Dusk are semisleeping and open eyed white skinned Chiwoo, while Merch is a normal skinned elf Chiwoo.

Honestly, if I could? I'd have an army of Chiwoo. I wouldn't mind multiples of other dolls, either, but I don't plan on anymore at the moment.

I sort have have twins, but they aren't, really...

My first doll was an El Elf and it came with a vampire El Elf head. So they are kind of twins, but look too different (one is open eyed, the other dreaming), I think, and I haven't tried to dress them the same... I've also got different heads for my Elf Lishe and Elf Yder... but none of them really look like twins.

So maybe identical twins just isn't my thing... I definitely haven't bought two of the exact same doll... There are just too many lovely dolls out there for me to do that. Although I do buy SIMILAR dolls! *_*

I know what you mean. I have five different Shiwoo, two of which are near-identical fraternal twins. Ryuichi is an open-eyed Shiwoo and his twin sister Etsuko is a dreaming Shiwoo. Chiyoko, on the other hand is a Scar Shiwoo and her twin brother is actually a Scar Breakaway.

I think that it would be somewhat boring to have the exact same sculpt as twins.

I have two FL 2010 event Juris that I planned to keep and make twins since I knew I`d get them. Their names are Rabu & Kisu. Rabu got home first and she has a nice faceup by my friend Shaiel and an older type souldkid body with flattened chest, it`s similar to Volks MSD, but a bit thinner. She is pretty much finished. Kisu is still a blank head, tho.

The only picture of the two I took:

Kisu`s supposed to be the ghost of Rabu`s passed away twin sister.

Personally I wouldn't but two of the same mold. I love twins though. My friend and I decided we wanted twins and since we both love school A, we each got one on the last New York Dolpa and thus we got our twins. We have the same eyes, color wig, and almost the same face up with some minor different for personality.

My friend and I have twins, but since I have both the regular Delf Shiwoo head and the dreaming, she's helping me create her as a OC, since the character is hers to begin with. She's helping me pick clothes and hair and eyes and whatnot, and its fun! :nod

I did the same as the posters above me, have twins with another doll owner! <3 Me and my friend both have Or-Doll Heye girls, but they have their differences, hers is on a SD10 body and mine is on a Ariadoll big bust body, plus hers has a blue color scheme and mine has pink..personality wise, they are also different, but they still look alike and are obviously twins because of their heads ^_^ It's a fun way to have twins!

I never thought about getting two identical dolls untill the very recent arrival of my KDF Bory Girl, but now I really want a second Bory to be her twin (or maybe just her sister... or half sister...). Because I am madly in love with this mold. But till now, I had only non-identical twins :lol

I'm definitely entertaining the idea of FL MNF Karsh twins. I just adore the face and elf ears. Since I have a FeePle65 Chloe on layaway right now, they could easily be her children x], though I'd like to do one boy and one girl just so I can make them look different even if they have the same face sculpt =)

I love the idea of twins. My best friend and I are really close and we've discussed the idea of buying twins; one for her and one for me -- as a sort of friendship charm. The idea was that she'd design the one I'd keep [clothing, face up] and I hers and we'd exchange them.

I am completely stricken with Littlefee Ante... I ended up with her Elf version and Human version.... though not twins, still pretty close. ANd then all the little Ante sizes... Oh my GOSH if they ever made her facemold in the Minifee (or go in the other direction and make a REALPuki Ante!) size, I would probably just keel over in ecstasy.

So I can definitely see having twins of certain ones. I have twin boy and girl Littlefee Bisou bears... they're so cute together.

But otherwise, I'd definitely have to diversify the appearances enough to give them varied personalities--- especially if it was just a headmold I liked, but I wasn't going for the twins theme. I coudln't help but do that with the Bisou Bears because they remind me of my brother and me when we were little.

I agree, I'd really have to like the mold in order to have twins. Or a friend would have to own one. Then again if I did have twins they would be like the ones from Ouran Host Club. I think mischievous twins are the best. What do you guys think?

Their faces are quite similar so they sort of look like twins, depending on how you dress them and what wigs they're wearing.

While I don't have a pair of twins myself, my friend does. She has a Yo-SD Sara and a Yo-SD Nana. They aren't sold as twins but they have the same headmold, so I guess my friend thought "hey lets have twins". She has them both with brown eyes and a light brown coloured wigs (in different styles).

They're so cute! I would totally get a pair of tinies as twins, but not a MSD or SD sized pair because they'd just look too similar.

I love the idea of twins, in fact I have some twin characters in my stories... so some day I do want twin dolls to represent my twins. I will admit, I don't have identical twins in my writing thus far, mostly fraternal twins so there would always be a male and a female, though quite similar in nature and look.

Anywhoo, on the actual topic at hand--I've always thought that twin dolls are really cute. I especially like it when people take two of the same sculpt and do something unique and separate with their face-ups and overall look. It kind of makes them twins in a more subtle way--twins, but not personality clones. As for me, however, I don't see myself doing the twins thing. I would like to own more of a variety of sculpts in the long run.

I too have ended up taking the lunge. I never intended to have twins, as I already have a set of similar but different girls who are adopted sisters, and then I got my Volks KoTenshi. As she fits in best narratively as an older twin of another of my girls, I now have a set of fraternal twins. I enjoy their distinct looks, but the KoTenshi looks so good in the wig I put her in, they resemble one another more than I expected.

I recently decided I wanted twins. I used to be kind of iffy on whether or not I would want multiples of one sculpt/doll (Rationale being: why waste money on one I already have when I could spend it on a different one I want?), but then I decided that my first doll, Vivica (DZ fei girl), should have a twin brother - for several reasons: First being I LOVE the DZ Fei sculpt, and since it's originally a male sculpt, and it looks good that way too, I think that would be awesome. And while I didn't plan - originally- for her to have a twin brother, she was supposed to eventually have a brother. I really like the idea of a twin now. (Plus, I have a photostory to go with it already!)

HOWEVER, I have plans for him to have a different wig color (Despite being twins) because he "dyes his hair" so he isn't a ginger. The eyes would probably be the same... Although, they'll have to be fraternal twins since they're different sexes, so that leaves eye color open anyway (maybe blue? I do LOVE the blue Eyeco eyes...). I have time to decide that though. C:

But if money was no object ...well then I think I may have to but all the twins a house of their own :)

Yes! Initially wanted a pair of NaNuRi 07 male and female twins in default face-up but still considering if they'd fit into my backstories for my entire crew ^^;;

I used to have doubles of almost each mold I had in my crew (I had 2 Breakaways, 3 Lu-Wens, 2 NaNuRi 07s). Sold most of them because I eventually changed my backstories / it was too difficult to source for someone who could do the customizations I wanted :(

Yes here too! I have several sets of twins. The same sculpt can look so different with a change in face-up too so don't be afraid to purchase multiples of a favorite sculpt.
