Dollstown 15girl

I remember, it was at least 6 months ago, seeing the 'in-progress' pictures of the new dollstown 15 girl body.... I think the release date was *supposed* to be august or july of 2007, but I guess what was meant was that the 15 boy body was going to be released (not the girl).

Poking around the site (laughing at the google translator) I haven't seen any definite info about her...so does anyone know anything, or can you care to share in my anticipation? :dead

I'll gladly (I guess unhappily would be more appropriate) share in your anticipation. :tantrum I've been awaiting more news of her for what seems like ages now. The sculpting looks beautiful, and it's a distinctly different look from the other 60cm girls out there.

Dollstown has been working on the girl body since late last winter - I think they announced plans for her in Feb? The Dollstown boys were released right before Xmas last year. My Mui arrived on December 28th or 29th. Pictures of the girl body have been posted as they've made progress. There was an annoucement at some point that they were hoping to release the body in July/August but it didn't happen. I'm hoping she'll be ready for release by the end of the year.

They also announced last December that they were going to have very low production for a time while they set up in-house casting capabilities. There has been so much demand on casting houses in Korea it's been difficult for some studios to get reserved times slot for production. While Dollstown was setting this up, the sculptor decided to revamp all of the old body types as well.

I have been waiting for this body since I got my Mui. She looks fantastic, cetainly she's the most healthy/athletic looking girl to be made yet. St. James is going to get one to put her Volks F-30 head on. She's going to be awesome. :yey

Speaking of DT revamps...I noticed the 7 body is redone, and the legs look really chunky now. The one thing I loved about the DT bodies is the fragile quality. Now it looks like another thick-ankled Lati kid, like their green line. So disappointing...I planned to order one, now not so sure...

I've always thought the Dollstown doll had thick ankles myself. Frankly that's why I sold my Lucille's body in favor of a SOOM body.

Yeah I find most of the Dollstown bodies to have monster ankles. I have the boy, and the body is just so gorgeous and realistic- I no longer see the big ankles. He's usually in pants anyway.

LMAO - monster ankles? I'd never looked or noticed them and I want to get a Dollstown male and female. I'm off to check out the website now. Ok, they are a little chunky (so are Mui's legs for that matter), but I don't think they're too bad. I still like the 15 girl's body a lot. I can't wait for them to be back in stock. Oh well, it gives me plenty of time to save (sigh).

There was an update on the DollsTown site yesterday, and it's very good news. The new production schedule has been moved up, and they will be taking orders for the 5 and 7 year bodies this month, 13 and 15 girls in February, and 15 boys and elf (woo-hoo!) in March.

Good news, but damn, I'm saving for the 7-year body right now and don't know if I'll have enough money before they run out of stock again.

I really miss Bandi's original body, that body had curves and was shaped like a woman, I only hope I will like this new body when it is produced, may have to change some dolls to get her.

The 15 and 13 bodies will follow the 5 and 7 bodies that will be released on the 9th of February.....Dollshe will be doing the production from now on for Dollstown...so the quality will be very good indeed....
The only thing that made me very upset is that AnJongHak is adding a Sanding Service to all the bodies :o( That means I have to pay an Extra $70.00 for the 15 Girl body bringing the total up to $645.00 just for the body!!! You can add an extra $60.00 to the 13 Girl brings that up to $545.00 and so on for the others too :o( The prices of all the heads have gone up too :o(
This makes me so sad...........It's like buying a Versace suit only to be told you have to pay $XXXX to have the buttons sewed on!!!!!!!!
Not everyone likes to sand Dollfies...it's a tedious job and one needs the right paper and matreials or you can make a real mash out of it!!!!

Sorry for raving on....but just thought I'd air my opinion on sanding!!!

I am hoping they will also be restocking the old heads and also that Dollshe will not change the resin colors, as I already have a Yeondu head that I've been patiently waiting to get a body for.

There is a notice (in Korean) on the Doll's Information Board explaining the reasons for charging for the sanding service now. Basically, they have decided to use Smooth-On's resin, which is much more expensive but has much better casting results. Dollshe Craft has more the sophisticated technology needed to get really good casts with smaller seam lines. To offset the higher costs, Dollstown is charging a separate fee for sanding. The Smooth-On resin is lower odor and easier to sand, so they didn't think this would be a terrible inconvenience.

from the photos, it really doesn't look like the ankles are any more refined.. I think people refer to thick ankles as Cankles.. cuz the calf and the ankle seem joined.. Either way I adore the Ganga head and hope that one is still as sad looking!

Cankles.....awww, if you held a Dollstown body and felt the weight of it you would realise that little skinny ankles would not be suitable and would look odd to me!.......Maybe the new Dollshe resin will be lighter...as my new Dollshe SA Saint is lighter....then they may thin the ankles out a bit!!....;) (I don't think so).....;) I'm sure little Ganga will be the same too, with her little sad face...she really is adorable...:nod


And getting back on topic....I'm really looking forward to the new 15 Girl body.

I have only seen the lovely faces of these DT dolls.. Never saw a body in real life.. Of course I am looking forward to seeing the new results. I just know the quality of the head is amazing .. I have a BW Elysia and love her on my BW volks body.. the match is terrific..

Will be hard to resist a 15 body with an Estella head though, but Ganga is calling..

I'm getting the 15 male and female bodies for MiniMee heads because I love the sculpts and because I read that they would be a good color match. I can post pics when I have them, both for size and color. I really hope they work out together well. Otherwise I will have two headless bodies.
