Hi! While we think we've caught most all the major issues with the new forum setup, we'd like to hear from all of you if you catch anything acting weird or if the forum is giving you any issues so we can do our best to fix them.
Hopefully, this thread won't be needed too much, but please use this thread to report any issues or bugs you might be experiencing!
Thanks! ^_^

I was logging in at work and because of that I didn't want to check the remember me button and the forum wouldn't log me in! ^^; I'd enter my user/pass, hit log in, get the login/redirecting screen and then be brought back to the forum index logged out. I finally just hit the remember me box.
That's been happening to me, also, even with the "remember me" box, but when i go to the forums, i appear to be logged in. >.o All i wants is that "new posts" link, honest. :oops

Sola: You can access the "New Posts" link from the Quick Links drop-down in the top nav bar! ^^ (Yeah, we did a bit of reorganizing of the top nav to cut down it's length since we have a number of additions many Vbulletins don't.) XD
I'll check into the support forums and see what I can find on the login problem and get back to you on it!

I was logged in, with the "remember me" button, and when I went to PM someone it logged me out and when I logged back in it changed my time zone. O.o (I'm using Mozilla's SeaMonkey 1.1.4 if that helps)
I keep getting logged out and ive also ticked the remembe me button, but time is fine ^_^

When I go to my user groups page, the Austrailia group is listed, but when I check on my user CP, it doesn't show that I've joined (which I haven't, as I'm not (unfortunately) in Austrailia). It wasn't doing that this morning. Everything else seems to be fine though.

A small user-groups bug: for some reason (and I keep going to check that I'm not a member) the ABJD crafts group is showing up in my user groups and I can access it even though I haven't joined that one. Forum hiccup, perhaps?

Thanks for the heads-up! We've been plagued with issues with the new Suntan ABJDS sub-forum today, we think we've set all the permissions right, and then the forum hiccups and messes them up again. :oops I think I've fixed it up for now, so you shouldn't be able to see that anymore -- let me know if that seems to have fixed the problem?

When you update your subscription settings, it will only apply to all *future* threads. So all threads that you were subscribed to before changing your setting will have to be updated manually. Check Merry's post Here (http://www.abjds.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1584&postcount=8) for details on how to do this! ^^

I had that problem too, I had to unsubscribe from the threads completely to get them to stop. (it was only on three threads before i changed settings) weird thing was even after I unsubscribed i still got emails and found that 2 of them had re-subscribed themselves. it was weird.
Also when I clicked on one of the forum threads from the "Home Portal" I got a 404 error message. It only happened once with one thread so it may be just a fluke.

Weird.. I'll check into that Rottenlullaby!
Also, I'm going to go check the board settings and see if I can set the default settings to *not* receive email notifications, since many seem to be having problems with this.
Edit: Done! Now when new members register, their subscription settings should be "Subscribe without notification" when they join up!

Sorry about that! We appear to have had a server hiccup yesterday as several User Group permissions reset themselves and also some post subscription things on mine (and a few other accounts) got reset back a few hours.. I can only think that aside from posts, other options that were changed during this time got set back. Really sorry about that, I'm still not sure what on earth happened! If you get something like this happening again, do let us know so we can look at it.. we're still ironing out the bugs to get the forum as bug-free as possible. :)

I'm really enjoying the site - thanks so much for your hard work! I've come upon an issue that is not a huge deal, but perhaps it's worth pointing out anyways...
When I'm surfing sites at a PC where there is only IE to use, I like to press the Shift key and click on a link to make it open at a new window. When I do this at Resinality, a new window opens the link I clicked, but so does the original window, if that makes any sense. :sweat
Karhys
09-13-2007, 08:26 PM
Yep, it does!
Can you tell me whether this occurs on all links? Or only certain links? Like, does it occur on the navbar? On links within threads? On the links to the sub-forums on the frontpage? Etc, etc.
Unfortunately I can't currently replicate your problem on either my FireFox or my IE-based browser (I don't have IE, but I use Avant, which uses the IE engine) but I will still look into the problem as best I can. :)

09-13-2007, 11:34 PM
Thanks for the prompt reply, Cassiel ^^
This only occurs when I press Shift+left click on the sub-forums' thread titles. This does not occur on the front/homepage, or for example, if I shift+left click on "Quote" or "Private Messages."
thesaraghina helpfully pointed out, however, that when you right click on a link (any link) and select "Open In New Window" you can overcome this problem :)

We've upped the limit of images to 20 per post for now to make it a bit easier for those posting photostories. Hopefully this will be adequate, but we're certainly open to upping it a little more if needed. ^^

you need to put the http:// in front of the url, otherwise your browser will think the site is hosted here- so something very easy to fix! ^_^

I keep encountering a minor problem when trying to look at individual threads, both when following a link from my email and when browsing the board.
Rather than showing the beginning of the thread or even the post I last looked at, it only shows the "quick reply" box. There's nothing above it to scroll up to, and I have to back out and click on the link again to get the whole thread to load. :? I have had this happen on IE and Firefox.

I've been having a weird problem with the skins. I tried to change the skin in my CP, but the change doesn't take. Even when I use the drop down at the bottom of the screen this happens. It will change the skin, but as soon as I click on something else, it changes back to the old one. >.<
Not sure if it's a bug or maybe something with my browser? ^^
Edited to add: Not sure if it make a difference, but the skin I keep getting stuck with is Swirl. (I'm trying to change it to Gardena.)

Hi silver619,
I've just gone in and manually saved your settings (you're right, it's definitely set to Gardena!) in your profile, so let me know if this helps any!
In addition, could you let me know what browser you're using?
Also, are you for example making the change in one window and then browsing in a different window? (For example I often have a couple of different tabs open all at Resinality and I switch between them.)
Also, this may sound odd but are some of your pages at http://www.abjds.com and some of them at http://abjds.com ? I'm finding that we have some links across the site that go to one or the other, and your browser views them as two separate "versions" of Resinality, so sometimes this can cause problems. (For example, the Cassiel at www.abjds.com is using the 'Resinality' style, but the Cassiel at abjds.com is using the 'Swirl' style, so if I get linked from one to the other it suddenly changes.)
I hope that all makes sense. Please let me know how it goes and also if you can give me any more information. :D

I'm not Cassiel, but you can go to the "Edit Options" part of your Control Panel. There you will see "Default Thread Subscription Mode." You can set it to not send emails. Or you can set it to send emails weekly. Unless, you already tried that and that's not working for you.....then Cassiel does need to fix that. :)

Hiya! If you've switched the settings to "Subscribe with no notification" like Zalem suggested above, then that will work when you resubscribe to the threads -- you'll be subscribed to them, but you won't receive email notifications. :)
For any threads that you're already subscribed to, you'll need to go to your User CP's List Subscriptions (http://www.abjds.com/forum/subscription.php?do=viewsubscription) area.. you'll find all your current subscriptions here. If any of them are set to "instant" (this means "instant email notification, which is what's been bothering you!) tick them, and then go to the Drop-Down menu at the bottom of the list and choose "No email notification". This will stop your current thread subscriptions from sending you emails. :)
I hope that helps!
And yes, you can absolutely add Xashi's pic to my F-17 page, I'd love it! Please drop me an email any time with his picture and I'll include it. :D (You can email me from my profile page!)

Hi! Just joined.
Do you guys have set lag time periods here? I'm just wondering because I've done some posts and encountered two cases already where the loading spiral kept going and going and going, but when I backed out and back to the page/post in question, the action was already completed. (one was a posting, another was an editing of a post) I've seen that happen on DOA during the approach to the infamous 1 am EST molasses period and the smaller daytime one, so luckily, I know not to panick, but to copy, back out and back in again and check.
Here, it happened within the last hour and a half (8:30 - 10pm EST). Have you guys heard anything like that happening to others?

Are you using the quick reply/edit box for this? When we first set up the forum, we were having issues with the quick reply/edit lagging out horribly, but we managed to get rid of that. (Or so we thought!) Using the advanced reply/edit mode doesn't seem to have those issues in any case.

I just looked into your account, and there were some weird permission glitches that I think maybe got screwed up because of the reputation system. (Which is odd, because we don't have the reputation system enabled!) That said, I remember this sort of thing happening on DoA several times and having to manually fix it for people over there, so I guess you've seen it too and understand what it's like when the server randomly hiccups. Sorry about that! :blush I think it's fixed now? Can you check it for me? :)

Please try clearing your browser cache, and if that doesn't work, try clearing your cookies. :) Unfortunately, I don't know what exactly could be causing this, but for the few people who have had this problem, one or the other of those options has helped. :) Please let me know if you continue to have problems after that though!
