Elfdoll has announced some 2008 news. Good news about the bodies, kind of surprising about Soah and Ryung, although it doesn't sound as if they are ending them altogether, just as standards. We can surely look forward to some nice specials of them next year on new bodies! Hopefully in white skin.

1. First of all, Elfdoll will produce new Rainy Doll bodies in 2008. The current Rainy Doll bodies won't be produced after the end of December 2007.

2. Elfdoll will stop producing Soah and Ryung on January 1st, 2008. Soah and Ryung will be released only as special exclusive versions in the future.

Thank you for your warm support and love of Soah and Ryung since 2004.

Elfdoll appreciates your understanding of our decision, and hopes you will love and support our new dolls in the future.

3. Elfdoll is currently selling the standard version dolls every month. But, after January 1st 2008, Elfdoll will provide the standard version dolls only every 3~4 months.

4. The Reminisce heads of K, Mir, and Emma will be released in December 2007.

Elfdoll hopes you will understand why we have decided to end the continuous production of Soah and Ryung. Our action is due to new changes and improvement of Elfdoll in 2008.

Thank you so much always.

That's a bummer! I know I would only want a standard. I once bought a special from Elfdoll and was very disappointed with the "special" clothing. But I guess that is just me. I have been wanting to get a Ryung, but I am not ready to get one yet... Guess I will have to go second hand (which is a great way to get them!)

Yeah, Ryung was the one I was longing for as well. However, the new body thing is good news. The old ones aren't my favorite, although I am getting a Queen Ellie Sooah. I couldn't resist the white resin.

I really wanted Soah to be my Asian adult female, but I guess it was not to be.

At least new bodies might be better posability!

Oh darn, I really love the short Elfdoll guy bodies! And Soah, although I was never as big a fan of the girl bodies. :<

I just saw that Denver Dolls put up a teaser notice for a "Black Orchid Soah" probably a swan song Soah. She is going to be very limited and snow skin (exciting!) so if you want her I would write to them PDQ.

I would love to have a Soah, but I'm waiting on the chance that the new bodies will be much better posers. Here's hoping!

Well... makes me glad I've got my Soah, Meili. Still one of the better Asian headsculpts out there, IMHO. I'm quite interested in the new body, though. I like the one I've got-- the proportions are excellent, even if the posing's a little stiff and the arms and legs lack some of the finer sculpting detail you see in other bodies. But if the newer body builds on the strengths of the old one, it'll make me quite happy.

for a minute i thought they were talking about the Sooahs, which i would have really been disappointed about. either way soah is so retty but what they're saying makes sense i guess.

That's kind of sad. I feel really lucky that I ordered my Soah when I did.

Yeah, it is sad, but you can still pick up a Soah at around the same price at various marketplaces. She still hasn't gone up measurable, despite being discontinued. I'm very curious to see the Denver Dolls version.

Im waiting on the new bodies, too! I want a Mir really bad, but Im waiting to see what the new bodies look like. I've got my hopes up that the new bodies will be double-jointed! (Pleeeeze! :hyper)

It looks like they discontinued Soah, but not Sooah. Why did they have to give their girls names that are only one letter apart? :?

It seems Sooah will still be available as a standard every 3-4 months.

I don't think Hazy looks that Asian. Native American, maybe, or a mix of some kind, but not as dedicatedly Chinese/Japanese as Soah. She does look interesting, in a realistic way, except for one of those pix with her with glasses that isn't flattering at all.

I tried to get a better look at the chunky new inner elbow jointing, and if the legs are double jointed now. Couldn't tell on the legs.

Several Soahs came up for sale recently--

You can buy the Special Soah at Dolls and Friends and Denver Doll Emporium. They are great about allowing layaways too!
