I feel pretty stupid for this, but, hey, it's gotta be done. =D;

So, I was one of the many who ordered a Migidoll Ryu head in their last release. Being that I'm a lazy teenager with no job, just a couple of weeks ago I saved up enough to finally get a body for my boy. I went the AOD route, and today it arrived.

However, I've encountered a problem (well, besides his nakedness. But that's not as crucial as this. x3) I have no idea how to get his head onto his body. Despite all the research I'd done prior to even start saving up for one, I haven't seen anything to hint at what's to be done.

Now, I know I'm not the first person to pair this particular head and body, and I figure there are others familiar with at least one of the two, and so I was hoping for help.

There's a lack of any extra part to hold it together, the little grooves in the Ryu head's neck won't support the S-hook, and I'm lost for any other alternatives short of putting something in there. Before I would attempt that, though, I figured it would be best to ask for some help, no matter how big of a shot to my pride it is to ask, so as to get things done the most efficiently as well as avoid damaging this, my first BJD (which helps me get over having to ask a little, but ~ Oh well.)

And, that is that. I will go hang my head in shame for now while awaiting an answer. (= Thanks in advance to anyone who contributes. (=

If the groves in his head won't hold the s-hook properly, your best bet is probably a simple metal washer from the hardware store, but... as I think about it, you might have to totally re-string him then. :\

The washer thing occurred to me just a short bit ago, actually, and I'd been considering it. As I've been thinking about it, I've been concerned with that. It wouldn't bother me to restring him, but I'd like to avoid it if possible, so ~ *shrug* I'd likely end up attempting to put the washers in and see how that works, but I get the idea it won't be perfect.

Ah well, can't win 'em all.

And thank you for the input. (=

Not necessarily. If you get a long piece of ribbon or a shoelace (I prefer shoelaces because the hard plastic bits at the ends make it easier)... you can pull up on the S-hook and thread the shoelace through the elastic underneath the S-hook. Then slip the S-hook off, thread the washer onto the shoelace/ribbon and down onto the elastic, then place the S-hook back where it was and remove the ribbon. If you lose your grip and the elastic slips into the body, you can pull it right back out with the shoelace.

I hope that made sense. >_< It's what I use to hold my MNF girl's head onto her Soulkid body, and that's how I strung the washer on. It's a bit tricky and took a few tries, but it works without restringing the doll.

If that was completely confusing, let me know and I'll record a video tomorrow and post it on YouTube if you like. ^_^ Just PM me if you're interested.

At craft stores they sell thin wooden discs, about the right size to fit into a minifee head, I think they sell them in larger sizes. My girlfriend used one to attach her Minifee Chiwoo head to a DOC boy body. You just use a dremel (or you could use a scroll saw, or maybe something else, I don't know) to sand an appropriately sized notch into the disc, making it easy to slip on and off. Just have to slip the head on, pull the s-hook up and slip the wooden disc on. This may take a couple tries to get the notch right, the Luts neckpeice pictured on their website might give a good guideline for notch shaping. Oh and they might break if you don't let the s-hook down carefully.

I am unfamiliar with your doll but grooves inside the neckhole of some heads are meant to hold a plain metal rod that lays across the grooves. Some people make a bar by sawing a length from a nail that is the right diameter to lay in the grooves and stiff enough to not bend.

I have hybrid DZ + Hound head , and Fantasy doll + Ryu head . Both of my boys looks like this inside of head :

It prevents Hound's head from being scratched by S-hook and helps in posing very much .
