I am looking for a few honest, unbiased reviews of the Volks sealer and cleaning sprays.

For the sealing spray, I am particularly interested in how it compares to Mr. Super Clear and Mr. Super Clear UV Cut. As in, how it sprays, how it dries, any color changed that occurs when dry, the smoothness/roughness of the finish, how it grips pastels, coverage per can, etc. I'm not fond of how MSC UV Cut dries as I think it compares to Testors, so is the ZM spray more like UV Cut or regular MSC?

For the cleaning spray, is this worth getting for regular cleaning/faceup removal? Can you get the same affect with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser and alcohol?

I have only seen the one, thorough review on DoA, so I am hoping for more to back this one up.

I can't help with reviews at this point (I don't have any of the new Volks spray yet) but for what it's worth, MSC UV Cut was pulled from the market because of a problem with the recipe. I tried it once when in Japan and had problems with it, so I asked a Japanese SD fan that I knew and she told me that it was well-known amongst SD owners that MSC UV Cut was unreliable and that it was better to use normal MSC. I just think that this took awhile to filter across to the Western scene. >_>; (And it took them an inordinately LONG time to remove the product from the market, considering that I was first told how dodgy it was in late 2005 and they only finally withdrew it earlier this year!)

I've heard positive reviews about the Volks spray so far, but like I said.. still don't have any of my own yet. :oops Just thought I'd offer up the UV Cut info in case it's in any way helpful. :)

I got to use the spray while at the NY Dolpa when I was working on Philip's faceup. It has a nice even finish and to me at least has a better tooth than Testors. It also doesn't tint the resin the way multiple coats of Testors does. I found that if there are multiple layers the Volks spray remains even while the Testors tints very mildly yellow and seems to have a "honeycomb" pattern to it. Philip's face has remained immaculate since the Dolpa, no chipping or issues.

I've seen testors at work and not something I like :( I much prefer the Mr Topcoat I use (I tried UV Cut MSC and wasn't terribly impressed with it) I have yet to try the Volks stuff but am tempted to grab a can to try soon when I have time to sand down all the boys and girls...

Is Mr Topcoat made by the same company that makes MSC? Does it have any UV protection?
