View Full Version : How can I watchlist a classified ad?

It's not so bad right now, relying on memory when there aren't tons of ads there. But when there are a lot, isn't there a way to mark an ad you want to remember, to go back and look at again, or to put it on a watchlist? I remember seeing that option -- briefly -- elsewhere, but just can't find it in the classifieds page here.

Unfortuantely, the script we use for our Classified Ads system didn't come with a "watchlist" type of feature.

I was hoping that would be an option, since I saw that feature during the brief run of DOA's classifieds the first time.

Is there anything - like subscribing, or it sending a link to the ad if you -- if you can -- pm yourself, like a heads-up? Once the classifieds get really rolling, it's going to involve doing a search and searching through all the results to re-find an ad. Was just hoping there was a shortcut!

No, the script doesn't have those options.

Actually, since each ad generates its own unique URL you could bookmark it.

Now, that's a cool idea! I'm used to opening a copy of Notepad to save stuff in, with a distinct saved name (the real bookmarks are an unholy, crowded mess!).

Thanks, Merry!

I've become so used to bookmarking Y!J auctions (since I have no idea how to watch an item even when I am logged in to my account) that it's almost second nature to bookmark such things. :sweat

You could even do as you mentioned before, and PM yourself a link to the ad with a description. I'm already prepared with a PM folder just for items being watched ^_^;;
