Admins----I get the impression that a lot of people either have joined or will join this forum due to the DoA computer issues. I joined in September but have been totally inactive until now myself. Is the server for Resinality adequate to handle the influx, or am I just being Chicken Little and the sky is staying right where it is supposed to?
thanks

Don't worry too much, I think that we'll be fine! :) We're aware of the situation and yes, it's quite obvious that we've had an influx of new registrations and general user activity since DoA has been down, which is perfectly understandable. We've been keeping a regular eye on the server load since DoA started having the most severe of their problems, and so far we've been able to handle the influx of users without problem. We'll be continuing to keep an eye on it but so far I don't forsee any real issue -- even with the highest peak of activity that we've had (which was today, by the way!) there was no real strain on the server.
That said, we haven't not considered the possibility -- we've already got options lined up that we first outlined when we began the site in case of us exceeding server load, so if push comes to shove we can deal with the situation. :) And, if any of you do happen to experience delays, timeouts, database errors, or any other glitches or problems with the server, please don't hesitate to PM myself or any of the other Admins and let us know, as we of course want to be kept abreast of these things! I very much enjoy a fast-running Resinality and I know that you all do too, so it's our job to make sure it stays that way. :D
